+1 we don't know the full status of the team, who was fit and who wasn't. There are many other variables to team selection and we will never know the full story. We know morgan was injured though, he's a massive miss, so we've had to counteract that slightly in the way we play. TBH some of the people moaning are also the same people that think Morgan is not good enough for us. That kind of nullifies any other opinion they have IMO.

i really think it's over now, well tbh it was over weeks ago - i'm just enjoying the rest of the season now. I think we can get a maximum of 76 points now, and we'll need ''at least'' that to even stand a chance. So we need to win every single game and hope that the teams above us collapse, it really isn't going to happen now. it's still a great to be even talking about having a chance though, none of us expected it!

brighton are a good side in this league, with a good manager. They have good individual players and gave us a good game. why some fans expect us to beat teams, simply because we are a ''bigger'' club bugs the **** out of me. It's not that simple.

It's a good post colin, but unfortunately the world is impatient these days, and i include football chairman in that. We are now expected to win every single game that we play, if we don't there seems to be a mass debate on how anyone else could have done a better job. Silly, but it's the way it is with modern football after spending some money. But the fact is that 2-2, with an equalizer in the last minute, against an in-form Brighton team is actually a pretty decent result. Obviously it doesn't do anything for us this season, but under normal circumstances (i.e a fair season, without deductions) it could be a massive result. At the start of the season a finish of between 8th-10th would have been more than acceptable and if we did a poll back then, i believe 99% of posters would also think the same. We have come a long way in a relatively short period of time. Tin pot trophy or not, we've just won our first silverware for decades - if that doesn't show some sort of progress to people, im not sure what will. enjoy the ride people, nothing comes easy with saints.

scrap that, we need to replace him during the first half if we are to have any chance. alpine is my shout.

clueless! they'll lose 80% of their current first team and will be left to get freebies and loans, building a squad to compete for the bottom half of the championship. if they are challenging for promotion next season i will agree with nickh's mind set - that they've got away with it.
-
the game is not being streamed anywhere, hth. correct me if im wrong, but i don't think there has ever been a live game at the withdean - due to the fact that it's not a good enough venue for the setup of a live broadcast. i'd guess in extreme cases (i.e playoff semi finals) they'd have to put in some sort of special stands/ramps for the cameras - but for a bog standard game like this, no chance.

just installed it on my blackberry storm2, doesn't work... asks for my username/password, i put it in, it loads for a little bit then displays a big (!) and closes the program. oh well, i'll wait untill it's out of beta.

just a twisted ankle apparently.

you can set it up with your mail accounts (hotmail/gmail etc). You can get some apps for it, but no where near the same amount as an iphone. To view the available applications you can download a little app to the blackberry called ''App World'' - and it lets you browse all of the available stuff, some are free and some you have to pay for. it's a nice little phone though, I've got the storm2 - which is the model just below the 9700. Wouldn't swap my blackberry for anything else!

TDD - Boos, I can clear this up once and for all

just watched back the highlights, and yes - he did get booed, not a massive amount, but he did. utter ****s. -
Was wondering this myself, couldn't get on the 6:55 from central as it was simply too packed. Waited for the 7:55, which was equally as packed - standing up all the way. Did see us go past eastleigh/Winchester etc with lots of saints fans just stood outside looking in. I hope they all managed to get there in the end.

failed a fitness test ahead of the game - so he must have been quite close to playing, so i'd guess he'll be concidered for the brighton game. he looked fine during the celebrations anyway! -
Personnel actions to ensure promotion next season

Lallana will be here, i'd expect him to sign a new contract in the summer. A lesson that the grass isn't always greener was in the ground y/day, in the form of Surman. I know drew was kind of forced out the door - but it kind of demonstrates why he should stay. He is not PL standard yet. I feel sorry for drew though. Gets the move to the PL - plays reserves and sits on the bench - and then sits in the crowd watching your previous team win a cup final. -
Such a good and consistant player. 7's every week, and then you still get the odd 8/9 from him as well. Signing of the season on a free.
-
what was the problem? after the 158th time it was a bit boring, but it was a good laugh - are we just supposed to sit around and wait for FT? the game was won by then.
-
Between Fonte and Harding for me, but because Harding wasn't actually playing in his natural position - he gets it. also a bit of appreciation for Millsy, who i thought played really well today. It was a big game for him - and he looked assured and did all the right things. superb.

What a great day, loved every minuite of it. From the atmosphere on the train and the tube on the way there, to lifting the trophy at the end of it - fantastic. Game was great - i think the scoreline flattered us slightly, but who cares??? it was just a fantastic day. Harding was my MOTM - you'd think he has been a RB for his entire career, totally fautless and he's def. 2nd in the player of the season poll for me. so what if it's ''only'' the JPT... how good is it to see Southampton celebrating and lifting a cup? It just doesn't happen to us! Let this be the start of something, because everyone saw today what a massive club this is. The potential is enormous. loved the stadium, i was in block 537 and the view was still excellent from all the way up there. Really easy to get in and out and had no problems queuing for anything really - top stuff. all in all - won't forget this in a while! superb day.
