  1. i don't think any of our players actually went off injured though, other than Cedric who should be ok after a few days rest for his head. We have an extra days rest than usual with the game being 4.15pm on Sunday, main thing is we get Stekelenberg back in goal. Liverpool have to play again on Thursday against Rubin Kazan, unfortunately it is at home but still won't be easy for them and they need to get some points on the board having drawn their first two group games so i can't see Klopp resting that many players. Would be very useful for Benteke and Sturridge to be out against us, along with Ings really reduces their firepower. How many ex-Saints are we likely to face? Lovren has resumed training i believe , and Lallana / Clyne will both play i reckon. i'd happily follow in Carlisle and FC Sion's footsteps at get a 1-1 draw.
  2. it would be great if he was out, but from the sound of this i think he will be fit. http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/ranieris-injury-update-dyer-mahrez-schlupp-2745395.aspx just says he got back late and didn't train, rather than mention any specific injury , Nathan Dyer is bound to score against us as well! I think this will be a really entertaining game , they seem to be full of confidence and should be out to attack us rather than sit back so i'm going for 3-2 win.
  3. I called the club to 'complain' that the membership card I purchased in August still hadn't arrived, they apologised and said the ticket office had been surprised at the surge of people buying memberships just before the start of the season and had run out of membership cards so had to order more. Anyway according to them (2 weeks ago) we'd sold just over 10,000 memberships (which is Adult and Junior so includes Junior Saints)
  4. If anything you are more likely to renew as there is a safety net to get some money back for games you cannot make. As a fan who has lived away I understand your predicament as even selling your ticket to a mate can be hassle, getting the ticket to them etc. At least this way it's a couple of clicks then all done as long as someone buys it. I appreciate what The9 is saying, for any fans with a wide network of potential friends / family / colleagues who would be interested taking the ticket then you wouldn't use this method.
  5. https://highslowsandbakayokos.wordpress.com/2015/10/14/play-up-pompey-the-bright-hope-of-punk-football/ Not sure where to begin with this but my personal favourite is they should build a new stadium as they have an uncontested catchment area of 500,000 potential fans. They seem to still be spreading the myth that they are majority owned by the fans
  6. Good to see that the commercial revenue has increased, but as others have pointed out clearly a big potential for easy additional income once the Shirt deal and sponsorship get renewed. The debt is not too concerning as the majority to the owner probably isn’t even costing the business to service the load through interest, compare that to the likes of Manchester United who pay millions on interest and loan re-payments to pay off the Glazer’s leveraged buy out. It would be good to see the Macquarie Bank loan re-paid and off the books, no doubt that will be costing us a bit and secured against future income, the new TV deal set to kick in next season should allow us to clear that if we wish to. Clearly paying off Cortese and Osvaldo have been big costs to the business that hopefully won’t need to be repeated, such a shame for a club of our modest standing to have spent so much of our relatively small wage budget on Osvaldo and Ramirez over the last two years, two players that have contributed nothing to our success , the money would have been much better spent compensating the players we wanted to keep to allow us to hold on to them, but that’s football I guess.
  7. That's embarrassing I meant to quote "Orange" post above not Grandads
  8. This Gentleman is spot on and clearly knows his stuff. Thanks for helping to educate some on here, I think the general population are starting to realise this isn't just an argument about immigration but so much more than that. The level on unaccountable spending in the EU is unreal http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/11209248/EU-auditors-refuse-to-sign-off-more-than-100billion-of-its-own-spending.html
  9. Nice one, just seen they have included the first week of Jan in their selections so another game people can plan for knowing it won't be changed. Regarding the Arsenal - 7.45pm game, i think we have quite a spread out fanbase with large numbers travelling from 70/80 mile radius, i wonder if it is even possible to get back to the Isle of Wight after the game on boxing day? hotels in town will be busy that night.
  10. tasty. 3000 Cherries and 3000 Saints all sharing the same trains home around 8.30-9pm , plus everyone else heading back from their Xmas breaks. Should imagine West Ham will be a popular one this year, last time we'll play at Upton Park.
  11. Norwich is a January game - they haven't announced TV for that yet - could still change. Palace away and Spurs home on 19th Dec - i am surprised neither of those have changed. Spurs at home sat before xmas always a good drink up so pleased about that. Night game on boxing day will be a nightmare transport wise, only benefit is traffic won't have to compete for parking spaces with the shoppers.
  12. that is good going, especially as Leicester returned block 43 for sale if it hadn't been for that the home end would virtually be sold out now. This will easily sell out, should be a cracking game going on the form of both sides. Leicester have sold out their allocation of 2,653 http://www.lcfc.com/tickets/away_tickets/
  13. According to a Liverpool fan i work with a few of them would like to see Sammy Lee return to the club as part of the coaching set up, he seems to be doing well at Saints so hopefully he stays here for now as part of Ron's team.
  14. Koeman loves any excuse to get a little trip back to Holland in his schedule, it's a good idea to help build the fitness levels of some of the players who haven't featured regularly and gives the management a chance to have a closer look at them.
  15. I think it's alright if they are non-league , plenty of people must support Saints but go along to Sholing / Eastleigh / Winchester City etc every now and then, or have a foreign club they look out for a go along to every now and then. (even the whole Rangers / Celtic thing where people follow one of those as well)
  16. Better off going in the Villa end if half of your group are away fans. The fact it is half term should guarantee a good crowd , last 16 of the Cup that we really should be trying to win , Villa will bring a couple of thousand down so expect a good cup atmosphere. top marks for Saints pricing scheme
  17. There's a bloody shuttle bus that runs from the station for cases like them, seriously it isn't difficult. Those who can do short walk , those who can't get on the bus. Those who need even more help wouldn't be able to get on a train anyway in the first place. If any station was to be done I'd re-open Southampton Terminus and run the Orient express football special to there. I would like to see a museum with interactive Southampton Experience, having visited many grounds across Europe they work well to attract visitors and also educate younger fans

I hope some of the criticism hasn't put the Mars bar lads off going to future games, instead I hope they take on board some of the honest feedback provided to them and reform their behaviour and we can all move on from this

The video has been shared on a football away days page on Facebook with 580 comments virtually all calling Saints fans a bunch of sappy cun$s , watching footage like this really hits home home much terrace culture in this country and particularly at saints is dead. No wonder so many lads do weekends abroad taking in games where support actually still means something and an atmosphere that shows the passion of the fans. Having said that it's an indication of the way popular culture has shifted, England cricket is full of wallys now as well. Looking forward to Swansea's visit tomorrow, a team which generally brings a proper following, none of this nonsense

it is definitely my new pet hate of modern life that would be going straight into room 101, the constant need to record stuff, it is all a popularity contest for the type of people who spend far too long on social media, it's only going to get worse when you look at the younger generation, i feel sorry for them really.

Sad times as a saints fan when this sort of "soccer am" shlt humour becomes acceptable form of support. Bunch of muppets. Same people who thought they were hilarious in orange wigs taking selfies are games last year.
  22. Had a brief chat with a customer based in Milton Keynes earlier, they've lost their last 4 games despite playing on, but a bit low on confidence and the promotion high has well and truly worn off now. As mentioned earlier on here their manager has come out saying he doesn't care about the game, perhaps feeling the pressure of a bad run and setting expectations low for this game.
  23. That seems like a very strange way of looking at it, but if you must we've had 10 competitive matches this season of which Cedric has only started 5 I think, being dropped for important games Midjylland , Everton and Man Utd with Koeman clearly concerned that he couldn't offer enough strength in defence. That is a worry if he's been bought as our first choice right back. We should be aiming to get a settled back 5 to develop some consistency. I think he has great potential so hopefully Cedric will develop the qualities required, full backs who had pace to attack were crucial to the way we played last year helping to create space for other attacking players.
  24. That would be very nice of them if they could allow us an easy route through to the 4th round. According to the pink none of their saints connections should be able to play with Darren Potter, Cody Cropper and Ben Reeves out injured and Sam Gallagher unable to feature against his parent club. I'll go for a 2-0 win but frustrating first hour 0-0 at half time. Tempting to play our first choice defence to give them more match practice communicating with each other.
  25. I find that very hard to believe. We'll have about 1500
