  1. do you mean why not take the chance? if it was me i'd have just given Yeovil the whole Chapel end and wished them well at selling tickets. Looking online it doesn't look like many saints fans want to sit in that end anyway
  2. Yeovil are still bringing 3100 so a good turn out from them, I expect Northam blocks 40/41/42 will be virtually full of saints fans so that whole end will be full with empty corners either side. looking online the Kingsland and Itchen centres are selling well. Not many tickets sold in the chapel though. my guess is total crowd will be about 20k I'd like us to put out a strong side then hope for luck of the draw in round 5.
  3. thats all a load of nonsense. it is purely down to lack of communication between the clubs, Yeovil were entitled to 4800, but they had to say that at the beginning before we started selling block 42 to saints fans. as they waited until they sold the initial 3100 before asking for more it was too late by then. perhaps saints should have held back block 42 on the off chanced Yeovil needed more to maximise revenue.
  4. its spot on, i'm just amazed more people can't see through it.
  5. you've missed my point then. it is too late to give them extra tickets. they have sold out the away section including block 43. (3100 ish) we would normally also give cup sides block 42 taking the allocation up to 4800. this cannot happen now as saints have already sold lots of tickets in block 42 (but left all the corners of the stadium empty)
  6. so if a yeovil fan wants to buy a ticket today they should do so in the saints end? is that what you are saying?

    Why the hate?

Hi Nicola, thanks for everything . cheers.
  8. Bit of a cockup really seeing as there will be 12k empty seats around the ground, perhaps they should have left block 42 off sale as it looks like Yeovil could have sold that as well. I am pleased there will be a big away following for this, will give it a good cup atmosphere and should help us get just over 20k i reckon
  9. so far, there is no evidence NC leaving has had much of an impact.
  10. funny you should say that as i have just been having that discussion at work, a colleague said "you've got to praise Cortese, he brought through all those young players you've got" which is crazy as i think all of them joined the club BEFORE cortese was here, so the likes of Shaw, Ward-Prowse, Chambers were spotted by the academy set up previously and at the time the club was run by Lowe.
  11. well the last one was a bit of a dictator! showed by his decision to leave than dilute his "power"
  12. i don't really blame Neil Ashton so much in all this, he has bought into the rubbish being fed to him by Cortese's PR company
  13. all the staff?! from contacts i've had there have been plenty of people who hated working for him, look at the high turnover of people that have been through the business!
  14. I agree with Duncans's post, and found Cortese's approach to finances baffling. He would screw the fans for every penny he could get , even down to the "away fan fund" gifted to the club to improve away support. Every other club spent this on subsidising away tickets / travel for THEIR fans, whereas we used it for abit of paint in the away section to save the club money on doing it up themselves. This tells me everything about Cortese's disregard for the fans. Having got as much money from the fanbase as possible he then adopted a policy of using club funds to fight his court battles such as his dispute with Benali and other firms.
  15. it amazes me the quotes i see from saints fans on here / twitter / facebook panicing about what will happen, calling Katharina Liebherr all sorts of names as thir dear Cortese is no more, and basing it all on information they are reading in papers that has been fed to them by Cortese himself!
  16. or at the very least put in a new request to the club to stock the book? i would imagine there is a good chance they will do so now good news on the ex-saints. it is healthy for the club to have good relations with the past
  17. exactly this. I was at the Everton game and saw a steward take a thank you Nigel banner off a fan , he said he "was just following orders from the top" so stuff cortese
  18. and for this very reason I find it hard to warm to Pochettino , as a character he seems to be dedicated to a chairman rather than attached to the club, the one constant at all clubs is the fans, you can replace everything else and we'll still be here so on that basis I hope the Liebherrs call his bluff and bring in someone new, if funds are still available I'm sure Poch will change his tune. I won't lose any sleep if a businessman decides to move on from the club (having been paid very handsomely for it)
  19. define "value for money" ? sunderland charged £10 for adults for their cup home game v Carlisle, that is what we should be doing to fill the ground and allow fans who have been priced out of premier league football to come along.
  20. its a crap price, and we will get a small crowd reflecting that. they could have still let season ticket holders have their own seats as long as those seats are in the open areas of the ground - that would have helped them sell a few as well.
  21. no trains running on boxing day
  22. i noticed on their website they are doing a deal where members can get tickets for £20 and school groups could get tickets, i reckon the Putney end will be full of them!
  23. best atmosphere I've been to probably Napoli or Lech Poznan , certainly not Fratton Park !
  24. its actually at home v West Ham on Wednesday
  25. i see Sunderland are charging £10 adults £5 concessions for their game at home to Carlisle, that will guarantee them a big crowd.
