  1. I thought it was LB and he was ****ing awful.
  2. Have Burnley signed anyone yet? Seems like they've decided to stick rather than twist on Europe and in the league. I wonder if their fans will bang on about lost opportunities and a lack of ambition...
  3. Yeah his terrible first touch, inability to trap a ball, and lack of crossing ability would all be useful traits in that role...but at least he is quick
  4. We'd be lower down of course. Using a bag of a fag packet maths About 60 (after Celtic's cut) for VVD plus 10 for Tadic 70 million in This years spending circa 56 million plus Gudio 20 million 76 million out So about 6 million up. Mind you we will, hopefully, see some more sold yet so we will probably have spent less than we brought in by the end of the summer. Regardless on paper this summer we look to have actually improved the squad in positions that needed it so it's more positive than the last four windows.
  5. So Everton haven't signed anyone yet?
  6. If hadn't gone Man U he wouldn't have a FA cup winners medal which I'm sure is a lovely reminder of a nice day out at Wembley where he got to watch the whole final sat down for free....
  7. I lack of on field leadership seems to have been an issue the last couple of seasons. Someone to organize at the back has been a problem as has having a senior pro who leads by example. Davis, Yoshida and Bertrand always seem quiet on the pitch when they've been captain. Probably a bit leftfield but Austin seems to be popular in the squad and a good talker on the pitch always quick to offer encouragement or a rollicking when required. Of course he have to share the responsibility with someone else for half of the games in a season...
  8. http://www.insidefutbol.com/2018/07/15/former-west-ham-star-jose-fonte-terminates-dalian-yifang-contract/382763/ Jose Fonte has terminated his contract with Chinese club Dalian Yifang, the club he joined from West Ham United earlier this year. The Portuguese centre-back made eight appearances in the Premier League with West Ham last season, but the Hammers agreed to sell him for a fee of £5m.
  9. It was a great build up though a nice selection of passing moves between defence and midfield before that just punts it straight into his own goal.
  10. The opposition keeper still looks more mobile than Forster
  11. Gudio Carrillo managed 4 in 15 league games before he signed for us though he is a (allegedly) striker rather than a AM
  12. are you counting his (alleged) multiple logins or just his main one?
  13. No thanks.
  14. I smell sarcasm... A least I hope that's what it is
  15. The really awkward part about signing players is they actually have to want to play for saints..
  16. I said we struggle last summer after watching some of the pre-season games .... only to be told you can't predict anything with pre-season games.
  17. and Shaqiri is better than about 8 of them
  18. They offered £5 million for a young English player? no wonder we told them to do one. I don't really rate Targett but even I think he is worth more than 5 million in todays crazy market.
  19. just an opinion piece I think. They think we are well stocked in the striker department and a RB could be on the agenda (even though I don't think we've been linked with any RBs this summer)
  20. Its not odd though is it? Shaqiri is clearly one of those players who fancies himself as a bit special in his head he will walk into the Liverpool first eleven. Wages will be huge compared to Stoke, not doubt his low fee means a nice big signing on bonus and its Liverpool which players always get gooey eyed over playing for. From Liverpool's point of view he is a good player, for next to no money in todays market, that improves their squad depth.
  21. why can't you hold MoPe responsible for not playing a fit Austin?
  22. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/6768601/four-england-keepers-face-year-wilderness-premier-league-first-team/# While Forster is so far out of the plans of Mark Hughes at Southampton he is being hawked around to anyone willing to take him on loan. But with wages of £80,000-a-week there is a shortage of interest, with Saints now having to offer to subsidise the majority of his pay just to get him off the books.
  23. Hasn't Redmond been played through the middle as a second striker in the two pre-season games? He looks better there I think. I think we will, based on pre-season and the end of last season, be playing three at the back with wingbacks which does not really require pacey wide men which makes me think Redmond and Mo will be played in behind Austin or Gabbi.
  24. Which we clearly aren't going to get. We could also do with competition for Cedric but the doesn't look like happening either. In the end we have had four poor transfer windows the last two seasons its unrealistic to expect us to repair all the damage in one window. Having said that I'd say this is the most positive transfer window we have had the last two years. Only time will tell if that turns out to be the case.
  25. Should have made Ali G foreign secretary for the duration of his visit...
