  1. charlton go 3-2 up, after being 2-0 down...
  2. so solent go back to the game, which was already in process. chance for leeds apparently. absolute awful coverage as usual then...
  3. I've missed the first half coverage...but managed to catch the updates on SSN, they were very complimentary of us , they can understand why we don't loose many games. They also said that on show these are ''two very high quality'' sides, matching each other.
  4. liverpool are complete dross
  5. RB - Priority imo. Let's see what City say if we put in a bid for Logan...the guy on-loan at Tranmere. and another CM - someone like Racon or Abdu (as i keep mentioning...) i think pard's has made a striker his priority though, he's mentioned in a few interviews that everything goes through lambert...and we don't have any cover for him. So i'd expect us to get a striker of a similar stature...patrick agyemang? he was interesting us in the summer and has been transfer listed at QPR.
  6. This is the effect that winning games can have. Not just on the players, but it spirals through the club so quickly and eventually through the city. - it doesn't matter which leauge you're in, winning just has a great effect. - and that effect can last for years (as shown with Reading for e.g) As has been said on other threads, Nicola and Markus will have got this feeling as well and im sure that's why we will have a fair bit of money to wave around in Jan.
  7. Leed's home and grown. He was on loan at scunny a few seasons back - but when leeds came down to L1 he became a prominent figure in their team.
  8. or tripple his wages! i don't think we'd get him though, it just wouldn't make sense. One thing though, Bates and Co would def. listen to offers for him - as he's out of contract in the summer and up to now has been refusing to sign. The thing is though...he's not signing because he wants to play in the championship, so he's waiting to see where they end up i guess.
  9. I'm not sure, they've not got that debt hanging over them anymore from the premiership days - and they pocketed £8m in the summer from selling Delph i know alot of Leeds' fans aren't too happy with the way Bates is withholding the money though...
  10. - clueless, deluded mongs. i see them as a great big whitehead, just coming to the surface...about to go pop. ok, not a great image - but i think it sums them up nicely.
  11. i've got a hunch that Morgan will miss out and we'll end up seeing James in midfield, with Thomas played at RB. maybe a blessing in disguise?
  12. I think Markus has probably looked at the situation...and he realizes that there is a chance if we could get up last season, than the ''5 year plan'' could become a 3 year plan. If we can just add to the squad a bit more in January with real quality, then we have a massive chance. for the first time ever, i'm really really looking forward to this window - we won't have to worry about losing any of our key guys either. I'd expect us to do another ''marquee'' signing. if that's beckford, i don't know - but Simeon Jackson is the next best option IMO...
  13. Don't you just get this horrible feeling that they will just get away with this (after eventually paying up their debts), and then stay up? they shouldn't be allowed to let it drag on this long, but this is the FA and PL we're talking about.
  14. ''I've watched John Rooney for the last 18 months or so and he is quite clearly a major talent, with a fantastic attitude. On the pitch he is very industrious and lifts his team mates around him. His shots from 20-30 yards out are as good an asset as his footballing brain and passing ability. I would like to believe he will help keep Macc up this season, but realistically I have to admit we are more likely to use his transfer fee to buy new talent.''
  15. stop worrying! he isn't going anywhere, he'll not get the same backing at any other club outside the premiership.
  16. I was reading up on Plymouths bid, and if we win the world cup bid they will upgrade their stadium to 48k....seriously, how can they sustain that? their average attendance is only about 10k, a stadium that size for a team like plymouth would be embarrassing.
  17. best draw imo, always good to play the deciding leg at home.
  18. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1906184,00.html another honest assessment from Pards. We've had managers previously who would have overlooked the below-par performance. I agree with that he said...we have a real spirit at the moment, we just will not lie down and you can never rule us out until the final whistle, it never used to be like that!
  19. The first leg is on the 18th of jan....then we have to wait a month untill the 2nd leg.
  20. and another plus...no yellows for our players on 4 bookings....so they should be available for Saturday.
  21. bart for me made a couple of cracking saves during the match too.
  22. we scored, they equalised, they took the lead on 60 mins we scored in 90mins + 3 to make it 2-2 then we won the shoot out, after 10 pens each or something. amazing.
  23. nah, we drew
  24. im stunned, i honestly was just waiting for the final whilste - i thought it was all over. but nope....fantastic, cannot praise this team high enough. They never give up and they drive to the end! so so good to be a saints fan right now.
