  1. Assuming they don't come out of administration by 3pm on Saturday then they should still be deducted 10 points, this is from the Football League rules - http://www.football-league.co.uk/staticFiles/78/3/0,,10794~888,00.pdf (page 7/34) Rule 12.3.3 If any club relegated to the League from The Premier League (in accordance with the Rules of The Premier League) whilst it was a member of The Premier League, took or suffered any such action as set out in Regulation 12.3.1 of these regulations at any time following the end of the season (as defined in the Rules of The Premier League) but before it becomes a member of The League, then that club, upon being accepted as a member of The League in accordance with Regulations 7.4 and 10.1 shall suffer a deduction of 10 points, such points deduction to apply in respect of the following Season such that the Club starts that Season in Division One on minus 10 points.
  2. Even so, not a bad effort against a decent outfit who have qualified for the UEFA Cup in recent years. Also won the French cup only 3 years ago. As somebody else mentioned having testing games against good opposition is a far better way of obtaining match fitness than playing and beating amateur swedish teams 8-0.
  3. 58 mins: Barnard heads in a rebound from Lambert's drive, but the flag goes up for offside #saintsfc
  4. Land of hope & glory or jerusalem for sure.
  5. +1. Our squad now looks like this - Davis (Forecast) Richardson (Butterfield) - Fonte (Martin) - Jaidi (Seaborne) - Harding (Dickson, Mills) Puncheon (?) - Hammond (Wotton) - Schneiderlin (Pulis LOL) - Lallana (Holmes) Lambert (Connolly) - Barnard (?) Still left is Gobern and Oxlade-Chamberlain too. So just a back up GK, 1 RW (Antonio preferably), a CM (Stock or Danns) and a pacey striker (Papa would be nice but seems unlikely) required.
  6. Well 4-2 sounds better than 4-0 I spose.
  7. Long ball straight through the middle is allowed to bounce and Rama lobs Forecast from 30 yards
  8. Thank you Markus!
  9. Oops, forgot about Punch for some reason. Him on the right ofcourse! Still need another right winger to compete with him though.
  10. Now we have a right back in atlast and the squad is beginning to take shape, what do you think the starting XI will be for our 1st game against Plymouth? Will Pards go 4-5-1 or 4-4-2? If it's 4-4-2 then the only question marks are over Harding/Dickson and Connolly/Barnard IMO. Hopefully we can now sign Antonio on a permanent deal, would love i if we could still get Papa back too but that seems unlikely. Anyway, the team... Davis Richardson - Jaidi - Fonte - Harding Puncheon - Hammond - Morgan - Lallana Connolly - Lambert
  11. Why the need for 5 CB's? 2 players per position is perfect. IMO we need 1 right back, 1 CM, 1 winger and 1 striker.
  12. ?? Nothing on the OS that I can see.
  13. You have a PM.
  14. Dissapointing, thought ST holders got a bit of discount on tickets last season? Could be wrong. Should have made it £10 for adults, would have seen a 30k crowd, probably about 20-22k now I'd expect.
  15. I recall the same being said about our World Cup group, well that we should win it anyway.
  16. In my life time probably yes. We played poorly at WC2006 and Euro 2000 was pretty dire too. The last time I think we actually played any sort of decent football would have to be WC2002 & Euro 2004.
  17. Ok, mine would be. Hart Richards - Dawson - Ferdinand - A.Cole Milner - Rodwell - Gerrard - Johnson Rooney - Defoe
  18. The team obviously needs a compete revamp and a lot of the rubbsih there at the moment given the boot, who would you pick? I'm still debating over what mine would be but I know Joe Hart, Michael Dawson & Adam Johnson would all be given starts. Interested to see what everybody elses would be?
  19. I really think 99% of the blame has to lay at the players' door. Capello sure made some strange decisions with his selections and subs but he has not won all that he has in his career by being a bad manager, he is one of the best. This so called "golden generation" of English players have now failed under 3 different managers, that would suggest to me that the players simply aren't good enough and very overrated. I said when Capello was appointed if a manager like him with the honours that he has won can't win anything for England then I don't think anybody will for a long long time.
  20. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany_and_Netherlands_football_rivalry All I could find on the football side of things.
  21. You were speaking so much sense up til the last sentence! As much as we all love Saints and have red & white tinted glasses on all of the time, if we were put up against the likes of Terry, Lampard, Gerrard & Rooney we would simply not have a chance I'm afraid! Back to today's game, I'm hating all this waiting around, just want it to be 3pm now!!
  22. Ouch, this is why I'm quite happy doing my Monday to Friday 9-5 job (which also allows for afternoons off when England are playing at 3pm during the week!!)
  23. Finally got round to doing mine today.
  24. I'd say Sir Rickie just about shades it myself.
  25. I fancy us to win this one too, without being over confident though. Germany have some good up & coming young players and I reckon at the next World Cup they'll be a real force. This is a good time to face them IMO. Missing Ballack, Rolfes and possibly Schweinstegier too. We have more experience than them and I think that will carry us over the line. We haven't lost a game yet, they have and despite our performances not being very good our defence has looked very solid, we would still have a clean sheet in the conceded column had it not been for Rob Green's f*ck up. Same side as on Wednesday please Fab. 2-1 England imo.
