Possibly an interesting option.

What does Turdishley do at Fulham exactly ?
-
Never saw him play, well before even my time, but I recall how older relatives spoke of him and the respect and admiration they held for him. Have seen him interviewed a few times, always seemed one of the true Gentlemen of the game (from a bygone age). RIP.

Shame about Fulham, but Meulensteen yet again proves the Gray -Wigley theory that good assistants don't make even average managers. Magath has the chance to disprove the 'Lowe rule of relativity' ie Dickheaded chairmen who appoint three managers in a season go down the sh!t shoot. This comes as no surprise though, other than I had expected Creep Curbishley to take the job. He obviously thinks they've gone as well and doesn't want this relegation on his cv. Probably take over in the summer. Hope Magath pulls it off, but unlikely.

I remember a Viz cartoon of Roger Mellie where he introduced a tv programme with " welcome to Windsor, behind us is a f*cking great tw^tter of a castle .." Does that count ?

Southampton Linked With Surprise Move for AS Monaco Winger - Lucas Ocampos
Badger replied to Wiggles31's topic in The Saints
Googled him yesterday, and there was a link to a story that Monaco were looking to offload him last window to an Italian club. -
But the Combination was regional, and would include say, Oxford, Northampton and anyone in the south who wanted to field a second team.

Good spot.

Good one. Shame its a bit of a slow crap tune to get going though.

We've been crying out for a haircut like that in our team for ages.

Has there ever been a closer knit Saints side........

Actually that clip should be compulsory watching at SFC by both MP & KL. They are bound to conclude how good the River Plate sash looks, and they even feature in red and white stripes as well. Back on the player though, aren't Monaco a mega-funded club. No need to sell for stupid money. Unless of course Dalian Wanda is bankrolling it personally... -

Don't they all ? And is it compulsory to play such sh!t music with a clip ? Anyone ever measured the correlation with the skill factor:sh!t music, is it crappier the track better the player ? It has to be that way because you would not remain watching a poor player with that sound in the background. -

Remember seeing that from the Archers Road End. Wright kneeling down doing his laces up when this character appeared wrapping his coat over him as it was raining ! -

That was my first thought on seeing the thread. Perhaps a slight difference is that this lot look 'close knit' on the pitch, whereas the Greats of The Alehouse formed their greatest bonds off the pitch, and mostly at the bar, often "after hours". The Alehouse did not always show the same unity on the pitch as this lot, and performances were often more disjointed than now, perhaps explained (as my late father told me years later) by some of the players being on the p!ss the night/morning before a match. -

I think it was a half time spat between Lawrie and one of them initially, (half time v QPR in the League Cup sticks in my mind) , and the other got involved. Story at the time that Wright pushed Lawrie in the bath. -
Jesus as our saviour. But do we learn nothing from experience ? Gray, Wigley ?
-
or want a Champions League team to "fulfil their potential ..."etc
-
Had Cork been playing since August, in the form he is currently displaying, I think he'd have been a contender but unlikely to shift the Gerrard/Lampards etc to make the final squad.
-
No surprise really. Hope he gets a Premiership goal to cap his time with us.
-
Difficult one to make a call on. As someone else said, selection could be on the particular opposition. Heart wants to vote CC as another from the academy. Perhaps he's stronger, most definitely taller. But Clyne has that extra pace, and danger going forward, so gets my vote (tonight).
-
Don't we need another point for safety first though ?
-
Yes, I think he would. One of the most reliable ever, for three or four seasons. But he'd never get to take a penalty now.
-
Don't worry Ottery, Katharina & her team will charm them and they'll either forget who NC was, or run some "why nasty Nic had to go.." stories. Probably on FA Cup semi-final day.
