Without being pedantic our highest league finish in the last 20 years was 7th last season.[Albeit in league 1,and not in the premiership where we achieved 8th].For the record with that 7th finish last season,we did pretty well in the cups.
-
Good news, hopefully we will sign him permanently in january.
-
I said when he was appointed, that he was as good an appointment,as we could have made. I like the way,no player is immune to being left out or taken off, regardless who they are. Nice guy to boot.

Chaplow was superb,Chamberlain was superb, especially first 20 minutes, when he was given the ball so frequently.Lallana was top drawer second half, and the others were ok.However the way we defend balls into our box is a definite concern,a better side than Dagenham would give us numerous problems. For the record Jaidi looks well slim,it looks like NA is getting all the players much fitter. Summing up going forward we are virtually unplayable in this league, when we sit back, and encourage teams to get the ball into our box,we look very shaky at times.FWIW I have to admit that Harding played well tonight.

Best Value For Money Signings 1. Mark 'Psycho' Dennis...

I always thought you were a good judge of a player Kenny.[but then I doubt you would probably dismiss a player, that you have probably not seen play, like most on here].[Andy] -
Was it not Harding who was the wrong side of the player[summerfield],who scored the winner for Plymouth on day one of the season.
-
What does Dickson have to do,to get a game, and while we are on the subject, perhaps it is time Seaborne is given a rest, for Jaidi to come back in,for a game or two.
-
The worst home performance last season was a 1-0 win against Wycombe,a team who like D&R had just come up.We should have been out of sight by the hour mark, and ended up hanging on for the last 25 minutes. This is a game we should[and hopefully do]win comfortably, but it is also a potential banana skin.[Who can forget the Rochdale game, they were another team, who had just come up].

Saints 3 Notts County 1 - Post Match Reaction
corsacar saint replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Great win, poor performance for the first hour.We have to keep on winning. The way Brighton are going as well, the evening game on the 23rd of november, could attract 25000-28000,on the night. -
Great to win from a goal down.A bit worrying though that the heads went down, for a good 20 minutes after they scored. Despite having very gifted individuals in midfield, the balance is still not right.[i do not think we missed Hammond though] As for Andy Durso,is he fit to even referee in the Conference,he let an awful lot of very cynical Oldham tackles go in the second half. How Feeney got only a yellow card for that awful late challenge on Harding near the end,god only knows.
-
Very talented,NA is seemingly getting him to release the ball earlier. Why he is singled out with the booing, god only knows.[Then I suppose, one should never be surprised by the actions or reactions,of some of our so called fans.]

Best player you've seen play 'in the flesh'
corsacar saint replied to SO16_Saint's topic in The Saints
George Best by a country mile.[ To think Bobby Charlton rates Duncan Edwards the greatest player he ever played with,or has ever seen in his life][He must have been some player]. The greatest Saints player a toss up between my two all time favourites-Mick Channon,or Matt Le Tissier. -
Bitterly disappointed,it is bad enough losing, but to be totally outplayed for the whole game,is equally as hard to take. We have to string together at least 4 wins on the trot now.
-
I can see him replacing Harding,if he is given the chance. He was not in the -League 1 team of last season for no reason.
-
My all time Saints hero, along with Mick Channon.Happy birthday Matt.

Chaplow or Schneiderlin vs 'Udders?
corsacar saint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Is it a coincidence that since we signed Chaplow on loan, that Hammond has probably given his two best home performances for the club. I thought Chaplow was terrific on saturday,so NA has a tough call. I hope we can sign Chaplow in january,he certainly adds something to the midfield. -
As has already been alluded to,if we go up he stays. If not I am sure we will have more than a job,to keep hold of Lallana,Fonte,Schneiderlin and maybe one or two others.
-
Time to accept that it is unlikely we will go up
corsacar saint replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
We have made 4 points up on Brighton in the last 2 games.Anything is possible if we keep playing the way we are. My pre-season 2nd,or my mates pre-season 1st,are a lot closer than they were 3 weeks ago. -
Some of the football was excellent, especially the first half hour. When we start putting away the majority of our chances,we will run up a cricket score. If we play to the top of our game at Huddersfield it should be an absolute cracker.

Rupert Lowe did Good Things while he was at the club - discuss
corsacar saint replied to dubai_phil's topic in The Saints
The only decent thing Lowe ever did was finally leave, even then he had to be pushed. -
What football manager, does not waffle or roll out the cliches.NA is far more intelligent than most involved in the game, and will do for me.
-
I hope for Lee Barnards sake,he has not thrown his career down the drain,he has probably been our best player so far this season. However if he is proven guilty he deserves everything he gets. The club could certainly do without this,as things are definately moving in the right direction with NA.
-
Right man, right time, well pleased with the way things are moving forward.NA knows what he wants, and I see no reason, why he will not achieve his ambitions with us.
-
The way he celebrated scoring the two penalties on saturday, did not suggest to me in the slightest that he is anyway unhappy here.
