  1. the 1/4 final v Chelsea will be live on sky on Tuesday 17th Dec if we get through
  2. good point, i recall non-league Woking and FC United of Manchester both taking Brighton to cup replays. Could be a good thing for us then.
  3. we clearly are going to play a weakened team - that is what is frustrating, watching the chance of a decent cup run being lost due to club apathy is disappointing, all media stories point to virtually a complete change http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/10784394.Fonte_s_faith_in_Saints_squad/
  4. Would imagine coaches will leave St Marys 5.30am? I reckon if we use our 200k at all it might be for the Hull away game on a Tuesday. other clubs are really getting into it, Chelsea have subsidised tickets and travel for a few games, Norwich did free coaches to Man Utd in the cup, and half price tickets for Man City away in the league (bet fans were pleased they didn't pay full price for a 7-0 defeat)
  5. what really annoys me about the ticket office is their unwillingness to disclose the allocation we have and keep it a secret.
  6. intelligent? i would say misguided. you can live your fantasy playing football manager at home taking us to the champions league while we're at Wembley in the league cup final
  7. you're obviously a youngster, ask anyone who went to Bucharest away in 2003 if they'd want more of that.
  8. From my experience of Arsenal last year, I went down the ground an hour or so before the kick off, getting off the tube at Finsbury Park and cutting through to the ground passing Arsenal tube station, there were loads of touts on that route which implies there are lots of tickets floating around. I’m not sure what price they were asking, but bear in mind face value in large parts of the lower tier is only £25.50 for this game so even if they made a big % cut you could probably get one for £40. A mate of my Dad’s has missed out on a ticket, but is still going to travel and happy to sit in the home end so will buy off a tout on the day. there looked to be 5 or 6 Saints fans jumping up in the home end behind the goal at Anfield when we scored, so some still do it now days
  9. those who you who keep saying forget about the cup because we've got champions league ambition, lets bear in mind we are only 10 games into the season, our next 5 games include Arsenal & Chelsea away and Man City at home. it is quite possible we'll lose all 3 of those (I hope not) and find ourselves back with the mid-table pack. we should at least be making an attempt to win the cups , anyone who has ever done the stadium tour will know our trophy cabinet is quite empty I don't know enough about Sunderlands squad , will the two players sent off on Saturday be out ? I think their keeper went off as well, any news on that? if we somehow get into the quarter finals then we must play a full strength team. .

  11. i would like us to play a strong team in this and progress in the competition, but am resigned to the fact that we won't. One of the most depressing aspects of modern football is the approach to the cups of clubs like ours. We should be perfectly placed to have a good go at them at the moment, we don't have the threat of relegation hanging over us, we are in the last 16 having not risked any of our first team so far, we don't have the distration of Europe that all the other teams around us in the league tend to, so we should have the energy to have a go at this. the worst games for the paying fan last year were Leeds away (in this round of the cup) going out 2-0 with no fight whatsover, and losing 5-1 at home in the cup to Chelsea where we never looked interested at all. i am sure Chelsea fans are hoping we win this, they already have Sunderland away in Wednesday 4th December in the league! can't imagine many of them will fancy that 2 weeks later again.
  12. I am very surprised this one is not sold out yet - thought it would to season ticket holders who had been to more away games considering the numbers we took to WBA, Norwich, Liverpool and Man Utd, and i think those games sold out to season ticket holders. after this game i can't see demand being that high for Chelsea / Newcastle / Cardiff and Everton so plenty of chances for other people to get away game tickets if unsuccessful.
  13. yeah i would say the Royal Oak is your best bet, The Dorchester is good as well, lots of screens , not sure on the 14 year old but they'd probably let you in
  14. it does seem that way. they should be able to get the football bans overturned...it was a long time after the match and no connection to football. What if they'd been doing that on a friday night out on the town? it is a world cup year though, so the courts are more than happy to hand out bans as instructed by the home office no doubt, get those stats up, protect all those poor Brazilians from having to listen to nasty songs
  15. yeah cracking video that, good memories, enjoyed our league one days, particularly liked the pitch level view of the celebration when Fonte's goal goes in at Brighton and the away end erupts, can see fans spilling onto the running track while the stewards try to stop more getting on, what a day that was, baking hot 30 degrees.
  16. only concern is if we have taken a larger allocation that the club has to guarantee sale for , then don't sell out, this will give the club justification for not taking big allocations in the future. I see Stoke are doing a deal where season ticket holders can buy 2 extra seats for £10 each, surprised the home end is yet to sell out as well
  17. Wow, if we also have the 4th block along that is a big allocation, that's 2/3rds of the end. (4 out of 6 blocks) Not sure how many that is, but over 3000 i think. Hope we get close to filling it.
  18. good side that, but if he's fit think i might have Davis in for JWP to combat Stoke physical presence.
  19. good point , assuming United climb into the top 5 this would ensure Europa league down to 6th , and if FA Cup place does the same could be 7th - our best chance of qualifying maybe is the league.
  20. semi finals clearly going to be Man City v Man Utd and Spurs v Chelsea !!

I don't think it is such a concern, we have only played 9 games in 10 weeks, with a changed side featuring in the cups. although we do have international call ups it's nothing compared to the other teams at the top of the table. compare that to clubs who have had to play champions league (6 group games plus qualifiers) or Europa League.
  22. don't get upset 70s Mike.
  23. Back to the original post, that is a decent little video done by a visiting Fulham fan, i wonder how many fans of other clubs who play us make a weekend of it down here. The video didn't show enough inside the ground to get a sense of the atmosphere.
  24. i'm not brilliant , or self important. i've sat all around the ground so have a good understanding of the atmosphere at St Marys, the chapel end is virtually silent for most of the match, that's just how it is. Don't get upset about it,
  25. seriously if sat all over the ground, the chapel could be replaced by a mural and no one would notice in terms of atmosphere .
