  1. With great reluctance I have voted yes. I like Martin and when his style of football works it is very attractive. Unfortunately after 11 games I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't work in the Premier Leagye for a team with our resources. Who would replace him? Who would make those decisions? Unfortunately I have no confidence that they would make a good decision and things will not get much better.
  2. Football was better in the 80s. Saints were one of the best teams in the country. None of this top 6 bollocks. We should have done the double in 1983 / 84 and if it hadn't been for Heysel we would have had some good European ventures .
  3. Who will replace him? Knowing this lot it will be some 28 year old who has been a hit in the Lithuanian league. Perhaps stick with Martin.
  4. Well according to you they are totally crap and wouldn't last a weekend against the Russians. We might as well give up on defence and just plough more money into social services and the NHS.
  5. Agree that betting odds are often a good way to judge how a vote is going. There is a view however that this time some of the Trump supporting billionaires are trying to distort the odds. A bet of 24 million dollars was placed on Trump for example. The aim is to encourage the view that Trump is going to win this easily. Several polls lately which have found Trump to be leading have come from Republican backing organisations. If everyone starts to think he is bound to win and he doesn't win it means that Harris must have cheated and a whole new ballgame starts.
  6. I am prepared to be shot down in flames but I think that Harris is going to win this and it won't be as close as the polls suggest. Why? 1. She has the money and resources to afford a much better organisation. She will get the vote out better than an out sourced PAC does for Trump. 2. Early voting returns in the 3 rust belt states favour her and internally each party knows that. If Trump was as confident as he claims he would not have tried to get some of the early Pennsylvania votes disqualified. 3. Trump appeals to people who do not necessarily vote. Harris is hitting home with women who do tend to vote. 4. The mid term elections in 2022 were meant to be a Democrat bloodbath. They were not with the thinking being that voters were tired of the Trump bombast and abortion rights energised women to vitr Democrat . Trump is certainly not any less bombastic this time and abortion is still an issue. I accept that I may be completely wrong and there could be a Trump victory - perhaps even a landslide. I just think it is very unlikely.
  7. With Badenoch in charge there is no way that the Conservatives will be in power in 5 years time.
  8. Employer contributions for pensions and NI will still be much smaller than what is paid in Europe. My company employed French salesmen and the rule of thumb was to double the cost of their salary to work out the total cost of employment. Germany wasn't much different. If we want public services to be as good as on the Continent we will need to expect similar levels of taxation.
  9. Nursey left the laptop on whilst she attended to another inmate.
  10. I am sorry mate.... I can and I do. That is why I enjoy reading your batshit crazy posts.
  11. Am I the only one who enjoys Crazy Nic's posts for their comedy value?
  12. I understand with what you are saying and cannot disagree with some of your points. I believe however that the risk of any assisted dying system evolving into one that encompasses more than the terminally ill is far too great. Everyone has their own views on this subject. My views are coloured by having lived with a very disabled wife. At least MPs are being allowed to vote with their consciences.
  13. If you read back through this thread, the opponents of assisted dying are not objecting necessarilyon the sanctity of life argument. There are other issues involved which are being debated in a sensible, rational manner.
  14. Don't want to go to Duckie's ale house if they sit around talking about dead sportsmen`s dicks. 😁😁
  15. Apparently last year 40 Britons went to die at Dignitas in Switzerland. Only 20 of these would have been covered by the proposals contained in the proposed legislation. If the proposed legislation was to be passed, I am sure that there would be immediate calls for it to be widened to include other people - such as the other 20 who would have missed out.
  16. In countries such as Canada, where assisted dying is allowed, the scope of the legislation has been widened since its first introduction to include people without terminal illnesses. Disabled people and older people now come under its remit. Proponents of assisted dying say that would never happen here, there would be safeguards, we wouldn't allow it, blah blah blah. They said that in Canada as well. There is an interesting documentary on bbc iplayer by the disabled actress Liz Carr (silent witness) which covers this angle. Well worth watching (despite Lighthouse' s opinion) if you want more information.
  17. A pity that you didn't have a sufficiently open mind to watch the whole documentary . Clearly you have never been close enough to disabled people to understand their way of thinking.
  18. Its not nonsense and your insistence that it is demonstrates an inability on your behalf to fully comprehend the issues around this highly contentious issue. I am surprised as you normally come over as being sensible and open minded.
  19. I wouldn't be so sure. This Collin Rugg that you are quoting seems to be a Trump apologist. In other Twitter posts that he makes he refers to TV presenters being "far left". Far left?? A presenter on American mainline TV?? Do us a favour. I bet he believes that Kamala is a Marxist. When people succumbed to heat at Tim Walz's rally, he stopped speaking, arranged for them to to be treated but then carried on. No cancellation of the event . No swaying to music. No Dad dancing. Trump's cognitive ability must be questioned. He is the oldest Presidential candidate ever and his refusal to release his medical records makes me doubt his mental state.
  20. The bloke is losing it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/10/14/trump-music-sways-town-hall/ There must be serious doubts about his mental ability.
  21. He is not going to last the next 4.5 years of this government. He will have worn himself out with anti Labour exhaustion long before then. 😁😁😁
  22. How can JRM reform the Tories whrn he doesn't believe in computers??
  23. No Duckie. You are pretty unique. There are very few like you around. 😁😁😁
  24. Yeah. Bloody Disraeli and his idea of One Nation Tories. Pinko. Not a true Conservative.
