  1. Good signing for Liverpool for the money there. F*ck Clyne and all those who "wish him well" now he's gone he's the opposition, simple as that and any success for him may be at our expense. Hope that tough run of away games at the start of the season costs Rogers his job and a continued lack of form of all ex-saints within his squad. Shame we didn't buy Trippier from Burnley, I liked what I saw of him last season.
  2. Yes fair play to West Ham for selling out the first leg, £10 tickets will have contributed to that and demand increased by fans + neutrals wanting to visit the ground one last time before they move. Looking on West Ham's website if we're a cat B again this season it will be £45 when we go there over xmas, don't think I'll pay that. Interesting to note Lusitans are charging them €45 for the away leg (with West Ham adding £6.95 booking fee for special delivery post) 450 allocation. I can't imagine the part time Andorrans are charging their own fans that which reminds me of Steua Bucharest when Saints fans got something like £18 back after uefa ruling .
  3. Sounds ideal to me, any one on here fancy being the next Terry Waite? You can imagine it now on the news, group of saints fans arrested on a night train heading towards the Syria border suspected of trying to join ISIS. Proper away day that would be.
  4. i think we'll charge about that, perhaps the same as the Leverkusen game last season. we'll have tickets to shift for Everton at home 15th and August games have very rarely sold out.
  5. A small case study as an example, Fulham did £5 behind the goal and £10 on the side for their qualifiers and some group stage Europa games and were rewarded with decent crowds by their standards, I went to all the home games some of the away followings were dreadful so I can see Saints selling virtually the whole Northam for games (like MK Dons JPT game) Wreck it Ralph if you read this £5 tickets please.
  6. Not worth over analysing the 1st round draw without the context of the 2nd round draw that was made shortly afterwards, in this case I'd expect Belgian side Charleroi to beat the winner of Kazakh / Israel tie. Our friends from the far east FC Kairat (KAZ) near the chinese border will probably lose to Red Star Belgrade, shame as a tough trip would be better , proper adventure
  7. that would be good use of the away fans fund, never mind free coaches to Swansea away, lets have a free flight to Kazakhstan

    Fonte

Agree with the above, one of my favourite Saints players now and hope he can continue his form this season, we'll badly miss Alderweireld if he doesn't come back. Fonte has come along way from the dark days of league one when his confidence was low and Pardew had an affair with his wife
  9. Strengths - excellent crosser of the ball weaknesses - gets caught out of position Where have I heard that before? DANNY FOX Hope this lad is a bit better than him, Fonte will be important in bringing him into the team, just hope Toby Alderweireld signs as well.
  10. The Feyenoord pre season game in 2001 was the only time I've known the club to sell tickets in advance for a foreign pre season game, there's plenty to go round. Last time the travel club ran a trip but nothing mentioned so far, being a Thursday night instead of a weekend I agree we'll have 100-200 there with people waiting for Europa league the following week. Anyone heard any news on who the home friendly will be against on August 2nd?
  11. Big day for the skates today, league cup 1st round draw and as a league 2 minnow this could be their one chance this season of playing one of the big boys from the Championship like Brentford. Unfortunately as we don't enter until the 3rd round the chances of getting to play them are very slim!
  12. Sport Ops are good for those who either want the "easy" option or who are short of annual leave, mate of mine doing it for Slovenia v England game on Sunday, £349 for day trip from Luton airport which gives you an idea of the cost, but plus side for him is under an hour drive from Luton and flight back before midnight so makes the game do able. I remember for Bucharest there was a 2 night trip from Bournemouth but don't think any day trips were offered perhaps due to it being a later kick off. I'd expect the travel club to run coaches for any games in northern France / Holland / Belgium or North west Germany. I can't see many travelling to Feyenoord in the friendly considering we'll have a Europa game the following week. We took about 500 in 2001 , good stadium well worth a visit.
  13. Makes you laugh, they should be glad a global brand are willing to invest millions into local coucil through sponsorship therefore helping to provide more local services to the deprived residents , but instead they campaign against it! Guarantee first sign of cuts they'll be ip in arms!
  14. i don't envy the commentators if an attacking move involves passes between Jake Forster-Caskey, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and James Ward-Prowse
  15. Yes we've established seeding in 3rd qualifying round is a certainty, it is the play off round where it becomes less clear so interesting to see Hull were seeded last year at that stage. Would love to play Atletico Bilbao but not until the group stages at the earliest, they were excellent a couple of seasons ago knocking out Man Utd. Lots of shared history between the cities, the football kits but also alot of refugees came from Bilbao to Southampton during the Spanish civil war
  16. When Hull were knocked out in the play off last year by Lokeren of Belgium any idea which team was seeded?
  17. The legacy of cortese / pochetino . What a massive waste of money he's been and a drain on our resources
  18. I've already done a few of those grounds above, think my choice in the 3rd Qualifying round would be Skonto Riga for the Pahars connections (plus top trip) or Shamrock Rovers or St Patricks over in Ireland, or Inverness Caledonian Thistle - would be a dream for a half & half scarf collector like myself
  19. Great season but a couple of disappointing moments for me, losing to league one sheff utd in 1/4 final of the cup and despite going to 10 games in 2015 I haven't seen a win since Arsenal at home , makes it feel less successful
  20. some interesting points, the success of the U21s shows we've got some good lads coming through and as stated above many have had exposure to the first team this season. I've seen Turnbull and Stephens play for Swindon, both had a good season in a successful side. I won't make any assumptions until we've had Neil Ashtons input as the Kat Dreamwreker fire sale could be back on. Good thing about the Europa league is we can get some value out of the wages being paid to Florin Gardos and Emmanuel Mayuka.
  21. Some of the congratulations from saints fans has been a nit cringeworthy, Bournemouth sing about hating us and refer to us as scummers so lets not wish them too well. Great achievement by Howe and his players but I hope we thrash them twice next season to remind them of their place. Have seen run ins with Bournemouth fans at Waterloo back in the days when their core home support was about 4k, no doubt they'll sell out every game next season and the half / half scarf sellers will do a roaring trade.
  22. Don't spend too long wondering pal, the answer is no we wouldn't.
  23. Man City have always specialised in stitching us up with tickets, we need to get Rupert Lowe to lodge a complaint again
  24. 22 out of 22, some great players there. A discussion for another day but don't you think footballers just looked so much more like the average man on the street back in the 90s , great haircuts on a few of them. Merlin 94 good sticker album
  25. Definitely give them a call, but don't speak to the out sourced call centre ask to speak to someone at the club. Tickets look to be selling well for this game and I notice Aston Villa have taken the full 3200 allocation using their away fan fund to knock £10 off per ticket. With it being their last away game of the season building up to the cup final I reckon they will sell all those. Does anyone remember last home game of the season in 93/94 I think, it was the last game before we demolished the Milton Road terrace, saints won 4-1 , Villa had a lot down in fancy dress and invaded the pitch the end breaking the cross bar at the Archers Rd end, I recall Batman and Robin chasing Dowie off the pitch
