Happy new year to Ron Davies, the man will always be a Saints legend.
-
6 points in the next 2 games could see us top3. Should be possible, but with Saints we just never know. As of now we are in a great position to kick on for automatic promotion.

Chaplow - signed a 2 and a half year deal - OFFICIAL

Great news, excellent player, who makes the midfield tick when he plays. -
Hope we can now rap it up 3-1.[i predicted 2-2,before the series,so I hope I am wrong][Anyone know the odds for 2-2?],before the series started obviously.

I did not make today,as I had to take my mother to Salisbury to my sisters.Sounds like I missed the best attacking performance of the season,by some way. Pleased to hear Rickie played well, and as has been alluded too, some Saints fans seem to love a scapegoat. It appears Guly seems to have taken the mantle from Puncheon,do some want him driven out of the club as well.

Talking cricket,as I cannot start a thread, would it be right to assume that Hampshire have signed Myburgh the South African because Sean Ervine is going to play for Zimbabwe again. Any ideas Ron.[From a personal point of view, this would be very disappointing as SE is one of my favourite Hants players]. Regarding England if the reports are to be believed Tim Tremlett could be the main strike bowler in the next test.

Has the ability, whether he has the attitude is debatable.

He is a sportsman you know, and as his dad is well connected,I expect he asked him for a ticket. -
The defining moment of the season will for me be if/when we fail to make one of the two automatic promotion places.I just do not think the players would have the bottle to go up via the play offs.
-
If England can bat for at least the next day and a half we can hopefully bat them out of this match and being able to win the ashes.[As is unlikely that there will not be a positive result in this match now, after first day events]. The fact it is now definately last chance saloon for them after their very mediocre batting performance, may make this slightly harder to acheive. We are still in an excellent position.

For some reason the players lack mental backbone, this worried me when the bookies made them overwhelming favourites to win the league.[ I thought they would be second, but am not sure of that now]. The even bigger worry is if we do not go up automatically, because do these players have the bottle to win the play-offs,if we reach them?

Saints 0 Brentford 2 - Post Match Depression
corsacar saint replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Derry is basically spot on,although 4/5 players maybe nearer our requirements with Fonte,Chaplow and Barnard to come back. Also I do not think it is fair to castigate NA until he gets some of his own players in.[The substitutions today were far too late, but did he have any better offensive options on the bench][Maybe the fitness of Connolly is not up to much more than a cameo role?] -
Is Adkins living up to your expectations?

Until NA has his own team,he cannot fairly be judged. -

For the second time in a month Brighton lose, and low and behold so do the Saints bottlers. To say we were poor, would be being kind. The team today is miles away from the team that played last season. No passion,no guile,no midfield,no finishers,no one holding the defence together. On that showing we need 4/5 new players at least in january. Well p***ed off, simply not good enough, and for the record I expect their entire team earns less than one or two of our prima donas. As for the best shot stopper in the league. -
Very good interview on BBC site, yet some on here still knock NC for reasons only known to themselves.
-
Pardew came from the same language school as Beckham,Hoddle etc- i.e always speaking in the wrong tense. In comparison Adkins is very articulate, even if he is sometimes bland.
-
Nice gesture by NC and the club.
-
Really is sad how far we have fallen, but I suppose the only way now is up.
-
He is Lets B Avenues favourite Saints player,so at least one Saints fan likes him.
-
Thank you for posting. Brings back great memories, having seen all three games.
-
Why one or two on here belittle Blackpool and Ian Hollaway is beyond me. They have been a breath of fresh air in the premiership. As for Ian Hollaway the game needs characters like him, there are far too few characters in the game nowadays.
-
Thanks for posting, saw all three games, and they were very good times.

So.. Who do we want in the next round?
corsacar saint replied to SimonRichards's topic in The Saints
Anyone at home. A smaller club and we should progress,a big club and even if we do not progress it should be a good pay day. -
After the first 6 games,we were going nowhere fast, says it all really.

Jaidi was excellent in the last two games. Lambert is playing ok linking up the play, but it is now becoming imperative that he starts banging in the goals.
