Saints v Skates, F.A. Youth Cup Third Round, Match Thread FULL TIME 7-0!
JRM replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
Gallagher technically already has , coming on for us at Sunderland in the Cup -
get in quick before they are gone! what i really don't understand about the "loyalty" points, is every single home game has just gone straight on general sale, why not have some kind of priority period for those who have attended multiple home games already this season.
-
Interesting that they are opening the whole ground for this, not sure if many will go with it being a few days after chelsea and just a week before WBA. Prices not bad, but not cheap enough to tempt people just after xmas.
-
the game went straight to general sale to anyone who has a past purchase history?
-
lots of single un-saleable tickets in the family section again , they should allow those to be sold without also needing an u16
-
I would leave a lot longer than the "recommended" time, the queues at Upton Park after the game take for ages and can take you 30 mins just to get on the tube.

old bill didn't have a clue what they were doing, skates came up through the bridge coming straight into saints, scuffles and again going up past KA towards the underpasses -
i know if we lost people will just say, oh well its only the youth cup etc, but it will still feel f*cking horrible sitting there watching it, i'm not even sure if i am going to make the match yet, but if i do just hope it's a win. i'll never forget in 2009 we had that horrible 4-1 defeat, a couple of months later on Semi Final weekend i was in London visiting a mate, timed my journey back to Waterloo badly and ended up mixed in with all the Skates coming back from their 1-0 semi final win v Spurs at Wembley. Going up the escalator an entire family were decked out in t-shirts celebrating "The Massacre of St Marys, scummers 1 v 4 Pompey" depsite being in league 2 their punishment has still not been enough in my opinion

What about the BT games? have they been announced for that month?
-
FFS just been reading about the skates u18s winning 8 in a row going into this match, I will not be happy if I have to sit through another home cup defeat to them while 600 odd of them goad us from the Kingsland. that's not a bad following for them in this cup, they'll make some noise, let's hope our fans are up for it as well , get behind the lads.

when you say 2000 maximum is that assuming they are only opening current blocks on sale? i just had a look and they have changed the status of blocks 9, 10, 11 to open, but not actually showing seats available to buy, would imagine they will be on the night. also i am sure tickets initially went on sale as general sale, and are now showing as "previous customers only" , wonder why they changed that.
-
got to laugh at that, but it's not as if the worlds media are on their way to Fratton park, i'm sure it will just be Neill sat there as usual
-
Salisbury away (if they somehow get through against Port Vale)

best thing about Nelson Mandela is he proved prison works, he never re-offended

they should have thought about that earlier then before treating fans and historians like this. I'd so argue the club are so wasteful with cash it is better spent elsewhere. I give you the £60k a week going into Gaston's pocket. for me purchasing this book is much worthier purchase
-
i echo his comments, it is a lovely book and will make a great Christmas present for any saints fans in the family, if you are thinking about getting someone something from the club shop STOP now and instead buy this book. a great reference to look back at our history.

i feel really sorry for Gazza, and want him to come good, but has he made a save yet this season?

by your logic were we also in it at the start of the season? it is ridiculous to refer to us as "title contenders" after 11 games without factoring in we were about to have a run of very tough fixtures. after Christmas when we have played all the teams in the division it would be fair to pass judgement. -
well Newcastle have been excellent this season in offering reciprical lower prices with away clubs, they have done this with WBA and Swansea and a couple of others i think, wouldn't surprise me if they offered this to saints on the basis we also lowered prices for their fans and our prat of a chairman refused it

there is a lot of nonsense posted on here about how great we are, and how saints were ready to take the top 4 by storm, some of us pointed out it was far too early to even think about , we had been poor against Sunderland and West Ham at home, and Norwich away where the loss of our full backs made us look very ordinary. we've lapped up the media praise on our way up so be prepared for the criticism on the way down. what annoys me is we really should have had a go at the league cup, challenging at the top of the table was never sustainable with our squad but having a good cup run was. I think we'll be down to 11th-12th by the end of this month by which time we'll have played half the season and the table will be a better reflection of how good we are. the run of games from Arsenal away Nov 23rd to Chelsea home Jan 1st is very tough and should be a healthy reality check for some of you. -
the curse kicks in after the award is presented which in this case was before Arsenal. I remember the Nicholl season well - we only just stayed up and a run of a few defeats started a rut we couldn't get out of. last night's defeat was so disappointing as I don't think we'll win a game this month now.
-
I can't see anything but a defeat here, City will target our weaknesses and shoot on sight knowing Gazza has let in virtually every shot he has faced this season. he reminded me of a low Bartoz Bialowski getting up off the ground when Villa scored the third sharing at the ground not wanting to make eye contact with anyone. saints 1-4 Man City
-
not sure about that, I thought the 3rd goal was soft rolling past him
-
it is a sorry state of affairs which once again makes the club look petty and vindictive. cortese needs to be reminded that he is not the club, there is a long history before him (as the book shows) and will be a long future after him , the fans are "the club" and he is just the current custodian of it. I am sure he's a good businessman but the way he has treated people in his time at the club is disgusting, consistently trying to silence any opposing views , look at the treatment of The echo, Le Tiss , Ilingsworth and the attempt to immediately airbrush Adkins from our history. the way the club have spent the 'away fans fund' shows the disregard he has for the fans. I never have and never will sing his name .

Let's be honest, he has been a big disappointment so far and is currently going the same way at Ramirez, let's hope he turns it around and comes good, but so far i haven't seen anything that makes me think he will.
