  1. This playbook is a load of old pony. City & teams like that can have a playbook because they have better players than everyone else. They can continue to play the same way, safe in the knowledge the opposition won’t be able to counter it no matter what they do. We need to be flexible, clever, surprise teams. If they’ve got mincers at the back, get it in the mixer. If they’ve got a couple of pirates at centre half, play a false 9, or a nippy front man. If they’re good on the counter, sit back, if they don’t like being pressed, press them. What’s this obsession with playing “our” way. My advice to the new man would be, have a balanced squad, watch the opposition (as in scouting) and then adjust tactically to them. You clearly have to have a defensive framework, but then tweak that depending on circumstances. Despite its dinosaur reputation, 4-4-2 lends its self to quick tactical changes depending on circumstances and opposition, most trendy hipster formations are at heart 9 men behind the ball when defending and 5 going forward when attacking. A fluid 4-4-2 covers most eventualities. We need to stop with this pony like “they know the triggers”, or “good without the ball”. Fucking pony. Can they play? Yes or fucking no? If they can, they’re in, if they can’t they’re out. Regardless of the “triggers” or how good they are without the ball. If they’re only good without the ball, We’ll pick them when we’re not using a ball, but until then. Fuck off
  2. And what’s one thing SAF says to young managers? “Pick the right owner”. Heard that from him many times, when discussing players thinking of going into the managerial game. Steve Gibson, or our 🤡 show?
  3. Toney banned for 8 months, fucking joke it’s taken so long. Shame Adam Armstrong or Che dont like a flutter….
  4. A couple of Tadic’s performances stood out for me, City & Bournemouth. On those 2 days he was up there with Bally as the best first touch & weight of pass ive seen from anyone in a saints shirt. Staying up at Swansea. Watching Saints in the San Siro with my lad and my mates.
  5. Nuno wouldn’t be a bad shout, but the “entertainment over results” crowd might not be happy. He’s a pretty negative coach.
  6. You’ve asked people to rate effort & commitment only but then posted Tall Paul as a 6, before writing “I’m sure he’s trying his best”, surely that’s a 10 then. If you’re serious about this you wouldn’t give Moi a 1 or AA 0, whereas AMN gets a 3 & Salisu a 4 despite “balling out”.
  7. I’d like to thank SOG for saving me the time of finding his ridiculous no votes wasted pony, by rehashing it again. If I stood as an independent under PR & Mrs Duck was the only person who voted for me, then I’m pretty sure most normal people would call that a wasted vote. Not in Sog’s weird mind though. Evidently, it’s not wasted until the seats are dished out, which is exactly how FPTP works, after the count every vote that didn’t result in an MP could be considered wasted by SOG. Yet votes under PR that don’t result in an MP (and there will be some) don’t. If that’s not making a cock of yourself I don’t know what is.
  8. He tried to claim that under PR every single vote counted, that there wouldn’t be one wasted vote.Even people supporting electoral reform were telling him to shut up.
  9. You made a right cock of yourself last time you tried to argue for PR, so I’d give it a rest if I was you….
  10. Fuck off does it. Playing and putting a shift in shows he cares, writing a load of pony just shows he’s media savvy….
  11. When safe standing comes in, they should put it in the chapel and then enforce seating everywhere else.
  12. He’s been fucking pony all season, Bournemouth away was about his only decent game. Writes a heartfelt apology and you’re lapping it up.
  13. Not against Forest he didn’t. Played like he couldn’t give a shite. Writes a humble apology and people are lapping it up. He can fuck off with the rest of them as far as I’m concerned.
  14. This is why I’m confident that they will continue to invest and get us back into the big time. The next explosion is going to be The Premier league broadcasting it’s own content, followed by clubs streaming their own games. The money they’ll make will be eye watering, far in excess of what we’re seeing now.
  15. Can you put threads on ignore?
  16. Not only was the football horrendous, but the trains were probably the worst I can remember. Crystal Palace a particular low, I felt like John Candy in Trains, Planes & automobiles trying to reach Sellhurst by kick off time. Train strike yesterday & relegation a perfect fit which summed up the season, and we’ve more train nonsense next week on route to Brighton. That said, I’m already stating to look forward to next season and come Aug I’ll be full of confidence that the people who stopped going will miss a great season when we finally win the championship.
  17. I had the misfortune to hear Blackmore interviewing KWP on way home yesterday. He’s still sucking off Ralph. “Oh one person who’ll be hurting tonight is Ralph” and some comment about he’d probably have kept us up. What’s clear from the article, but also the atrocious start to the season, is the problems started under him. He should have been out out of his misery last summer or given full reign to bring in his own coaches and staff. This bizarre notion that you can sack the coaching staff , give the manager a stay of execution and he’ll maintain his authority is plain wrong. He was on borrowed time, everybody could see that, and I’ve no doubt that would have contributed to standards slipping. I’ve been very critical of Ralph, but he did appear to have high standards and control, but once SR undermined him without removing him, that all went.
  18. It’s a no from me then. Why on earth would we want him to stay, he can’t get anywhere near one of the worst premier league sides ever. A side where Moi, Walcott & Adam Armstrong get game time.
  19. Get relegated and a bunch of nods don’t want to go anymore. Pathetic.
  20. Pathetic comment. Of course it’s going to be about him. They fucking asked him questions about himself. What’s he supposed to answer when asked about himself, start talking about the weather?
  21. Interesting that Bournemouth have released a statement & written to their supporters regarding their behaviour at away games, specifically mention the “flare” at our game. They’ve been told they now have to show ID and will only be allowed in if their in possession of a ticket purchased in their name. They claim checks will be in place and they need to arrive early. They’ve also be told their account will be frozen & they won’t be able to buy anymore tickets if somebody is found with a ticket in a different name. Not sure how it’ll work in practise and probably just an idle threat, but away fans behaviour is obviously becoming an issue. Probably to do with identifying who is in each seat for cctv as they’ve also been told they must sit in allocated seat (although I can’t see how they enforce that). Eventually, they’ll probably be able to print names on tickets easily, so I imagine all games will end up like this.
  22. Fulham are currently 10th, 4 places above the side the genius Cortese built in his glorious first premier league campaign. Bournemouth are 14th, So we were 14th, then 8th. We were miserable in all senior cup competitions and we didn’t even win League 1 or the Championship. We had better achievements the 3 seasons after he left. Where we weren’t “not far off”, we were actually in Europe.
