the only reason i can think of is - who knows whats around the corner? we could find ourselves back in league one with half filled ground begging fans to come back, but the ones who had been going for years before being priced out would have moved on. i don't think we should take loyalty for granted
-
had a look and it is set to be a big crowd, Palace sold out their full allocation quickly so for the first time this year we'll have a full away end, i think this will be about 31,000 , hopefully a bit more, it helps being a saturday 3pm kick off, we are on a run, home to a London club bring 3200 and it is a C category game so ticket prices more affordable
-
i watched the game in Kelly's on saturday, excellent screens, picture and sounds, decent atmosphere and drinks prices, and can see why people would do that and save £38 on a home match ticket, only going every so often, also look at the "watch every game live" thread where people watch at home. its a shame as i like a full ground for atmosphere, but crowds need to fall to bring prices into a more realistic level.

this sums it up for me, completely agree, i had a good seat up in the Itchen centre and followed the movement, he has got a good football brain but is so frustrating and wasteful on the ball. No where near a £12M player yet.
-
did he buy them at the ticket office window or over the phone? when i got mine the other day i didn't pay a booking fee at the window, and was told this only applies now for phone purchases or £1 if online
-
it looks like loads of tickets have been sold last coulple of days as Itchen blocks 4-10 (only ones open) are nearly sold out. Not sure if they'll allow people to spead out into block 11 or put that on sale. 3 blocks in the chapel that are open, 17, 18,. 19 and thousands left. the Northam is a funny one, loads of tickets left in 40, 41 and 42, plus block 43 despite being shaded out is actually available to buy in if you click on in. out of 1024 seats there are still 951 available!
-
interesting, i don't recall the initial "ticket information" about this game saying the £18 price was exclusively for advanced purchases? that is sneaky!! the should make very clear what the price will be and when, this is what the announcement said "There will be 20 loyalty points available for this game, with tickets priced at £18 for adults, £14 for concessions (over-65s and 17-21s), £10 for under-17s and £5 for under-11s" i saw an advert for West Ham's game v Cardiff (which they have advertised every day in the Evening Standard). it makes clear it is £15 adults in advance rising to £20 on the day, why can't saints add that additional line to their statement?
-
it's not even close on several levels , to even make a statement of that nature shows a real lack of knowledge, we don't even take the max allocation of tickets ffs , we're about midtable
-
just a thought , while walking down to St Mary's there was a lot of activity around Solent uni site with students moving back next week , there was a large group of foreign students of oriental appearance , they could be in for a treat this week if we play YOSHIDA and my hero TADANARI LEE !
-
anyone remember Yeovil at home big crowd at st marys ? and Lincoln at home at the Dell when people were in the aisles , also recall a full house for Huddersfield at home 2nd leg of 2nd round. anyway hope we get a win this and through to the last 16, will start to get interesting with luck of the draw would love a good cup run and assumingwe rest players it can't really be considered a distraction.
-
it's probably something that concerns the match going fan more - you won't notice whilst listening to the radio and posting on here
-
knowing what Sky are like they'll probably pick our game for the Monday night!
-
because it will look ridiculous with 26000 empty seats in the ground as the game is being played out. it is not that fans aren't interested, or can't be bothered, if the price was right we could get 20k , unfortunately our support will look utterly shlt instead
-
unfortunatelty in the long run we need to have some embarrassingly small crowds to give the club and football in general a wake up call, bring back some sense to pricing. it makes me laugh when the new tv deal was announced it was calculated each club could reduce prices by half (or something like that) and would still be better off over all. the club waste vast sums of cash (Forren as an example), it wouldn't hurt them to put some consideration to the less well off fans for games like this and charge a tenner. i reckon we'll have 8500-9000 there on Tuesday and the place will be like a morgue atmosphere wise.
-
best off ignoring them mate, she probably needed a rest after 6 hours sat gormlessly on the bingo bus
-
i went down the ground this morning and got a ticket for this, against my better judgement as it is a rip off, they have cuirrently sold about 5000 ticket according to the chap there, going to be a small crowd as can't see many bothering to come from Bristol. Serves the club right to ridiculous over pricing of the game, but shame as it is such a missed opportunity to get new fans in , and allow loyal saints who can't afford Premier league prices to bring the family along to a game. would imagine the team will be like Barnsley, anyone who isn't getting a game at the moment like Ramirez, Yoshida, Davis, Cork will play.
-
it's been confirmed on Arsenal's website that we are a category C game again this season, excellent news £26 for adults away at the Emirates is a bargain compared to prices charges elsewhere. no doubt demand will be high and we'll sell out quickly , don't worry if you miss out though as Saints play in London the following weekend as well....... Sunday on sky v Chelsea for £50 will mean there's plenty of tickets available for that.
-
well that hasn't been the case so far this season, and it's not been mentioned officially, so unless you can find this BBC story i'd say that was inaccurate
-
perhaps we didn't want to deal with Adkins while he is still taking legal action against Saints (good luck to him)
-
well that was a sensible discussion. we've had this mentioned on other threads before, these chaps at Liverpool have been particularly vocal in support of change http://www.spiritofshankly.com/news/premier-league-money-for-away-fan-initiatives Stoke have topped up their fund, running coaches for free to every away game, Norwich are doing that to a few, Liverpool reducing tickets, Chelsea subsidised travel in coaches but also chartered a train to Man Utd away (Monday night so couldn't get back on a normal service) and only charged fans a £10 return for it, not bad at all. nothing from Saints yet- but we have seen they have stopped charging booking fees for card payments at the window and reduced them online, would not surprise me if that is what they'll claim the money has gone towards! if they choose to put it all towards one game Sunderland in January or Hull on a Tuesday night would make sense.

if you were a gay Israeli alcoholic you certainly wouldn't feel very welcome at this world cup.
-
Liverpool have clearly had a good start and will benefit from not having extra European games , but I think we could be playing them at a good time. Suarez is still suspended and Courtinho is injured , 2 important attacking players , plus they have a cup game away to Man Utd a few days later. having said that we'll probably lose 1-0 just like last year
-
yeah the cup game was 5th round 1990, we had 5000 up there in the days of big cup away followings , we took loads to spurs in 3rd round as well. we came close to getting a result in the league that year beating them 4-1 at home and losing 3-2 away with jimmy case scoring both.

and loved seeing the Dell like that as well, good away following from West Ham there, can imagine just what they were like, and the football special back out of Central after the match. Good times. would love a result like that tomorrow, got a feeling it will be 0-0 though.
