Personally I'd like Barnet away but I can't see them winning at Wolves , other than that only other grounds left in that I haven't done at Rotherham and Shrewsbury and I doubt they'll get through either so hoping we're drawn at home to lowest team left in it. Last season we had Arsenal away which turned out to be a fantastic cup tie winning at the Emirates for the first time with 6k saints fans there. Bit of a joke West Ham got a bye to 3rd round as well but guess they had to pre plan it like that. Not sure I want to play the Skates
-
for me the decision to play Yoshida was based on the set piece strength of the opponents and our ability to defend them, makes sense to me but did mean we completely lost the attacking edge down the right hand side. Lots of moaning from fans around me last night, but i thought we played well in parts. Last season a massive part of our game was attacking full backs creating space going forward and having defensive midfielders to cover for them. Losing Clyne and the unfortunate injury to Bertrand is costing us that at the moment, we really need him back.

According to the club they've got 54 on a coach and 80 travelling independently, plus 40 sponsors and some Brentford fans, so only actually about 134 actual Danish fans travelling, doubt we'll even notice them in town. Its grey and drizzling out there a bit different to the exciting build up to the Arnhem game. hope we get a decent walk up tonight and fill most of blocks 44 and 45 in the Northam to boost the attendance
-
Sounds like you have a bit of a nervous disposition pal, wouldn't want you along side me in the trenches. Last year you cried and wailed , if he goes it will be bad but calm down and get some perspective.

Hopefully we have a big walk up for this game tomorrow night, the offer of a free match programme might encourage some, and it is a good price to see Saints take on the Danish champions. The number of tickets already sold by Saints is decent and comparable with a Premier League match , there is excess supply due to blocks 43, 44 and 45 additionally being allocated to the home support , and with Midtjylland only expecting around 200-300 in the away end that is already 1000 less fans than the Arnhem game which had 1400 away fans. Lots of home games over a monthly period 30th July - Vitesse Arnhem – 30,850 02nd Aug - Espanyol – 14,730 15th Aug - Everton – 30,966 20th Aug - FC Midtjylland – estimate 27k 30th Aug - Norwich – estimate 30k

That would be my guess as well, looking at the ultras tiff site which has pics of away ends from Europa and Champions league games I can't find many examples where they travel. Guess they are in quite a remote part of a Denmark. There is an organised coach running expected to arrive in Southampton 3pm http://www.black-wolves.com/nyheder/565-black-wolves-tur-til-southampton.html

Not sure where you are looking there are plenty of non single seats left. Hundreds left in block 43. Also blocks 15, 16. The game won't sell out. The first test of the buy back option will probably be Man Utd, although in my experience your best bet is to sell the ticket at a reduced rate to a friend / relative / colleague.
-
Not sure what your point is - they sold out the tickets given to them when still on sale to season ticket holders, 2400, Everton clearly couldn't be bothered to take the risk on selling the further 800 but i reckon they would have sold them - top support.
-
Any more news on Bertrand? i am sure they said a few weeks ago he was ahead of schedule, and was due back by now anyway as they said 5-6 weeks at the time. hopefully he's had plenty of training sessions and could feature in one the European ties coming up. tickets seem to be selling fairly well, doubt it will sell out but not far off with most seats left in block 43 and across the chapel stand. Everton sold out their 2400 a while ago - surprised they didn't take block 43 as well.
-
I know loads of people who have used them for England, never been let down. Very reliable and experienced at planning trips like this. Shame its flying from Bournemouth now instead of Southampton
-
There's a few Danish chaps on here offering to help, I'd suggest that is your best option if one of them will buy for you. There were losds of saints in the home end at Vitesse with no problems at all. Same goes to Saint Garrett and FF above if you've already booked fligjts I think it's still worth travelling. I notice we've been given even more blocks of the Northam for the home leg so they can't be bringing many. Gives us a chance to create a real home 'end'
-
i think the fact we have control over it means the club really should be more proactive in confirming the details as early as possible whilst happy to sell tickets they should also confirm the time. Same goes for away tickets - it should be very straight forward once allocation is confirmed let people know the details and whether or not they are running an official trip where a % of our allocation will be reserved for - has a big impact on what fans do in terms of booking.
-
it will be very interesting if we only get 500 tickets, take a fair few off that for officials / player comps as staff at the club always seem to get them, then allow for some tickets possibly being held back for an official travel package if the club decide to run one again - could just leave a couple of hundred for everyone else.
-
Clearly the West Ham is BT's main game on Thursday as it is on their EUROPE channel with time allowed for the build up, whereas our game in on BT Sport 2 , programme starting at 7pm which is the same time as kick off - not quite sure how they'll manage that will just go straight into it i guess. does anyone know how much BT pay per game in these? the club must be pleased having only taken part in one round so far we've had both legs televised plus a full house helping to maximise income from taking part.
-
it's more than a few tickets, it is over 10% of the away allocation being reserved for a organised trip that was announced so late anyone who was thinking of going had already booked up travel independently. The ironic thing of this is we could be left with empty seats in the away end when hundreds of fans who met the criteria would have loved to purchase them. if they try pulling a stunt like this again for an away game where we have an even smaller allocation there will be a lot of angry regular away fans missing out.
-
Its a bloody joke that the official travel packages include a match ticket, basically means the only way of getting a ticket in the away end now is booking through them for an overpriced trip, and in theory if those don't sell out there will be empty seats in the away end while other fans are scattered around the home areas. Looking on TMG website travel packages are still available with match ticket.

The town centre has got lots of bars, if you do go to one of the police recommended bars you'll be by Guildhall Sq which is a good gathering point. If you walk up the main road towards London Road you will find lots of pubs , just look up London Road, Bedford Place on google maps . For some afternoon beers in the sun the Wool House and Ocean Village are best I think, the new German Bierhouse may also be worth a try but not very English and considering you already live close to Germany might be a waste. The Red Lion pub is the oldest in the city I think, you could visit there for some beer and history at the same time.

yes there are a few familiar faces in that video, fair play to them it is quite catchy and some good shots from around the city, i like it.

Looking on the ticket website this morning this game is now virtually sold out with just single tickets left in most blocks with the exception of the family centre which still has quite a lot of availability, I guess it is a late kick off and many are away on summer holidays. If you want to get a few tickets together will need to buy today in the chapel or get Saints Bar hospitality for £30 which is a good deal for a padded seat on half way line. I read in The Pink at the weekend that Vitesse have 4 players on loan from Chelsea but not all are expected to feature with the oldest one being England U20 captain Lewis Baker, I'm sure if he does play Targett and Reed will know all about him. It sounds like Vitesse have lost a couple of their better players and haven't replaced them so far, will be interesting to hear Vitesse fans thoughts on that. They could be thinking the same about us and the loss of our record breaking back 5 though with Alderweireld, Clyne gone and Forster and Bertrand unavailable.
-
it is a two way thing remember, don't assume if there is any bother it will just be because of Saints fans. I'm sure it will be a great atmosphere around the city during the day on the build up to the game, has anyone shared any info with the Vitesse fans on where best to head for once they arrive? hopefully they get to see some of the smarter parts of the city rather than just head to Yates and the Frog and Parrot like most away fans that come here. Any Vitesse fans reading this i recommend a visit to the SeaCity museum which is in the town centre, and the Tudor House on Bugle Street, at the bottom of that road there is the Wool House and nearby Platform Tavern to have a drink , and Ocean Village (Marina area) has some nice bars for daytime drinking if the weather is good. I know during term time some places do Student specials drink promotions on a Thursday , not sure what time those offers start from though.
-
that is fantastic support if they are bringing 1800 fans over, looking at the Saints website we have only given them blocks 45-48 which can only hold about that so looks like they'll fill it. will be good to have most of the Northam for home fans with 43 + 44 , should be a quality atmosphere. I read on Vitesse website that their coaches leave Arnhem 11.30pm Wednesday night and expect to arrive in Southampton 11am Thursday so they've left themselves plenty of time for boozing. from what i can see there aren't many tickets left now, mostly in the chapel and the family center. the Saints Bar hospitality is only £30 which is a bargain really for best seat in the house so i reckon that will sell out but the more expensive packages and boxes won't.
