  1. the poll results are interesting nearly 59% don't like it or intend to buy it, good number of voters as a sample as well. no doubt the club PR machine will claim its a record again like the attendance they made up.
  2. dreadful. we are now Middlesbrough . dull kits with no connection to club history. and £50? F*.ck off.
  3. nope I've done loads , you can jib in to most of these sort of grounds easily. this isn't a proper tournament like the emirates cup there will be loads of room turn up and stroll in. only time I've had a ticket in advance was Feyenoord away in 2001

  5. we are a Bristol City / Nottingham Forest red club now , not red and white as saints should be. it's more than just a kit as others said , it represents the club, what if Celtic changed to an all green home kit? 3/10 for effort addidas
  6. fanzines were quality back in those days , I'd buy the ugly inside and on the march , some really funny contributors and would also act as a focal point for fans grievances at the club / football in general, I remember my history teacher at school did the Arsenal fanzine cartoons , quite laddIsh publications with football fan pub humour / banter , modern attempts far to dull in comparison.
  7. yes any tips would be interesting to hear on that, visiting Bergen for 4 nights in August, going to spend most of the time walking and kayaking so won't need much for that, but would like to have a few beers in the evening without spending a fortune. going to see Brann Bergen play as well, will keep an eye out for Claus at the match.
  8. punters being people on here wacking money on it!
  9. Far too much Spanish influence, great preparation if we are going to play in La Liga but need some more domestic games in there i think, even the home game is against Spainards.
  10. it might be easier flying to Porto then a 3 hour train from there, not the easiest place to get to.
  11. i won't believe anything from the clubs propaganda machine as they have already proved themselves to be liars, the record attendance was absolutely hilarious, first we have the west ham game when they announced the attendance and declared it a NEW CLUB RECORD (when attendance was actually one less) they then found a couple more unaccounted for people and bumped it up! we then had Liverpool at home declared a NEW PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB RECORD which of course is also wrong.
  12. i thought the term they used was "fastest" not best, without giving actual data that could mean sold most on day one, or first hour, who knows
  13. were they? don't think we ever saw published sales figures, what i do know is the club shop had plenty of stock left.
  14. everytime i see that statement on the season ticket box is sounds more and more ridiculous, as someone who have been to 77 grounds in England and travelled to watch football all over Europe i can't think of anything we do that is really ground breaking, perhaps sacking programme sellers and replacing them with "models"
  15. 5 weeks since the end of the season and not one pre-season game announced yet , looking through other teams websites we appear to be the only club this slow off the mark. the players are due back for training in just over a week, and football league starts in Aug 3rd so any friendlies v lower league will need to be in July. I wonder if the chaos in the marketing department with the sponsor debacle is causing delays in other decisions to be made as well. if the rumours are true about training camps in Spain and Austria perhaps we won't be playing domestic friendlies anyway.
  16. from what I hear on the grape vine from people who have seen the shirt that looks exactly as described , very poor effort really amazing to think people are employed professionally to produce stuff like this. no doubt they'll spin stories such as "fastest selling kit" without producing any actual sales figures. commercially the club is more blue square than champions league , club shop had tons of the old kit left in stock but never reduced it , very odd.
  17. are saints now the only club to have not announced any new kit or first team friendlies ? not sure if it's down to us being unorganised or just not bothered about announcing things at the end of the season.
  18. fair play to Bridge teaming up with Adkins , rumour Billy Sharp is going to join them as well, as much as Reading annoyed me thinking they were a bigger club than us and boasted at taking some of our catchment area I'd probably want them to do well next year.
  19. the very fact Reading's name is listed shows what an absolute waste of time that is.
  20. whats so bad about that ? the echo have done this for several of the last transfer windows , hardly a new thing or copying this.
  21. looking at your list I don't think you need to worry much about them being moved for Euro games , or even sky with most of them being "unattractive" teams. pretty much guaranteed general sale for each one as well.
  22. yep that would be my choice as well , seems rare for us to get decent away draws in the cup though , can you think of any other league two minnows we could get ? easy to get to ?
  23. Cardiff the only new ground as didn't make it to the Tuesday night game in the championship , had previously done Ninian a few times. I wouldn't call any of the others must dos but anyone who does stupid prices like Man City's £51 last year will be a must DON'T for me! will do Emirates again for £25 if they do that price again, then will see what the fixture list treats us to.
  24. when I was in Kuala Lumpur I was amazed how many people were properly obsessed with the premier league and when they found out I was English wanted to talk about it all the time , loads of premier league merchandise on sale over there both official replica shirts in sports shops and the fakes in markets , saints were one of the only clubs NOT sold , but then we only sell from our own shop or online so not surprising there is a lack of international distribution. knowledge goes back quite far , Matt Le Tissier still one of the first names mentioned when you say southampton
  25. Tommy Robinson talks a lot of sense in the interview he did the other day. people don't understand what it's like for the white English people who grew up and live in places like Luton , it's the large number and concentration of Muslims there that has resulted in low integration and the establishment of Islamic life in the town. English folk no longer feel at home there
