I used to discuss this (in the pub of course) on a regular basis with a friend who is a Birmingham fan. We decided that it would have to be 1 of the Big four. Like me, he knows the frustrations of not being a glory supporter, of having all the plastics take the mick. of losing more matches than you win etc etc. Normally you just acquire your team by a process of osmosis and you can never change. If Saints were to disappear & I could choose a team we agreed that there was no point in choosing to support a proper football team like saints (or in his case Brum) - I might as well choose to be a glory hunting supporter of one of the Big 4. It couldn't be Arsenal - because they have not won anything for yonks and yonks and yonks and what is the point of being a glory supporter if you don't win anything? When we lived in Liverpool (both of us went to uni there) we tended to watch Everton & not Liverpool so it could not be them. Chelsea could well go bust if Roman were to leave... and having lived through 1 administration I couldn't bear to go through another. ManU have carp fans who everyone hates so I couldn't support them. so in the end it was a good job that it was all just hypothetical.

Here's a good bet. Most firms are offering c 4/1 on Pompey being relegated. Apparently they were 6/1 but for some reason their odds are shortening!! But you can get 10/1 on Pompey being bottom at Christmas with Bet 365. I reckon thats a cracker!!!! .

Presumably that is Marcus Liebherr who came from those parts and saved the Saints.

I disagree with his views. I don't like his style of posting. I don't like the PM's he sends out I believe he is a troll. BUT He is fully entitled to his views and this forum would be a whole lot worse without him. I hope that he considers a thread devoted to him as a compliment.
