There we have it in a nutshell. Speculative comment followed by Condemnation based on speculative comment and you wonder why no-one takes you seriously
-
I thought Kuyt had a good WC!
-
Has anybody suddenly not rated the players who have left? If so, it is a shallow viewpoint. The comments were more about the attitude of the players leaving or seeking to leave. In MoPo's case the comments are less about his ability as a manager and more about Levy's shortsightedness as a chairman.

Koeman's first Southampton press conference 11/7/14
St_Tel49 replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Why can't the person managing the Press Conference simply say "We are not here to answer questions about other club's players or managers. Can we move on please" That women at the start was mind-numblingly tedious with her line of questioning. -
If they do then it is because they think he can do it. A lot of people were getting upset last year when we lost out on Buttner and made no attempt to get anyone else. Shaw didn't turn out too bad! Perhaps we should trust the judgement of the staff - they know more about the players than we do.

Is this a little dig at Pochetino from Cork?
St_Tel49 replied to Johnny Bognor's topic in The Saints
No - he is deadly serious -
No - we played some of the best football that I had seen us play up until then - it was just that the squad were too young and inexperienced and there was no end product. Portvleit (sp?) was much maligned for being asked to do the impossible and failing.
-
I would be hesitant to say that about any player now! Steve Davis for me.

Lallana completes move to LFC for a fee of around £25m

But if we don't will he throw his toys out of the pram and demand a transfer to TheUglyInside? -
We'd be biting off more than we could chew with him!

This sentence is a classic forum ploy of constructing a piece of speculation and then pronouncing on it as though it were a fact.

You are right! I'd completely forgotten that. My excuse is that I don't actually watch rugby all that often.

As a National Anthem I absolutely agree - a beautiful air but definitely not Anthemic. I loved the way the Scots took the Corries' "Flower of Scotland" and turned it into a de facto National Anthem. I cannot think that we have anything similar that we could do the same with.
-
I doubt if many catholics join in - though by the same token the Ulster contingent of the Irish Rugby team are rarely observed singing The Soldier's Song. Both sports in Ireland need a neutral anthem acceptable to both sides. On a broader point it is my opinion that GSTQ should be regarded as the Royal Anthem sung at times when the Monarch is present or represented and that each constituent country have its own anthem sung as well (I am disregarding the Republic v Royalist debate and dealing with the situation as is and likely to remain for the foreseeable future)

Would it not be easier for Liverpool just to move to St Marys?

No doubt you are right but in this case I think that he misheard something

Why?

Other clubs views on whats happening at saints?
St_Tel49 replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
We need to remember that a lot of (most!) ManU supporters are glory hunters and actually don't know all that much about football. -
He did - just like that!
-
You didn't offer £25m that's the problem. There was about £10m in ludicrous add-ons that may kid people in your part of the world but doesn't fool us.

I just thought that this could not be re-posted enough!
