  1. yes going to be a small crowd, a far cry from the "record attendance" days of West Ham at home in the Championship. Pricing all wrong making this a B game for a televised Sunday match, there are loads of seats left in block 3. looking on the website there are 4 home games on sale at one time, West Ham, Bristol City, Crystal Palace and Swansea (a sunday 1.30 kick off), not one of those games will sell out.
  2. Norwich did free coaches to Hull. I think Chelsea chartering a train for a night game away at Man Utd and charging fans £10 return is a good one as well.
  3. Fulham have a similar number of non-season ticket holder seats to sell per game, and like us stuggle to sell them for some of the less attractive matches.
  4. i'm away on holiday when that is on mate, but that will be a tasty atmosphere, loads of Poles have bought tickets in the home end so you can join them in support Arthur Boruc! i reckon 30% of the crowd will be Polish at that.
  5. for 3 or 4 less attractive games each year Fulham give their season ticket holders the chance to buy two additional tickets for £10 each, gets them to bring other people along who in turn can become regular fans. perfect opportunity would be games like Swansea at home, 1.30 kick off on a sunday, only a week after we play Palace at home, will be a small away following. would be a perfect chance to fill the ground with such a deal but instead we'll have about 28,000
  6. they genuinely don't seem to care. a pal of mine has boys who play for a club near Andover and Reading offer them a chance to visit with a ticket deal each year, they've been up there a few times and quite enjoy it, compare that to saints who have an opportunity to really promote the club with the Bristol City game but instead choose to neglect it.
  7. saints would probably have insisted on charging £18 for adults
  8. not sure if you've been to an England home game before but the atmosphere is usually dead in whatever part of the ground you go in. should be able to spot any other saints fans in the ground tonight when Lambert's name is read out.
  9. yeah that was a good shout.
  10. this. you could buy about 5 St Mary's with the putney riverside land value of craven cottage. one of my fav grounds used to like going along there standing on Hammersmith end terrace when they were in 4th division (if saints didn't have a game)
  11. it is a ridiculous policy , the ticket office is run by a bunch of amateurs making it up as they go along. my dad and his mate have season tickets together plus an additional one they share taking along family members , it's an adult season ticket but quite often used by U16. obviously when buying away tickets if they take an U16 with them they buy a ticket as such. if this can't be done anymore they'd be better off having extra season ticket as a kid's and upgrading it when they want to take an adult to home games. the responsibility should lie with the team we are playing , if they aren't checking if an adult has a child ticket then that's their problem. the story above about the chap who can't get an extra U11 for his son is familiar , why do the club make it so difficult to do something so simple. when internet streaming and every game shown in pubs becomes more common I hope attendance start to drop to force the club back into the real world where treating your customers decently is required to keep their business.
  12. You've got to wonder about Man Utd, massive ground to fill and going with those crazy prices. Guess there are plenty of football tourists who'll snap up tickets for Man Utd v Liverpool is whatever comp it is. i think people arguing that saints have "discounted" the tickets are missing the point, Saints are showing no apparent awareness around the unattractiveness of this fixture and seem content charging more and having a small crowd rather than filling the ground and attracting fans who can't usually afford to go (particularly families)
  13. I think it's quite likely sturridge will be saved for the tougher fixture away to Ukraine on the following Tuesday. Lambert and Welbeck up front for England would be decent.
  14. this. people saying "get over yourselves" yet no intention to go themselves are most annoying. for match going fans we're faced with a dilemma , would like to go but know the club are taking the **** with the prices so probably won't. same with the friendly. good idea throwing this game in with season tickets , that would get a decent turn out. 8,954 my prediction for attendance.

  16. more of a Frankie Bennett i think.
  17. traditionally games like this and pre-season were where a lot of young saints fans got their first taste of going to a game, cheap prices would attract fans that were also struggling to afford Premier league games. this would still cost £28 for a dad and 12 year old, plus booking fee. rip off. i know it is a different scale, but Brentford v Wimbledon in the JPT tomorrow night is £5 for adults.
  18. it would be nice if they stopped the whole charade around loyalty points as well, 20 points for this one apparently..... but that won't help you getting away tickets which is based on number of away games attended rather than points accumulated.
  19. behave, we would still have 4th round, 5th round, 2 leg semi final....... 4 games from Wembley. there will be about 10k for the game. anyone who went to Sheff Wed at home last year in the same round will know how dead the atmosphere was in a 1/3rd full ground with whole stands closed.
  20. the home team will propose the pricing, just happens to be the same we had for pre-season and for other such cup ties, will struggle to get over 10k i think.
  21. what a shame that the chance to get a decent crowd in has just been wasted.
  22. JRM

    Anyone help

fair play to these lads though, that must have taken one hell of an effort to build up such a collection. wonder how they verify that it really is the players signature?

    Anyone help

I am also looking for the signature of Duncan Speddiing, am happy to pay over the odds, if anyone has it please get in touch!!
  24. yes. depending what you want to see. top level games usually the best way , I've called up clubs and usually someone speaks English. lower level I tend to get tickets once out there. I'd recommend Italy and Germany for the whole fan culture / decent standard combo
  25. Swansea have some tough games in the group with Valencia, St Gallen (who saints played pre-season couple of years ago) and Russian side Kuban Krasnodar! let's hope they have them away Thursday before we play them.
