  1. I think it was a question.
  2. Gotta feel for the fella, he's clearly an addict and is suffering big time. The way he's going it's either recovery or death, but he won't get well if he doesn't accept he's ****ed and accept help.

  4. This. If he had the ability to improve is last season, Ralph would have played him.

    Nathan Redmond

I suspect he'll know that better players at bigger clubs will earn more, and have more chance of winning something. The bigger danger is in being dropped in favour of the likes of lingard - it'll confirm that he's s got more chance of selection if he's at a bigger club.
  6. To suggest Mccarthy's performances after long absences has nothing to do with coaching is just silly. It's only in here where negative performance is down to coaching but that positive performances isn't. Pathetic.
  7. So what/who was the reason for Mccarthy huge improvement? Osmosis? Or Watson?
  8. Doesn't Watson do much more than 'coach' our keepers. I'm pretty sure that RH said recently that he did the corner routines where we have looked decent. In terms of keepers coaching, Mccarthy tailed off last season but before that he'd come on massively and Watson has to be due credit for that. Forster was half decent when he arrived, no more than that, and there are strong rumours that his down turn in fortunes are health related rather than anything else. What's this assessment that he's sh1te based on?
  9. This was Merrington. I heard the minibus story years ago from one of the young players on the minibus when the lads were talking about Higgins behaviour. He told me that Merrington stopped the bus that day to find out what had been going on, and blew the whistle sharpish. Massive credit to him, and his actions led to Higgins resignation and stopped him abusing other lads at the club.
  10. Just suppose you get some answers, what will you do next? All your worry and angst seems completely futile to me as it won't change a single thing.
  11. Yep. Sad thing is I doubt that they'll play unless there are injuries.
  12. Why does it? Does a **** shirt really change how you feel about the team you support? Really? it's a kit, ie the uniform that the players where when they play for the club. I get the feeling that I am in a minority of not giving a monkeys what that kit looks like - I'm only concerned about what players are wearing the kit and how they play.

    SAYNTS

Get a grip. Decent video, and a bit of fun. A kit is a kit, I'm more concerned by the players wearing it.
  14. Amen. Grown men moaning about a footy blouse. Bless em.

    Virgil/Mane

Your earlier post, and this, are bang on. Our decision to hold onto VVD was ridiculous and that decision made that season more difficult than necessary. Our recruitment post the VVD sale has been shocking and one factor in that imo was the decision to hold onto VVD. Any player with potential who would once have seen us as the stepping stone club that we are (or were) is bound to have been put off by the clubs stance re VVD.

    Non-Saints Games

That was hilarious, the bloke wouldn't have it that you either win the league or you don't.

    Virgil/Mane

Agreed. My issue in that mess was with the club. Trying to keep him was pointless posturing that achieved nothing bit disharmony and disruption. Back to the thread, they both will have moved for nights like that as well as the dollars, and fair play to them for being part of one of the best comebacks football has ever seen.
  18. Yep, it's a no brainer. McCarthy won't take the gloves off Gunn. Neither will Forster. McCarthy has value. Forster doesn't, and is costing a fortune.
  19. Can't agree. The change was logical and tightened us up, pushing JWP further up. Redmond offered pace up front. Sensible change for me.
  20. And that's exactly why he went for Valery.
  21. He's slipped backwards imo. I'd take a fit and firing Lemina over JWP all day long.

    Stephens

We disagree. Turkish explained it well so please read what he said. In summary though - someone can be a decent footballer without being a good defender. There's no debate that Stephens is a decent footballe, the issue is whether he's a good enough centre back.

    Stephens

He's a talented lad and a decent footballer, but imo he's not a centre back. Right back in a 4 perhaps, or holding midfield, but just not a centre back. He's so bad in the air for a big lad, goes to sleep, and his positional sense is shocking. His confidence is clearly shot and he needs a move but moving him on with his wages won't be easy.

    Ched Evans

I said "In this case its you who assumed Evans was innocent." That followed your post, just a few posts above, where you said "I don't like seeing individuals convicted of a crime when I'm not sure they have committed that crime" You have/had clearly formed an opinion that Evans had not committed a crime. Please do not call me a liar when I quote your own words! I'll leave it here as this is futile so fill your boots in having the last word.
  25. Ditto, although my assessment was also based on seeing him play for us, both in the 1st team and reserves/u23's before and after that Reading spell. I didn't see a premier league player in him but in his matches under RH he's done well. What's surprised me is how he seems to have time on the ball and use it intelligently - he took his time before his ball in for Redmond's first and he put it on a plate.
