  1. Winning is starting to become a habit, especially in the shorter formats, long may it continue.I thought Adams in particular was brilliant today. Also great to see Lumb finally start to hit a bit of form, with the business part of the season rapidly approaching.
  2. Puncheon was good first half, not so good second, but why he gets so much stick on here, god only knows. He never tries to hide, and always wants the ball, even when he is not on top of his game.A pretty good player in my book. If we are going to be critical of players,do not get me started on Hammond.
  3. As he came off the bench for Reading after 75 minutes today,it looks like you are off the mark with this Pilchard. I will gladly take back this comment,if you are proved right though.
  4. 1st half we played well, shame all the headed chances fell to Hammond though. After Peter Reids half time roasting, they were better in the second half. However we still had enough chances late on to claim at least 1 point, We missed Rl without doubt, but if we play like we did 1st half and last 20 minutes we will be in the mix [We definately need some pace asap.]
  5. Thanks Ron,for a terrific synopsis.
  6. Excellent news, this guy is a really good keeper.
  7. As I said after the Lancs game,Durham are a decent bunch, and will make a game of it.Stokes in particular was superb, real shame in a way, that he threw his wicket away on 99. Tomorrow could be interesting if the rain stays away long enough.
  8. Go up he stays,do not go up he goes simple.I am sure the same scenario applies to Rickie Lambert,Jose Fonte,Morgan Schienderlin, and maybe 1 or 2 others.
  9. If Plymouth play Lee Molyneux at left back,we will score a hatful.
  10. Great to see Lumb in the runs again.Well done to Carberry as well.We certainly need to try and get maximum points from this game,as I have just seen 4 of our last 5 games are away.
  11. If any of you posters on the site who spout your vitriol at Duncan, knew him personally like I do,and realized how much he loves the club, every one of you, would react to some of his threads with grace only. He is a top guy, unlike some who post on here. It is a shame that some posters on the forum, are totally incapable of being pleasant to their fellow posters.
  12. The interpretation by Weston Saint[May be the right one][i have no inside knowledge].However for some on here who claim to care more about the club than Duncan,I do not think most of them come even close to his passion for the club.
  13. Is he even worse than Lew Chatterly?
  14. Lancashire have to be the most negative side in the country.I am totally delighted that I decided not to go today. Roll on Durham,a decent crowd, who play the game in the right spirit.[i know the 4 day game at Basingstoke is almost certainly going to produce a positive result either way, unless too much time is lost to the weather].
  15. Lancashire will probably regret taking so long to reach our lead of 86 runs. A win for them, could see them very handily placed, but they are such a negative side, they will probably declare too late to give themselves a chance to bowl us out[hopefully],or bat on too long. As for Chilton,[stonewall] this is the guy who when he was Lancs captain a few years back, batted on all the last day at -The Rosebowl.[When they had a lead of 330 plus at lunch on the last day],because he was frightened to declare unless Hants won the game. Baring in mind, with Corkie bowling really well, they had bowled Hants out for under 200 in the first innings.
  16. Have been up until tea both days,as you say Leicestersaint it is a shame no Hants player has gone on and scored a hundred like Chandrepaul. For a game we have [sort of] had under control, we are probably not in the position we should be. We need to try and get a big enough lead,so that we do not have to chase too many in the last innings[weather permitting]. The fact they have two left arm spinners in their side, will make any reasonable target[200 plus] very difficult to chase batting last. Kent being in a good position, could actually see us in the bottom 2 by sunday evening, albeit with games in hand.
  17. I am disabled and live in Hedge End. I am fortunate enough to be able to get to home games of my own accord. However, this is a really worthwhile initiative, and I sincerely hope that you get enough takers to get the scheme up and running. It is a very commendable idea.
  18. Gemmell did you get my pm re-Greggs?
  19. We have already signed the best two full backs in league1[i know Richardson is injured],and Butterfield is decent also,if that does not show that we are only after the best available players we can attract, what else can the club do. Some of the people on this site defy belief,I am sure AP and NC have the potential new signings totally under control. One might add Darren Carter would be a very good signing for this level.
  20. NC brought the investment with him,end of argument.
  21. Defining.[We go up,all the top players stay,we do not, then we have a major re-building job][Personally I think we will make top 2,but it will be a lot harder than some on here think].
  22. Like every other prospective signing, just another rumour, until the club sign a player[or players, that were on no media radar].
  23. I agree with you Steve, that if Corkie stays captain for the season, that will be a good thing.I hope he gets another contract as well.[unless he decides to go full time with Sky.
  24. Look in the record books, and no one will ever get within 300 wickets of Murali. Can someone explain to me how you can spin a ball like Murali,if it was a throw? Not a fan of Murali in particular, but some of the opinions on here beggar belief.
  25. Ask the likes of Gooch,Gatting e.t.c who was the best bowler they ever faced, they will all say Malcolm Marshall. We were incredibly lucky at Hampshire to have two of the all time greats in Malcolm Marshall and Barry Richards.
