Perhaps,he could be used just as a free kick specialist[like goal kickers in the NFL],when the free kick favours a left footer. Seriously though,I do not think he would improve the team,one iota.[Maybe in his prime,but not know].

Surely Steve the bigger lead we have by lunchtime,or just after gives us a bigger chance of winning.We are hardly likely to win with a lead of only 110ish.[They have a decent batting line up] However,the weather remains an issue,and unfortunately the wicket is still playing well,so a draw is the most likely result[unfortunately]. Ironically,that lost day,may well have cost us the chance of winning the game. I would be delighted to be proved wrong,and we manage to bowl them out.

Magnificent batting performances by the two James,well done in particular to James Vince,and hopefully that will the first of many,especially for Hampshire.

Seems like an excellent signing.The fact his english is so perfect,when explaining his reasons for signing is even more impressive.

Patently not good enough.We need a decent box to box midfielder who can chip in with 10 goals.Hammond is not capable of either.

Puncheon has the ability to be a decent player,hopefully he can start being more consistent,and show us the potential he has.

On another day we could of had 6.Absolutely awful goal to give away,a free header from a corner.We are still,one dimensional,having said we could have scored 6. The midfield is the main concern,and Hammond in my opinion is definately not good enough.Puncheon maybe irritating when he does not release the ball,but at least he tries to create,and never hides.Jaidi is a worry as he looks past his sell by date,and Davis will never be capable of controlling his 6 yard box. So plenty to work on,to get better,and I fear for AP,if we cannot beat a team with Orients limitations.

Good win,Hants have now won 18 and lost 16 overall.Pretty good since they lost the first 8 games outright. I still think a lot is to do with Corkies captaincy,he certainly leads from the front,I am sure the youngsters in particular love playing for him.

At least 18 out the next 22 at home ,are must win,if we want to go up as champions.Especially if we only win 8 away like we did last season.

You are right Turkish,and Hampshire definately need him next year.[Hopefully as one day captain].

Magnificent performance,well done in particular to Corkie,who has totally galvanised the side since becoming captain. Also as previously posted well done to Marcus Trescothick,for showing the true meaning of sportsmanship.[My uncle as a Somerset,member knows a few of the players including MT,and says he is a fantastic guy. Finally well done to Abdur Razzaq,for finally coming to the party.[i am delighted he proved me wrong].

Markus loved this club,we as fans love this club,that says it all really.It is very sad Markus could not see the journey through to its fruition.[All the so called fans on here,who are basically just glad to have a club to support,and are some how,totally indifferent to the passing of a wonderful human being,should go and have a very hard look at themselves in a large mirror].

I would not think Hughes is here yet. I hope Razzak is available,never thought I would say that.

Puts a lot of things in perspective,really sad anyone dies at such a young age.

Decent as holding midfielder,dodgy as centre back.His days here were numbered when he gave away needless penalty against Derby in play off semi-finals in 2006/07. That mistake ultimately cost us any chance of reaching Wembley and winning promotion.

My major worry before the season started was whether we can handle the pressure being favourites to go up. Every game now becomes must win[and must certainly at least draw],because os saturdays result. Consequently beating Bournemouth tonight and winning saturday at MK Dons[the worst side I saw the whole of last season] is an absolute necessity,anything less and unfair as it may seem,I think tenure of AP as manager is on very dodgy ground. As from tonight, we have to show we have that winning mentality,and ability to cope with the pressures,of being favourites to win the league.FWIW,I think we will finish runners up in the league.
