  1. He was alright, he's nice on the ball and likes the play it out from the back which is good. He looks like a tank too and had to contend with Miller for alot of the game, which I thought he did well. Some of his heading was a bit up in the air, rather than away, but he didn't do much wrong. He'll get better with us as well, no doubts.
  2. Really lucky win in all honesty, how they didn't score a couple more is beyond me. But we dug in and showed the grit and drive which is bred from winning games every week. A winning mentality can make all the difference. So pleased for Lambo, he's shown he can play at this level with no issues at all. 7 goals for him now I think - I reckon he could hit 20 again. If Holt can, then surley Lambo can... The two flanks got ripped apart most of the game, I'd prefer Corky in midfield but it was forced today unfortunately. Fox is exactly what Burnley fans said he was, great attacking, fantastic delivery, but always out of position defensively - which is what we saw today. Hopefully Adkins and co can coach a little more defensive nous into him. I'd feel much more comfortable with Harding and Richardson in the full back slots based on today. Credit to Adkins, I think the tactical switch on the hour put us back in control. Bringing Chaplow in and playing a diamond allowed us to get hold of the ball a bit more, but some of Forest's substitutes beggared belief. Nice to see McGoldrick is still as useless. Really pleased though, we just don't know how to drop points at home. 12 wins in a row, amazing!! Let's make it 13....
  3. Nice one, don't mind the new edit box - little bit snazzier. Hope the move over the weekend goes ok.
  4. Yeah, was a nominal fee under 100k. He still had 2 years under contract with us IIRC.
  5. I don't think the term emergency loan actually means anything. You can sign any player you want on a short-term 93 day loan when the window opens, I think the limitations come into affect when the transfer windows are shut and you need to make a quick move due to having no goal keepers etc. But the emergency loan window has been used to make permanent signings in recent years, i.e a 3 month loan with a view to a permanent £2m in January.
  6. No, he really couldn't do a job for us...
  7. He had a trial at P'Boro over the summer, but they decided against him for whatever reason. Not good enough for us, and we've already got 4 top quality midfielders.
  8. sainttomski - why do you think we'll get relegated??
  9. Cheers - the start has surprised us too! Beaten anything done in our history! Always felt a little sorry for you not going up last season, you did everything but - the end of last season was relentless from both of us. Was impressed with you signing Danny Ward and Mcdermott - surprised you haven't had more wins though. Reckon you'll do it the automatic route this year?
  10. They can't make everyone happy, but when you look at some of the awful chairman in this thread it puts into perspective how well off we actually are.
  11. That sounds like a v good deal IMO.
  12. He's done a great job, some will argue he did what was expected of him...but he was under enormous pressure due to the start we had to the season, and he got us flying by the end of it. So I think he deserves alot of credit for how he managed the squad through the 2nd half of that season. We seem to have gone up a notch this year, last year was all about getting out of that league, this year seems to be about building/assembling a team that can grow and play in the premiership. I think the fact we're not playing under so much pressure has brought about some of the amazing, relaxed football we're playing. I'm excited by the types of players we're being linked with, because it shows we're planning long-term and not going gung-ho like Leicester have - on players who are arguably championship standard at best. ...and also some of our players have improved so much under Nige, notably Rickie and his fitness/mobility and also Dan Seaborne who has got better and better IMO and I hope we see him again before long.
  13. Bar Niemi, That was such a bad team really, no wonder we went down. I don't think Quashie plays football anymore either, and he was arguably our better player after Anti in that team.
  14. By all accounts he was excellent when he came on at Leicester. I think Adkins wants us to have pacy/attacking wing backs long-term, which is why we're also linked with Clyne. Dan has been great for us, but I think Adkins is looking for more ''explosive'' pacy players. It'll make us an amazingly dangerous team on the break.
  15. You're right....I sold him for 26m in a game I played a while ago. Snap him up Adkins.
  16. I'd imagine alot will depend on how he trains this week, it would make sense to play him in positional footballing sense, but if he's not sure he's up to it fitness wise at the mo (he hasn't played a game for a while) then he may opt for Martin.
  17. Great news.
  18. Latest on Dan: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/9231736.Seaborne_remains__stable__in_hospital/
  19. Mame Biram Diouf? Been told he can go out on loan by Man Utd.
  20. To old for U21's I think, and he hasn't ever played for the senior squad. He's prob just going back home to see his missus as she's still stuck over there whilst he's in a Hotel here. Don't think we've got any internationals at the moment.
  21. I think Leigh has gone back to Scotland on Loan, not sure about Watt - is he a winger? He didn't do much at Leeds last year tbh. But I agree with the view that we need some pace on the bench, other than De Ridder.
  22. It's better news than we first heard this morning, but you have to fear for his career really - esp. in his position where you are constantly having to head the ball away. That's the least of the worries at the mo though, hope for his sake and his family that he makes a recovery to live a normal life.
  23. Christ, just heard about this. Hope he makes a full recovery from this, but it sounds really bad. Hope they catch the scum that did it.
  24. and this is why Adkins is our manager, and not half the people on here....
  25. Mitchell has been slaughtered.
