that would get a big thumbs up from me. remember a saints lad from bournemouth way setting one off in the ground in Athens 2002 Greece v England, needs a lively atmosphere for it to work.

as i say mate, don't wear colours, the worst case scenario is going in the home end which is a guaranteed insurance option to see the game. tickets were still being sold this afternoon, i dont think we are going to sell out. try giving the club a call.
-
Exactly. It has been a good run, enjoyed it so far and the 5th round tie makes it all worth while, ok we could have played a weakened team in early rounds and gone out, but the funds raised by winning a few games will help us justify bringing in new signings. prize money already confirmed - £202,500 Televised 5th round = £247,500 brings it to £450,000 Win 5th round and get another £180,000 prize money, plus another £247,500 tv money for 6th round. plus gate receipts and knock on effect of increased crowds for other games.

i think you should try calling the ticket office, or call Brentford direct. We haven't sold out yet, and it did not say the game is all ticket, so should be able to pay on the gate. you will certainly be able to get in the home end as they always pay on the door (going with a bloke from work) so that is your insurance option.

You can work out from here how much we have made from the FA Cup so far this year, amounts for winning each round, plus the tv money for the 5th round http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/FACompetitions/TheFACup/FACupPages/FACupPrizeFund20082009.aspx IF we made it through to the 6th round (which would also be televised we could get up towards a £1M earnings from the run as a whole adding in gate receipts.

what has pardew's showing in bed got to do with it?
-
According to that article if the players are not paid they can give "14 days notice". Now if the wages are due this Friday, 14 days from then is Friday 12th February, i'm pinning my hopes on this to give us a chance of winning!! Can't see it happening though. Pompey would probably like a couple of players to walk, would get them off the wage bill without having to pay them off.

I said after the game that it should never have been a red card, the mk dons player made an advance towards schneiderlin, not the other way round, he was therefore just defending himself. There needs to be some common sense and this is good to hear.

We booked up for this trip prior to the 3rd round of the Cup, obviously at that point the chances of saints making it to the 6th round was highly unlikely. We now have the awkward position of having advance trains booked and a deposit on accomodation. I guess the best scenario would be saints beat Pompey and we play someone in the north west in the 6th round to still get use out of the train tickets and a nightout in Liverpool. if you haven't booked for Tranmere yet I would certainly wait and see how the 5th round goes.

yes, the train you get on at Clapham Junction to Brentford comes from waterloo, so you might as well just change at Clapham. Clapham to Brentford takes 20mins, trains leave every 15 mins, at .47 and .17 mins past the hour. There are 4 pubs (one on each corner of the ground) have a read of this, gives some decent advice. http://www.footballgroundguide.com/brentford/

Going on the basis that block 42 will be moved, I really hope Itchen North corner will be re-opened straight away?

On a similar topic, when was the last time we had this many cup games in a season? my guess is 1992 when we got to ZDS cup final and FA Cup 1/4 final (with lots of replays on the way) So far we have : Carling Cup Northampton Birmingham JPT Torquay Charlton Norwich MK Dons away MK Dons home FA Cup Bristol Rovers Northampton Luton Ipswich Pompey if we get through against MK and the skates that would take us up to 60 games for this season!!
-
mid-way through last week there was only 500 tickets left for this game, does anyone know if we have sold out yet?
-
beat the skates. we'd only be one round off wembley in the fa cup then
-
ok that didnt come out, was a pic of the flare in the united end
-
Imagine what the saints whingers would be like if this happened (city v united)
-
yeah you are right, not sure if any of the others on here remember standing in that end around 1998 but I recall the view isn't great, if you get in late and end up at the back of the terrace just be prepared for not seeing the full pitch.
-
Good that John Stead is suspended and Richard Wright and their other keeper are out, never heard of Arran Barrett-Lee but he doesn't sound like he'd be a good keeper!
-
you are still missing the point. MK DONs did not exist until a few years ago. they do NOT have a fanbase. They give away loads of tickets to businesses and schools to try to boast interest in the town. even if there were a couple more thousand there last night the atmosphere would not have been any louder. Last night was exactly what I expected from MK Dons. They are recently created Franchise football club, therefore lacking in any soul / passionate support.
-
Yes, its a strange end, a cramped terrace with a low roof which is actually the upper tier of seats , not sure if this will work you can see a picture of the end here - http://www.footballgroundguide.com/brentford/ we are in the brook road stand. I remember going there is the CocaCola cup in 1998 I think and we were in that end, we didnt fill it but worth getting in early if you want to get a prime spot and a decent view.
-
to be fair it has worked in the cricket, shame though, I used to love day 5 of a test, England win by taking a wicket and a mad dash to get a stump. also watch any big series in England during the 70s + 80s and almost every boundary at Lords was greated by a few fans having a run around, especially remember one video of a west indian fan with a afro rolling onto the pitch in celebration.

I think he was saying they don't have the fans in the first place to be plastic stayaways. It is MK Dons who were only formed a few years ago. They haven't built up a base of fans who can stay away, they weren't there in the first place
