LOL I checked this thread this morning it had 8 comments I knew it would get a few but eight pages in one day shows what's important to saints fans I suppose. I can't be arsed to read through eight pages but I'm guessing the summary would be Some people love NC he can do no wrong the ex saints legends are money grabbing free loaders trying to destroy the club............... Some people love the ex saints legends NC is a **** with no respect for the clubs history.......... Let me know if I missed anything

Rickie Lambert - League One Top Scorer Again?
doddisalegend replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
We should just get Oxo to run into the oppo box very fast with the ball and then fall over at the slightest touch we should get lots more penos and Lambert would shoot up the table. Penalty and Lambert = goal . It's a shame Lamberts free kick taking has gone done hill this season end of last season it felt like every free kick he took would bring a goal this season he can't seem to put one in. Maybe if we play 4-4-2 with N'guessan and Oxo chucking crosses into the box and Lambert in the box rather than out on the wing we'd see more goals from rickie like we saw against Exeter. -
Rickie Lambert - League One Top Scorer Again?

Maybe there's a reason M-S doesn't take their penalties prehaps he's crap at them...................... -
I don't think Oxo was bad was better first half than second and very unlucky on the penalty as it never hit his arm. Kelvin made some good saves too not sure bart would have done any better with the goals. Seabourne and Guly I agree were both very poor however in fairness to Seabourne Jaidi would never have coped with the pace of the posh attack either.

Us to win..................
-
Have to say I'm dissappointed. To throw away a two goal lead twice really is a bit ****. It seems each time we went two up we took our foot of the gas and invited them to attack us rather than going for the jugular. Guly sounded awful on the radio, and Seabourne sounded worse. Subs from Nigel seemed odd and I knew they'd score when there was five miniutes of injury to time at the end. I feel really down tonight I really thought we'd win the league this season but it looks like the other teams around us just aren't going to slip up this season and we will end up plays off at best.

Exeter 1 - 2 Saints - Post Match Reaction
doddisalegend replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Seems to me that Tisdale out thought Nigel for last nights match. It helps that Exeter know how their pitch plays (home advantage),but it was clear from very early on that Exeters system was getting the better of us yet Nigel waited a long time to try and change things. We won so it doesn't matter to much but there have been several times since Nigel took over were the opposition are getting the better of us from early on in games and management don't react until very late on Bentford and Hudders away come to mind. -

Listening on the radio last night sounds like we got away with it, played poorly but nicked the result. Still 3pts is 3pts. Dany N'Guessan sounded like a good player can't wait to see him in the flesh at SMS. Sounds like our midfield were back to their normal struggling selves. Hope Lambert gets some confidence from last night and starts finding the net on a regular basis for the rest of the season. -
What can we take forward from yesterday..

hah lol yeah I can see the half time team talK Nige - "well done lads good half I think we've proved we're better than Man U. Now go out there and lose this match we have more important things to worry about than beating Man U" -

That Dan harding is still the best LB at the club and Dickson needs to learn to pass to his own team.......... -
I could of sworn the first time Bart got the ball one of the ITV commentators said Niemi though I'm kind of spaced out on strong pain killers at the moment so I might of been imagining it.

Well quite

I had to watch this on the telly after putting my back out (my dad was quite happy to take my ticket though:rolleyes:) Thought we did ourselves proud really. Big complement that sir Alex felt the need to bring on the likes of Giggs and Nana of the bench. The players gave it their all what more can we ask for. Chaplow really was a bargain for 50K. Also goes to show why Harding is the dogs b ollocks and Dickson is well............ Had to feel for Butterfield as well he just doesn't have the legs to deal with PL pace still he gave it his best.

Surely the Man U game would have the opposite effect. If the players are desperate to play against Man U they would have used the Tranmere game to show NA that they were really up for it and deserved a place in the first 11 against Man U. None of them did so that means they either don't want to play against Man U so went out of the way to be really bad or the players were having another one of those off days they seem to have every six matches or so for the last two seasons whether there is a cup game or not......
-
I agree with the corners, set pieces in general are poor this season. Lamberts lost his ability to put a free kick in the back of the net and when we're not going directly for goal our corners and free kicks either don't beat the first man or sail high over everyone and into touch. Sounds like Tranmere yesterday had all sorts of different set piece plans to try out on the pitch.
-
Great I look forward to us hammering Man U 6-0 next Saturday then........
-
Funny though last years disaster of a season (the one we did so poorly at) we lost 11 games all season this season we've lost 10 already (most likely 11 by the end of next Saturday). Spouting the same old line all teams lose matches is fine but teams that want to get promoted or win trophies try not to lose very many matches. We are losing to many for my liking, however than can't all be laid at Nigels door.
-
I keep seeing it brought up on this thread but were does LM say in the article that he wanted free tickets?
-
This really, I've read the article he says things have changed but we should remember our past I quite agree. Hasn't asked for free tickets still goes to lots of games. He hasn't taken a swipe at anyone that I can see (except prehaps Lowe and the train picture).

Would you be feeling differently tonight if...
doddisalegend replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Not really last season my expectations were very low, this season I expected us to be in and around the top two all season that we haven't been is very poor IMO. We are arguably the biggest club in this division. We have resources other clubs down here would love to have even half of yet were in 4th with teams like Bournemouth and Brighton above us. Look at what Bournemouth are achieving on a team that cost a couple of quid and a pack of chewing gum, then tell me we are really doing that well. -
I'd love to work were you work, I know in my job if my team **** up the buck well and truly stops with me.

Well as NA was a keeper I'll trust his judgement about who to put in goal. I suppose you'd like Fonte replaced as well? as he was just as much at fault for the first goal.
