They [bR] have conceded 74 goals so far,if we cannot add at least another 3or 4 to that total,it will be disappointing to say the least.

Rochdale 2 - 0 Southampton - Post Match Reaction
corsacar saint replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Shambolic first half tactics,Cocoa throws one in,and we could not hit a barn door in the second half. Not surprised,as this is our beloved Saints all over. It will be irony of all ironies if one of the pre season relegation favourites, stop us getting automatic promotion by getting the double over us. I hope we take this result out on Bristol Rovers on saturday.[For the record I do think in general since taking over NA has done a pretty good job,but he has to ditch the diamond, and play 4-4-2,which play to our strenghts. -
Rochdale V Southampton - First Half and Half Time Thread

At present they have a 4-0 goal aggregate against us,totally unbelievable. As -
Your sentiments are probably spot on,and Nigel Adkins deserves special praise for this.
-
We need to concentrate on 2nd,end of.
-
Some what ironic that 3 of are last 4 away games are against the only sides to have one at SMS.[Hopefully the only 3]. Before the Orient game 4 points would have been fantastic from the 2 away games,so would take a draw at Rocdale, although obviously a win would be preferable. Before the season started Rochdale would have been down for 6 points for us surely,so you have to take your hats off to them for beating us here, and doing so well in general. Gary Jones and Chris O Grady are the players we surely have to stop playing.MK Dons won 4-1 their a few weeks back so on that basis,a win could be possible. Hopefully Adam will play and we will go and attack them, which is our strenght, instead of sitting back against Orient in the second half. When we get pushed back[which luckily is not too often],we can sometimes be vulnerable.

Fantastic day to bat,let us hope we bat as well when we get in. As an asside is Myburgh any taller than Harry Pilling? Cannot be much in it.
-
How about Ryan Dickson to the above question.
-
We played well at times, might have been different had Wagstaff not missed the near open goal in the first ten minutes. I was very impressed with Ryan Dickson, what does he have to do to get a regular game?. I also liked the look of Dale Stephens,I hope he does not miss too many games.
-
A potential banana skin, who knows what that win at the weekend will do for their confidence. Hoping for a straight forward win,but when have Saints had one recently.
-
Karl Robinson has gone up in my estimation[not very hard after his prattish comments about us last season]. Anybody who cares to go onto Mk Dons website will see a reasonable assessment on todays game from him,and very complimentary comments about us as a whole.
-
I get mine washed every 3 to 4 weeks their, and have done for years.[unable to wash my own car due to disablement]. Always well impressed with the service, the english guy who owns it is a top guy,as is Yuri the latvian friend of Marian Pahars who is the manager.

Saints v Mk Dons, post match dissection...
corsacar saint replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
I thought the first twenty minutes we were too frightened to shoot, when we had a couple of very good shooting positions, The next 45 minutes we were pretty ordinary and conceded two awful goals,a free header from a corner with Davis yet again rooted to his line, and the second one due to Fonte and Butterfield failing to get tackles in.[Having said that I thought they were our best two players on the day with Lallana, for his second half showing. Once we scored we took them apart for 20 minutes, and had the finish from Lallana not gone agonisingly wide after a superb mazy run, which almost ended up one of the best goals I have ever seen. As an asside watching games as stressful as that, does nothing for a 56 year olds heart. -
If we can win our next 2 home games[should, but we are Saints],then we will be in a very good position, even if Huddersfield win tomorrow. However if we drop points and Huddersfield win,we are leaving ourselves with a lot to do,to catch them.

The 3-3 draw away to Nottingham Forest in the 4th round of the 1977 F A Cup. An all out attacking game from both sides which included for us Ball,Channon,Osgood,Williams. For Forest there were Woodcock,Burns,Birtles and the mercurial John Robertson, the only player I have ever seen who could cross the ball with either foot as well as Terry Paine. There were close to 40,000 at the game and the atmosphere was totally electric.[The replay which Saints won 2-1 was a magnificent game too].

As alluded to,the club are not going to reveal their hand to -The MK Dons before saturday ,or any other club we have still to play are they.

Rumour has it Saints are in big trouble!

If you read Florida Marlins clues it has to be Paul Duffen the former Hull chairman who was looking to buy Portsmouth allegedly[enough said]. This is the guy who was reportedly paying Jimmy Bullard 45,000 pounds a week. Again enough said. -
It would be totally ironic if we help them survive the season, and they beat us on May 2nd.[Having said that it is unlikely the football league will throw them out before the end of the season anyway.
-
This club has no debt, would that have been the case with SISU. Also Coventry are welcome to Dulieu.
-
Huddersfield are apparently unbeaten in their last eighten, since we thrashed them 4-1,so they now probably need to be taken as seriously as Peterboro,if not more so.
-
I agree totally with Badgers post,we should be good enough for 2nd,but the mental toughness of the team,is the major concern for me as well.[i pray that I am totally wrong].
-
Kenny is that fat keeper not Jimmy Walker who was voted man of the match in our Walsall debacle last month, and I believe he is 38 as well On a positive note Peterboro taking one point out of six this week is a massive bonus for us.

Charlton 1 - 1 Saints - Post Match Reaction

Simster how you are so far clear god only knows, you are one of the worst teams I have seen at St Marys this season. No doubt Glen Murray one of the few class players you have will score the winner at the athletics track against us in a few weeks time.[As an aside you do have a very good manager, who like Paul Lambert has instilled a winning mentality at your club. Finally why do you not gloat on your own board and keep off this board. Still totally ****ed off with this result,it does not auger too well ,if we only make the play-offs,just trying to be realistic, definately two points dropped. -

Totally ****ed off,we should really have won against a side so low on confidsence. We definately have to win our next two home games now. -
This has got 1-0 Charlton all over it. I hope another evening is not ruined by our beloved club.
