Huddersfield winning as expected
-
If Cortese doesn't build the fairground at SMS, he can go as far as i'm concerned. His plans don't match helpmerhonda's.
-
Didn't realise they were so depleted, blimey.
-
I doubt it will tbf. The FA/FL knows that pitch invasions will happen up and down the country on the final day for different reasons, they're not going to punish anyone for it - they never have before.
-
Same happened that day, Newcastle won 2-0 - secured promotion but relegated Plymouth at the same time. Always thought it was quite odd that Plymouth were so generous as to play that....although maybe they felt they were down before that game anyway.
-
Complete and utter rubbish. Name me a right sided player that has got the better of him this season? If you're big enough to make a claim like that then you should be able to state the games and the players that have made him look foolish.
-
Outstanding free transfer. He's such a steady eady, nothing specacular but he does such a consistant job. He's probably dipped below 7/10 once or twice in his saints career - if there's anyone you can rely on when he's picked it's Harding. He'd get into plenty of championship teams starting 11.
-
Unfortunately mate there were people around me on 81 mins moaning because we weren't getting it forward quickly. Their responses ''Goal difference is going to be crucial, we need goals'' errr.
-
Some fans don't seem to understand the term winning professionally. Which is what we've been doing for months and doing very well. It's what good teams do. At the end of the day we have had a hectic schedule, we have 2 tough games in quick succession next weekend. What's best? Play your socks off and push forward to try and score more...or slow it down, take a breather and play out the final 10mins at 2-0? I know what I'd tell the players to do if I was manager.
-
Yeah - I must admit, I've got them down for a win in that one too. Brighton have lost that ''edge'' and Huddersfield have everything to lose....only one winner. We just need to make sure we do the biz. Fair play to Huddersfield though, I honestly didn't see it getting this far! I thought they'd drop some points in their games at Charlton and MK Dons...
-
Interesting reading back - so surprising to see how far Charlton have dropped, I forgot how much everyone was fearing them a few months back. I can't even see them in the top 10 anymore.....
-
Good professional result, which we have got a habit of producing at the moment. Was hoping Daggers would do us a favour today (they almost did tbf) but onto Saturday......it's going to be pretty nerve racking! Brentford are a decent team but they now have nothing to play for. We really need to win one of our remaining 2 away games though - I fear we'll drop points at Plymouth as they'll be fighting for their lives...amazing they still have a chance.
-
He's not a liability at all. Posts like this do my nut in.
-
He's always been a talented player, just unfairly tainted with relegation and the Wotte era etc. With some decent coaching behind him he'll be decent - he's got some terrific qualities. MK Don's fans raved about him when he went there for a couple of games...
-
No chance, wouldn't have him in our team at the mo either.
-
I think we just have a knack of winning, we're not playing particularly badly at all. Our normal ability is above this level and the majority of this squad would compete in the level above without any issues. (We've loaned our reserve LB to the championship ffs!) Over the last couple of months we've just been very professional and have often dominated the games we've been involved in. Alot of it is down to how people define a poor performance. Is it because we didn't score more than 5 against Rovers? Is it because we let in goals against Carlisle? etc.
-
''adkins F off! SCC F off! did someone say CHAMPIONS! and onto the more important matter... HELLO PALARSE! CANT WAIT TILL THE DERBY NEXT SEASON. It's going to be HUGE!'' Idiots.
-
I think you're the bull****ter to be honest. Go away.
-
God I remember that game, their game plan revolved around stopping us playing football, time wasting and showing no ambition to win the game themselves. In fact I thought they were one of the worst teams we've played at home this year.
-
Nope....we conceded just before HT, came out in the 2nd half much the better team tbh.
-
That's a very good point you raise there. Brightons game plan is revolved around them having time on the ball, lots of possession, passing it around, exploiting space etc. They don't really play another way. As you said the league above us a step up, players are fitter and stronger and Brighton will not have as much time or free space with the ball. I don't think we play 'hoofball'' all the time either, I think we intelligently mix it up and play to our strengths. Some of our goals this year have been fantastic footballing goals, yet some of them have been punts down the field, flick on and a goal. I honestly think you get more success in the championship by having a mixture of both - I thought this when we were in there with Burley, we played some great stuff but then Derby mixed it up a bit more and got the success from that.
-
That's really good to hear. Totally puts to bed the **** about players not wanting to play for Adkins. I'd imagine alot of his emotion was driven from the brighton fans constant abuse at him too.
-
Ref with a bit of common sense for a change!
-
They've made flags directed at us, changed their pre-match music montage for us and also had their programme printed with a sentence to get at us. All that effort and they still lost - good going. Why are they so bothered anyway? I couldn't care two hoots about them and I've never seen them as a rivalry and never will (Same with Bournemouth). Poyet's comments pre-match about this being a Derby game were nonsense - it's just another noddy club trying to find a rival. We have similar when we play Reading too, really sad.
