yeah that will take a lot longer for the London Saints fans getting down, done it a few times when live that via Havant takes about 2 hours. "All lines in the Woking area will be closed Sunday until late afternoon for maintenance work. During this time no trains will run between Weybridge and Basingstoke or between Woking and Guildford. •Trains between London Waterloo and Weymouth will call at Surbiton and then be diverted via Guildford, Havant and Fareham before rejoining their normal route at Southampton Central. Trains from London Waterloo will start earlier than normal"

it's guaranteed to , they will be playing the Thursday before that fixture. the draw for groups is today , let's hope they have a Russian / Kazakhstan team and play them away that week.

Capital One Cup 3rd Round Draw - Home to Bristol City
JRM replied to lickierambert's topic in The Saints
Never mind how many Bristol City will bring (imo won't be more than 1500 max) i doubt the home crowd will be much unless priced correctly. By that i think £15 for good seats in Kingsland / Itchen centre, and £10 wings / behind goals, kids for £1, like it used to be when we played teams like Yeovil and got over 20k -
Capital One Cup 3rd Round Draw - Home to Bristol City
JRM replied to lickierambert's topic in The Saints
sadly, i don't think they are using that terrace this season. on all the games so far this year away teams have only been given seats on the side and i understand the plan is to knock down that stand. i've got a feeling we'll get a home draw to a Premier league team. -
if you can't see his post was a wind up and actually beleived we may have sold 5000 tickets for Barnsley on a Tuesday night in the Capital One Cup then yes you are so far out of touch it's difficult to beleive you have any awareness of what it's like going to saints away games
-
if anything there's more reason why they should announce the allocation , if they said at the beginning we have an initial 1300 for Norwich with the option of a further 1000 if demand was there we may have sold them faster. as things stand there won't be many of us at Norwich then. ps. I had to wait outside the ground at Norwich last year for a mate and we sold quite a few on the day , hope they didn't make saints pay for them as well!
-
yes will be very interesting , they'll probably say they've invested it painting hash tags on the travelclub coaches.... so far the trend seems to be to reduce travel prices, as saints outsource that I doubt we'll do it. could be used for a one off game though like Hull on a Tuesday night.

anyone know when Carroll is expected back from injury and when the England squad is going to be announced? with any luck Carroll won't play again before the squad which should means he misses out and Lambert gets another chance to impress. Moldova at home would be a good chance to get on the scoresheet again.

I reckon there'll be 1500 Sunderland there , and not surprised if we don't sell out , as much as I like the atmosphere if anything it's a good thing if there are empty seats otherwise the club will think it's fine to continually put prices up. more and more people are choosing to watch games for free in many pubs across the city and that trend will continue. hat's off to clubs like West Brom who charged us £15 last year and £25 this year, decent prices making football affordable to the average family. I read this morning that the premier league had made a fund available to teams to improve experience for away fans , Stoke are offering free coaches to EVERY away game this season , Norwich doing something similar starting with free coach to Hull, best one so far is Chelsea of all teams offering subsidised rail travel doing a chartered train for Man Utd away at £10 return each. would love it if saints did that picking up at Southampton Central / Parkway and Winchester .

you're all missing the point, he is not blaming the club for you not being able to afford it, he is saying IF the club wanted more season ticket holders they would provide more financially friendly measures to facility the purchase, such as having a longer purchasing window to capture the less organised fan into a season ticket holder
-
since cortese has been at the club the policy has been to not push / market the sale of season tickets in the belief a good season will still see the ground full of pay per game "customers" making each seat in the ground more profitable. the lack of flexibility is allowing fans to buy one is odd and I can't imagine there are many more clubs like saints for that. I think if I didn't have a season ticket I'd watch quite a few games in the many pubs showing them all for free , just as I know do for most away games as refuse to pay the prices (other than the likes of West Brom , Arsenal with decent £25 a ticket)

looking at a pic of the stand block F is about half the size of block G , last year we also had H which didn't quite sell out , the netting was used in that block for segregation though. my estimate would be our reduced allocation this time is about 1700. still not a bad support but disappointing considering how many people still want to go and there was almost 2 weeks left until the game when it sold out. the secrecy around allocations is just odd behaviour from the club , they've even told SFCcop on twitter not to release the info now.
-
they must think the fans are thick mate , purposely don't tell us the allocation to hide their own incompetence when it comes to away games. two blocks won't be many of us there.
-
they kept that quiet hadn't seen it mentioned at all , annoying as might have gone down there for that
-
does anyone know when the next England squad will be announced ? I assume it will be before the Norwich game which could just leave 2 league games to impress in , surely they'll give him another chance in the squad ?!
-
is it Paulo Di Canio ?
-
any news on what our allocation is for this one yet ?

PRE-SEASON: Schalke 04 vs Southampton - (18:00 KO)
JRM replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
but Man Utd lost in Japan and everyone knows Japanese are rubbish just look at Tadanari Lee so they'll finish below us as things stand. -
never mind Markus's money, what about all the cash we've been shelling out to go through the turnstiles! could have saved on the transfer and lowered some prices to make football more affordable
-
excellent news hardly moved at all. we're clearly not attractive to tv which is good for the match going fan. I think we'll be on less than the minimum again.
-
do you still qualify for the under 11? family centre for the 7 Cat C games looks very good at £30 adult and free under 11.
-
some odd categorising there with cardiff a B and cup holders Swansea a C , hope saints are lowest ranked elsewhere for cheaper prices.
-
I've been to a couple of Indian weddings and the red / gold look is certainly popular.

i really think this needs highlighting more. when the season ticket renewals went on sale they advertised that we'd be the beneficaries of a 10% discount in the club shop, a saving some claimed would soften the blow of a 6% price increase (in my case £30 increase). a family member went into the store to buy a few items on saturday for a birthday present, asked for the season ticket discount and was told, BAD LUCK EITHER BUY TODAY FULL PRICE OR COME BACK IN AUGUST. a) what sort of service is this for loyal fans? b) what is the point giving ST holders a discount and then not letting them have it in the immediate period after the new kit is launched? fleecing the fans for a few more quid?
