  1. I came in halfway through the first episode & found I couldn't remember what had happened in "This Is England" & "TIE '86", but slowly things started to fall into place, and I filled in the blanks via wiki (I'd completely forgotten that Shaun was taken in by the gang of skins). I thought was fantastic, extremely dark in places, yet humorous in others. I'm looking forward to "TIE '90".
  2. I have a 26" Daewoo CRT tv to get rid of. It has the usual connections (Scart, composite-video input). In good working order, was using until yesterday, when we made an impulse buy of a flat screen. Free (although a donation to the beer fund will be gratefully received ) to whoever collects first from Bitterne Park.
  3. Whilst we've been outside the prem I've managed to steer the kids away from these things, as "the prem is of no interest to the likes of us outside it". Now I've got no excuse & will have to stump up the cash.
  4. I can't see this posted yet: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Transfer-gossip-Portsmouth-aim-sell-Hreidarsson-Benjani-Kanu-Ben-Haim-in-January-to-raise-funds-for-signings-article842633.html It looks like the sale of Kanu should just about cover the cost of the chrimbo party.
  5. Arris rail.
  6. The only way you can tell is by looking at the deeds. My parents own the fence on the right, we own the fence on the left. The strange thing is that I live on the same side of the road as my parents, albeit about 400yds away, so somewhere in between us, someone owns both side. The position of the fence posts are not really a good guide, it just depends on how the fencer decided to do it on the day, our posts are central with the panels fixed between.
  7. I agree whole heartedly, the bloke is a legend, the best fly-half I've ever seen, a ferocious tackler, he has the ability to play-off the centres and also bring them into the game, and of course he is second to none with his kicking, whether placed or from the hand. Probably went one tournament too far, but many sportsmen have been guilty of that. I hope Flooders can fill his boots.
  8. Jesus Christ, seriously? I didn't hear that, but if it happened, those that did it should be ashamed of themselves. They are clearly not Saints fans.
  9. I really don't get our fans sometimes, Bart didn't do well today & I & others have made our thoughts clear on this, but to start another thread is tantamount to kicking the bloke whilst he's down. If you have a point to make why not post it on the other thread? If you genuinely wish to guage opinion, why not just go to the other thread & count for yourself.
  10. Unfortunately I have to agree with Alps. I've always defended KD against the Kelvin bashers when he's had the odd shakey moment, and I've always said that one day Bart will be a good keeper, although not yet. However, after todays match I think I was wrong, Bart was apalling, and clearly not good enough, or confident enough for this league. His distribution was terrible, something often leveled at KD (unfairly in my opinion), and his shot-stopping was literally non-existent. I take no pleasure in this, but I think we need a decent 2nd choice keeper. KD has done a fine job and we would always miss him when he is out, but Bart is not the man to step in for him. I fear that if he plays at Fratton Park next week, we might as well not turn-up, the crowd will be on his back from the off & he won't be able to handle it & will fall apart. Hopefully one good thing to come out of this though will be and end to those ridiculous "Davis out" type threads we get when he puts a goalkick into the Kingsland.
  11. I think the pertinant phrase is "One would hope", but I'm not so sure they're above a gallic shrug should the going get tough. Cock - oh yeah you're right.
  12. Getting away from whether Call-Me-Dave is a hero or a c()ck, and whether he has done the right thing economically (and unlike just about everyone else on this forum I've no idea if he has or hasn't), the one thing that stands out to me, is that Call-me-Dave has got rid of our aircraft carriers, and we won't have a servicable one for 10 years or so. We are supposed to be sharing one with those nice people from France, you know the ones we have royally p!ssed off. What would happen if the Chinese/Iranians, whoever, invaded/went to war, the Argies took another look at the Falklands etc. I can't see the Frenchies helping us out now, the yanks are to far away to care, and we barely register on their radar anyway. We've been left extremely vulnerable, both politically & militarily.
  13. This happened to me a couple of weeks ago, they took my details & I subsequently received a phone call saying that thet will be in on the 22nd Dec.
  14. Well done, every loves a smart arse. I randomly select a team outside of the FIFA 100 and you manage to find some stats to prove me wrong, although your desperation doesn't invalidate my point. I could have chosen American Samoa. Yes I was really lucky not to select Iceland, that really would have been embarrassing wouldn't it, although according to wiki the population at the Start of this year was estimated at 318,452.
  15. This thread makes no sense at all, why do we need a player just because he's an international? If I were a betting man I'd put money on none of the current Faroe island team getting a game in the Championship, let alone the prem. Sure it gives the fans something to brag about, perhaps, but do we really want our players running the risk of getting injured or burnt out just so we can go on Pompey forums and brag about our International players
  16. A fantastic player, one of the very best. I Can't say I'm surprised he had an early death when you consider he was a very heavy smoker & almost, if not quite, an alcoholic. However, it wasn't the fags, or booze that got him, although I suspect his body was pretty weakened by the abuse. Rip
  17. Don't forget those fans that queued for the autograph of the Administrator.
  18. I only caught the last 20 minutes, but it sounded like an all round bad day at the offfice, players & manager alike, but with the Hammers also losing it's not the end of the world, we will not win every game we paly & we are still top. I hope the authorities have closed the Itchen Bridge tonight, because from the sounds of things on here the Coastguard will have a busy evening.
  19. No mate, 2 months full pay, 1 at half pay, no private medical insurance either.
  20. But Chappers was playing for us on loan & he wasn't signed until the January window opened.
  21. Not myself, but the Arsenal fan who was sat next to us at the cup final went home with a sore eye, as my then 7 year old son poked him in it with his flag.
  22. Excellent news. Does anyone know why he was already registered with us rather than Celtic?
  23. There is insurance available against this, as I recall (it was 11 years ago when we last moved) it was pretty cheap. We bought ours through our solicitor (Eric Robinsons, but I wouls assume other solicitors would offer it). It saved us a fortune - twice. We lost the buyers for our house & we also pulled out of a purchase, it paid out both times.
  24. Yeah I know, I was just being a c()ck.
