NA summed it up perfectly after the game, great to see a manager who tells it as it is,as opposed to telling it how he expected it to be. I thought that Kelvin was magnificent and the tip over from Leigertwood was world class, and Chaplow covered virtually every blade of grass on the pitch and was also magnificent . Delighted that De Ridder had such a positive impact. As poor as we were, until we went down to ten men,you have to give Reading credit, because alongside Forest they are the best side[by their performance that I have seen this season].

Lallana is the jewel in the crown,Rickie is our talisman, its spin a coin for me at present. W

I thought this, when I saw the highlights last night. The person who edited the highlights was either a West Ham fan,or was watching an entirely different game,to those of us who were there.

3-0 would not have flattered us,all in all another magnificent performance. MOM for me was a toss up between Chaplow and Hosveid, and some of Rickies link up play was sublime.Very, very happy tonight. -
The reservation I had when we signed him was if he could not get into an SPL side in one of the weakest leagues in Europe, then he may struggle. However he has improved every game that I have seen him at St Marys, infact dare I say he has looked more solid than Fonte, who has not up to now[ imho] set the championship alight like I thought he would.[still time though, tuesday night will be a good game, for Jose to have his best game of the seasdon so far.

Spin of a coin for me,should be a cracker, in which hopefully we can come out on top. I think both defences can be a bit iffy, both teams have excellent midfields,we have Rickie and Guly, who may hopefully be the difference, especially as Adam is likely to be out.

Excellent performance, maybe unlucky not to win, looking at stats. 30,000 plus on tuesday evening, looking forward to what should be an absolute cracker. -
We are now lucky enough to have Nigel Adkins, enough said.

Gifted but very inconsistent, because I really like him as a player.
-
Rickie has been great for us,the club have been great for him.
-
Its on the pitch that counts, not whats in the papers. After all what is written in the papers is only an opinion of the journalist appointed to watch our particular game.[Except for the echo, which is at present reported by a fellow Saints fan]. If the press do have an agenda against us,so be it,does it really matter.Lots of clubs are not liked by the press.

The tickets easily sold, thank you for the replies and for the imformation as well. Andy

Probably slightly fortunate to be one up at half time, second half some of the football was sublime going forward. I thought at times Lallana and Guly were unplayable and that Guly shaded it as the man of the match.[being to the side of the Chapel goal,I cannot say whether the first one was a penalty, however the second was a nailed on certainty]. I thought the referee was very good as well. -
Terrific article, georgeweahscousin and I agree one hundred percent with what you say. Any sensible fan will too, enough bsaid.

A very good point,so pretty happy. -
Nothing to do with Jeff Stelling. MLT is my co - favourite player of all time, however if that is the club rules on Season Tickets so be it. As for Mcmenemy, who cares.[My opinion of course, which I am perfectly entitled to,like all of you on here, who for some reason think he is a demi-god].

Not a gimme by any means.Rodriguez and Austin will both be a handful. However with our threat up front,we should hopefully pick up a point minimum and maybe all three.
-
Not a fan last year, but he has been superb this year at a higher level. Enough said.

Is David Connolly, 34, better than Kevin Phillips, 38?
corsacar saint replied to Giordano's topic in The Saints
Both are still terrific footballers with excellent football brains. We will have to keep a very sharp watch on KP,when we play Blackpool. As an asside we definately did not see the very best of KP when he was here. However why Redknapp played Ormerod ahead of him in our final premiership game against MU,only he knows. -
One,if not the most boring 0-0,that I have ever seen, but I suppose that is what to have expected with both teams needing a point each to stop Brighton going up. I think had we won we would have pipped Bolton for the title on goal difference.
-
Going forward we were[are] magnificent,Kelvin was superb today and it was difiicult to pick out a man of the match.[Maybe Connolly at a push]. The 3 goal scoreline maybe was a little flattering, but who cares, this is a fantastic time for our wonderful club. Let us not forget that the Birmingham back four have played hundreds of premier league games between them and we ran them ragged. Finally I thought the young referee was excellent, despite being a bit pernickity at times. I forgot to mention we are just the eleven points clear of that shower down the road.

If Mackenzie signs next year as well as Katich[With Carberry,Vince,Dawson,Adams and Ervine] we should come straight back up with Yorkshire. I think Bates should also be a shoe in,his batting is improving rapidly. It is a shame that we will lose a year in division 2.
