I'm starting to feel that he just matured early, a bit like Martin Cranie. He is still relatively young, but has not made the impact that Steve Williams, Graham Baker, Matt Oakley or even Neil Maddison had at the same age. Maybe he suffers from the commentators using the same FA inspired stuff about his great dead ball deliveries etc, that make him seem even more disappointing when nothing comes off.

Vic's yellow was in the first half, so that would have been a tad early for a substitution. Maybe he could have been subbed after his argument with Clatenburg, but that wasn't when he received the first yellow card. As to the Mane situation, although it did have a serious impact on the team, rules are rules and if they are seen not to apply to one member of the team, the others aren't going to be too happy about it.

We were in no danger until Vic got himself sent off. ****wit ! had nil-nil written all over it until then. Clasie was very good, but we had no goal threat. Long was OK first half, but spent the 2nd offside. Mane needs a big fine for his attitude and get one of the U21's to chauffer him around. JWP was just awful today. Davis and Tadic need to learn to hit it first time. We need a goal threat from somewhere. May as well give Gaston or Hesketh a go in the cup game as a last resort before we GET THE CHEQUE BOOK OUT !

If it was a boxing match, the ref would have stopped it at half time. We should have been out of sight. The turning point was Davis's decision to try to lob the keeper, instead of put Long through on goal, acceptable if you are 3 nil up, or your surname is Messi, but not at 1 nil. Both goals were avoidable, with Antonio on the deck, surely the keeper should have just called for it and picked it up. As for the subs, what other attacking options were there ? I would agree with some of the posts about Clasie , if he wasn't fit enough for 30 minutes the Reed should have been on the bench instead.

Against a packed defence, which we seem to get inmost home games, I would like to see VVD make more of his forward runs, with one of the DM's dropping back alongside Fonte to keep our shape. Other than Mane, and Tadic he is the only player how likes to take players on. Also, for the rest of the season we need to either make up with Ramirez, or ship him out for another creative player with an eye for a pass. Mane has to come far to deep sometimes to get the ball and is then face with 2 banks of players in between him and the goal.

We were by far the best team for the first 25 minutes, then a **** Davis pass sets up some keystone cops defending and we are punished. We aren't that bad really, just not getting any breaks.

It is very reactive at the moment, but it could be worse. If Branfoot was in charge, not Koeman they would need a bigger server farm than Facebook.

This year, we have fallen behind the teams around and even below us. Cedric is decent, but at the moment he is like year one Clyne with lapses of concentration undermining his good qualities. That season JWP and Davis were deployed to help Clyne out. Maybe we need to do more of that this season. The club has also gone on recotrd to say that Cedric would have been signed in Clyne had extended, so Clyne we are still a right back short in the squad. Clasie has been injured, so it is a bit too early to judge, but he is not Morgan, mind you who is ? Romeou is a decent Cork replacement though. The big difference has been that a number of teams around us have bought players that would walk into our team. Wijnaldum, Shaquri, Delfuou and Cabeye for example. It is no secret that we need more creativity and goals from midfield, and those are four players who could deliver that who have strengthened our rivals instead.

I'm ****ed if I know. He is such a good player, the best Midfield player since Steve Williams . With Williams we got Lucky with Jimmy Case, but I Honestly cannot think of any player out there who is in his class, and who is not already playing in the Champions league. Any ideas guys ( Wenger maybe looking at this thread too) .

If the worst player in League Une last season smacks one in the top corner, you know you're luck is out. Clearly our black box is having some problems, and also if Cedric was to be signed originally as the cover for Clyne ( if he extended) then we needed good competition at Right Back. Replacing Morgan for anything under £20M was clearly impossible, so Claise and Romeu is a decent attempt. However when everyone apart from Villa and Bournemouth are signing a £10M number 10 in the summer, our investment policy is definitely lagging behind. Beat Villa (please), stay up and think again.

3 goals you couldn't do that much about really. Quality from Sturridge and Moreono couldn't have put that in a better spot ( although someone on the far post at corners would have dealt with that. It's a shame, because for the first 20 we were good, and could have easily been 2 up.

Tadic made such a difference, as would a reserve right back. We need to practice being pressed before Wednesday, as we couldn't cope in the first half hour. Bad day at the office for Roger the Ref though.

Forget the legendary AC Milan game against Baresi, Guillet,Maldini,Inzahgi, Ronaldino, Rivera, Van Basten, Ray Wilkins, George Weah and Dasilly. In years to come all the talk will be ' I was there when we put 6 second half goals past 10 men, 7 losses on the bounce, York City. To give them some credit though, that is six more efforts on target than their last home game.

We really need another creative option on the bench, especially against teams that like to sit deep and counter. At the moment we only have Tadic who can do this, and if he is having an off day like Saturday, then that's it. It looked like Ramirez might be able to provide this, at least until January, but something else seems to have happened there and he is completely out of the picture. Mane is great, but needs a bit of space to get moving. We tried to address this we Djurcic and Elia last year, and we need to find another creative outlet for this season, or else the Watford, Palace and West Ham games will be repeats of Saturday.

Very poor. The absolute worst of Shane Long, not tracking back and diving all the time. Both fullbacks never got going at all. Midfield non existent after Claise went off Stoke were good on the break though. Special mention for Mason though. Never gave us any free kicks, booked JWP for his first tackle, and the Pelle penalty was unbelievable.

I watched a bit of the match on French TV. When Lallana came on, they introduced him as having come up from the 3rd Division at Southampton with Schneiderlin. Very educational for the French. I imagine the ITV commentary at the same point went "Lallana .. Liverpool ..Klop.. Rooney .. big club big club ..."
