  1. Isn't Stephen Hunt more famous for doing Peter Cech - so to speak - than actually being a good footballer? a slightly ugly - dirtly little player - with a big ego! As for his replacement - that's why they bought Tabb isn't it! I think we face more danger of losing Surman (and Lallana) if Bullard leaves Fulham!
  2. Lee Hoos thought he was a great wheeler dealer at buying players - I mean we did great to bring in Euell, John, BWP, Skacel, Thomas, Rasiak and Saganowski on inflated fees and wages! But according to Jim Hone the only way of getting a takeover was to spend money on these sorts of players! Anyone know where Jim Hone and Andy Oldknow are now?

    Siejes

not as good as I'd hoped a bit headless and certainly hasn't gelled with Kelvin! I don't think they like each other!
  4. I've accepted will be relegated I just take the mickey out of the guy at work who supports Charlton and Pompey! It makes me laugh anyway!
  5. Stu you'd say the same thing about the True Saints Association if it still existed, SISA if it was actually doing anything and the Saints Trust whatever it did your just one of lifes irritations who like to have a go at anyone and everything - your the Piers Morgan of Saints fans - and a Daily Mail columnist in the making! 20 years from know you will be the new Richard Chorley or Perry McMillan - only they actually put there money where their mouths are and did something if you are going to constantly have a go - at least do something yourself - otherwise you got nothing to shout about and nothing to stand on
  6. 24-28 without a doubt old enough have the experience, but still young enough to have the legs apart form those prodigys like Owen, Fowler, Rooney who seem to peak at 17-21 and then fade away due to injuries and burn out if they are good enough they may be old enough at 19 or 20 - but the only problem is they burn out before they can be truly great at 24-28 none of our players are good enough to be old enough or old enough to be good enough! we don't actually have any players in their prime in the squad. Pulis is 24 (although in terms of games played he's about 20!) and BWP is 23 (again probably 21!) then its a great leap to Saganowski and Saejis at 30!

  8. Wilde's PR people were doing exactly the same thing at the same time!
  9. his shares are only worth £300K though now aren't they!?! the problem together with his old school friends and the Askham set they own about 30%of the club between them and then there's Wilde and that Asian guy who bought a chunk of shares to make a profit!

    Schneiderlin

its simple really - both Surman and Schneiderlin are creative midfielders - surman is slightly more attacking and Schneiderlin a bit more of a playmaker we need to play a hodling or defensive midfielder in the middle with one of them - it should be Gillett/Wotton/Pulis and Surman or Spiderman I'd play Gillet and Spiderman in the middle with Surman on the left of a 4-4-2 or Gillet, Surman and Spiderman as a midfield 3 in a 4-3-3
  11. they are also certain people who post on here who sat on the Saints Trust committee - and who call for action now - who always turned up to meet the Chairman and directors of SFC but strangely were always busy somewhere else when there was actual work to be done Funnily these same people always took ownership of actions or areas but never the responsibility and failed to deliver time after time
  12. what has changed? The apathy of Saints fans at large ensured th Trust failed last time - along with the personal jealousy, egomania and vitriol of certain people who didn't get involved from the start but wanted to destroy it or take it over
  13. The Trust should organize an open meeting and invite people like Fulthorpe and Le Tiss to speak Only problem is Chorley, MacMillan and co will hijack the meeting, destroy any unity and scars off any sand investors or potential saviours Over the last 4 years those two and there cronies have done far more harm than good and a lot more than even they realise Little corporal syndrome I think it's called!
  14. what are the odds on Stoke getting relegated now though! Delap, Higgi, Beattie - none of them are or were really trut Premiership class players! Sure Delaps learnt a trick in the long throw thing but he's a one trick pony for the most part Higgi - an aggressive tackler - but an awful tendency to lump it to nowhere Beattie - when he was younger with pace and energy - and gave it 110% maybe - not now though (ask an Evertonian)
  15. I wonder why Lowe asked him that?
  16. playing wingers on the wrong side playing midfielders at full back with no protection in front of them not playing a holding midfielder to protect a shaky defence putting square pegs in round holes not having a plan B
  17. not as good as I hoped probably a little better at going forward than defending, and a slightly better passer than tackler a lot of room for improvement - but hopefully with a few games under his belt he will not as bad a James at right back though
  18. Wilde is the most to blame for our current dire straits - he ousted Lowe with false promises, spent £7 million we didn't have, let Hone and his cronies takeover and make things worse ...and then Crouch had restored some kind of sanity at the club and brought in Pearson Wilde sided with Lowe out spite putting him back into power and allowing this stupid Dutch experiment to take us down Wilde needs to sell his shares and go back to Liverpool from where he came -and leave us alone

    Leandre Griffit

Griffit and Folly! 2 players that got away. Did the club fail them or they fail the club though? Personally I think we should have stuck with both of them and given them the time - and coaching - to progress at Saints. I thought when we got relegated they would become mainstays of our CCC team - along with Surman, Dyer, Cranie, Mills, Blackstock and Best! a 4-3-3 with Griffit, Blackstock and Best at the front, Surman and Folly in midfield would probably be a lot better than what we've got now or had in recent seasons
  20. they said that at the time purely to push through the takeover by SISU - which was a bad deal for all of the shareholders - by putting pressure on them to accept the offer As part of the Saints Trust I had several face-to-face conversations with Hone, Hoos and Oldknow about the club living within its means we argued that not only was operating at break even and living with its means essential for the long term survival of SFC it was also the way to attract a buyer they disagreed and thought the only way was to throw more bad money after bad money and push for a play-off place to attract a takeover they seemed to ignore the fact we were in a relegation battle at the time at the time I really didn't understand where they were coming from - and could only think they had some hidden agenda
  21. saying that Lowe has made things worse with his return by going Dutch - we'd be a lot better off now if Crouch was still chairman and Pearson still manager I'd like to see the back of Wilde first and foremost - but followed closely by Lowe and Cowan for good - and ultimately by yes men such as Jones! At least with Crouch you know where his heart is - and that he is trying to do the right things for the right reason - he may not always get it right it has to be said!
  22. and that is probably the most depressing thing - if Lowe had stayed as Chairman we would probably be financially stable and have a better team full of young and promising players like Cranie, Mills, Best, Blackstock, Baird, Surman his vision of the academy and home grown players is a good one - its just a bit too late for it now! Wilde has been nothing but bad for this club and made a crisis into a disaster and a bad situation much much worse
  23. Lowe got us relegated there is no doubt about that - with his penny pinching in the premiership, a squad full of journeymen and his 10 managers in 10 years and particularly with his choice of Sturrock, Wigley and Redknapp but Wilde and his execs put us in the state we are in now - facing relegation again and possibly adminstration. It was Wilde who ousted Lowe and Co and then appointed Hone, Hoos and Oldknow -and also promised to spend £7 million that was never there Hone & Co then ousted Wilde and continued to spend the £7 million that never was - even though they new it didn't exist - and it was the main reason they'd ousted Wilde this is what Crouch fell out with them about - spending money we didn't have and money which wasn't even theirs! Jones was and is simply a yes man - not a Financial Director
  24. problem is we really needed a good young centreback at the time - and we still do yet again Mills and Cranie probably would have been much cheaper options - and probably just as good - not to mention Baird perhaps we should have played Cranie and Mills and offered them decent contracts (so they wouldn't have left us on tribunal fees) and not wasted our money on Thomas amd Davies maybe we should have kept Baird as well - in the long run he would have been a much cheaper option than Thomas or Davies even though at the time we needed the cash from his sale
  25. and to think we got rid of Dexter Blackstock as result of bringing in BWP - probably a much cheaper and a better player!
