  1. I was at both games in Norway 2007 and can't remember that happening? hope we play somewhere like that again this summer.

I agree with majority of what you say above. although i wouldnt worry too much about allocations being cut, and as for millwall they do that for most teams, i drank in london all day, travelled to the ground and back into town afterwards, only time i was affected was held in after the game for 10 mins. running onto the pitch is fun though, i've penciled in MK Dons at home for the 2nd leg and Southend at home to celebrate our mid-table finish, must remember to wear appropriate footwear to those games

I always have a good laugh at the concerned "oh dear oh dear aren't our fans terrible, what is the world coming to, ban the lot of them" comments. I agree, the atmosphere should have been better. But I also cannot see why you get wound up so much.
  4. yes absolutely, that had a big impact, no home fans kills the potential to get the banter going, its same at st marys when the away team brings virtually nothing we tend to be quiet as well.

bet you lot are a right barrel of laughs on the train home. depends on how old his kids were, but good to see some people enjoying their day out rather than just moaning like you morons.
  6. I agree about the atmosphere, we had excellent numbers up there but the noise was poor. Couple of renditions of "we're by far the greatest team" was probably the loudest it got, as well as giving the ref abuse (which he deserved). I think our vocal support can be attributed to a) a lot of the fans we have just dont sing and b) most of our songs involve lots of fast clapping that just fizzles out. seriously try watching man united's away support, exellent example of big numbers and decent songs.

I know mate I was at the game. Just don't know why it bothers some of you so much. It's football, a little bit of rogue behaviour is ok with me, contrasts nicely with the cosy sanitised atmosphere of new stadiums. If it was the 2nd leg I'd probably have been on as well for a quick stretch of the legs before getting the train home.

OK mate, carry on making things up in your mind if it helps you with your "disgust" . Southend's biggest game for potential trouble was Colchester - played on a saturday. They have played 6 games on Friday this year against teams such as MK Dons, Gillingham and Orient. Obviously in this case a pitch invasion would have been better in the 2ng leg, like Villa's last night.

Usual boring rubbish, give it a rest and just enjoy the win. You don't know what you're on about anyway - Southend have played the majority of their home games on Friday nights this season, they think it helps them attract a few more fans who would otherwise follow other teams on a saturday, Brighton was on their request as 2 games over Easter weekend and they have a long trip to Hartlepool and wanted a bigger gap between games.
  10. of course the other solution would be for about 700 of us to get tickets in the home end, they'll just let us into the away terrace anyway.
  11. I think we will get more tickets, how can they get away with giving us 500 terrace allocation which has an official capacity of 1200, if they are worried about it the simple solution would be DONT INVITE PEOPLE INTO THE AWAY END WHO DONT HAVE TICKETS THERE
  12. you will be fine, they told me there is a ticket window at the away end, 400 on sale on the day I very much doubt we will have more than 100 going up without tickets.
  13. this is a very good point. Liverpool spent more last season paying interest on their loans than on transfers. If all of the cash was available for transfers they might have won the league.......... so IF Liebherr had borrowed to buy the club, then used the clubs income to pay off the debt, we would not be able to also afford to make signings like we are now.
  14. Wigley is available as well now !
  15. where there's a will there's a way.
  16. not too bad i suppose. still under half of what we took to orient though. A equivalent journey time and ticket price. Arguably Millwall is a bigger game in the context of the season.
  17. I would rather they went down normally this year, and get a big deduction next year in the championship, effectively sentencing them to another certain relegation and a visit to league one
  18. I called up Thursday lunchtime as got a mate in London who might come as well, but doesnt want to decide until the day, the ticket office said there are 500 left and therefore buying them on the door should not be a problem.
  19. No bank would have lent them money against such an unreliable receivable, and if they did it would be at a vastly reduced advance rate, so if the tv money due was 7M they might have been lent 60% of it against legal documentation assigning the banks right to the money. It is possible that the club were able to get a loan due for payment end of Jan in the knowledge that they would get an injection of cash, but either way whoever the creditor is now needs to decide if they call in debt. The chances are they will have to find another source of income = player sales.
  20. hahahahaha there are some quality comments there. clearly not a player they will miss, and are surprised that we would want to take him on. someone should print that norwich thread and send it to Pardew to use as motivation for Ostemobor, prove them all wrong etc etc.
  21. why have Norwich released him? and what do their fans think?

    Injury update

you sure he wasn't working as a bouncer for the night?
  23. Sky wont risk upsetting their subscribers by dropping our game in favour of Liverpool v Tottenham
  24. so that is Huddersfield, Leeds and Swindon all at home in March. If we were still in the running for play offs they could be cracking games.
