If it was about being proven in the championship, then surely they should have stuck with baldy. After all he won that league.

What a load of nonsense. Of course it will be a deterrent. The spokesman for the serious crime squad has just said on Radio 5 that nobody can now doubt the seriousness that the courts take this offense. I'm sure a lot of people will think twice now.
-
The seriousness of the background crime will be taken into account and a term of 6 months or so will be the result. The principle of jail time for this offense should and will be upheld, there can be no watering down of that basic principle.
-
Nonsense, you have to send out a message that perverting the course of justice is a very serious offense. If you lessen it where will it end? Perjury & perverting the course of justice are 2 offenses that form major pillars of our justice system and enable the police and juries/courts to do their job .

If we're out of the bottom 3 come Barry's birthday (1st April) then I think we'll be safe. Winnable home games against West Brom, West Ham and Stoke. Swansea will have nothing to play for and Reading will be pretty much down by then. Sunderland away will be tough and Spurs more or less impossible. I would back us to match 2 of QPR/Wigan/Villa with those fixtures. Quite frankly if we go down with a run in like that, we can not complain about luck or ref's decisions or any sort of nonsense. There must be 10 points out of that lot, with Liverpool and Chelsea being "bonus" games.

Saints charged by FA for failing to control players vs Norwich
Lord Duckhunter replied to patred44's topic in The Saints
As does Ramirez. -
Sorry, I just didn't rate him particularly highly. I think the standard is better now, and I think he'd struggle. All SRL lacks is a bit of pace. Plenty of experts have said he'd be playing for a top 4 club with that, which says to me that his football ability is top class. Beattie's pure ability (particularly his first touch) was nowhere near the standard of SRL's and that's why once the initial flush of youth had faded he slipped down the leagues. I lost count of the number of times I came home cursing Beattie to my Mrs. Maybe he was my Guly or Fox, but I just didn't rate the guy.

Not forgetting the B sides. When you have B sides like, Rain, Don't let me down, This boy, Revolution, She's a women, I'm Down, and Old Brown shoe that were never even on UK albums (apart from an acoustic version of revolution) it really shows just what an incredible band they really were.
-
No where near good enough to play for England. Doubt if it was cliques, this interview in his bedroom or any other sort of nonsense, just that he wasn't a good enough player. Contrast SRL's touch, football brain, professionalism and attitude to his, and you can see why one was washed up at 27 and ones playing regularly in the Premiership in his 30's.

I would rather have fox than surman.

Love it, Great they lost, even better that it was undeserved and Taggart was all upset. Funny as ****, how many times have they fluked it because of the ref? Anyway Taggart should be glad the ref's are clamping down on dangerous play, remember it wasn't long ago that RVP was nearly "killed" by a football being kicked at him.LOL............

The problem with that position is it fundamentally misunderstands the very nature of the EU. The principles of the EU involve ever closer union, that's what is at the heart of it. It is an ever moving beast that pauses every now and again before consuming more national sovereignty. It has gone from a trading bloc to where it is now and will not stop until there is a federal Europe. Remaining in the EU, as it is now is not an option, because it wont remain as it is now. It is like World Peace, a dream that looks good on paper but has no basis in reality. The options are remaining in and trusting future PM's to try and put the brakes on further integration ( they all go native in the end), or getting out. I doubt whether there's 1% of the British population who would want to get out of the EEC, had it remained a trading bloc. As Michael Portillio once said, the Europeans view the EU as an evolving thing, whereas the British view it as a club we joined , whose rules will remain the same. Those two positions have not and can not be reconciled.

Team playing well under Pochettino: MYTH
Lord Duckhunter replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
I would suggest that performances are also very similar, should have won and chucked it away Wigan-Stoke, played really well second half but got nowt, Man Utd-Spurs, played well and won, Villa-Man City, got a draw when we should have won Norwich-Everton, and played shiete and lost a winnable game Sunderland-QPR. Seeing as it's the same players, it's not really a surprise. Some people need to get a grip, good job the internet wasn't around when Lawrie took over from Ted. -
But yesterday was just going through the motions. He did not get anywhere near the abuse he got in '05 at Fratton and nowhere near anything that would have made him uncomfortable. That day all the hatred towards him translated itself to the players, who shat themselves, made him make mistakes tactically and generally cost us the game. Yesterday was a stroll in the park and we would have been better off creating the atmosphere we had against City, ie getting behind the side, and forgetting about Twitchy.

Would Di Matteo be welcomed if appointed
Lord Duckhunter replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
I was listening to Talksport yesterday and Mark Saggers was talking to a Chelsea fan over the air. The Chelsea guy was banging on about RDM and Saggers said there were plenty of rumours in the game that senior players dictated the side and tactics under him and there were lots of "issues" with his management. Would we have Avram Grant, who don't forget was a slipped penalty kick away from doing exactly the same thing.? -
I thought the Redknapp stuff was pretty poor, nothing original or funny. Just singing "we ****ing hate you" made us look a bit 2 bob in my opinion. There wasn't really the raw passion, the real hate against him. Hate to say it but that awful day at Fratton, that was a atmosphere of real hate that affected his players, ours was just going through the motions. Should have stuck to supporting team rather than get side-tracked by Redknapp, it makes us look a bit silly when we lose.

Anybody who thinks we wouldn't have put in a performance like this under Nigel is clearly deluded. It may not have been this exact game, but we would of had a terrible performance if Nigel had stayed. People need to get a grip and calm down. Onto the performance, Cork played well, Jay Rod did ok, but everybody else was a bit pedestrian. Maya had his poorest game for weeks. Fox was no worse than anyone else, but I guess he'll get stick

They were in the frog and parrot and were clearly cardinals or popes. Ffs, get a grip they were not KKK

To leave the EU. For the UK to govern itself. It's just not about immigration . The point about EU immigration is that the British electorate, and the British parliament have no choice. What is racist about wanting the British people to decide how to run our borders?

Music is one of the most important unimportant things in my life, but I never get sentimental about shops or the charts ECT. Personally, I've got into a lot of stuff via YouTube and other such media. I didn't want my parents ramming their music and how they listened to it down my throat so ain't going to be doing so to my kids. I think downloads are far better than 33/45's or cd's, and if it means skipping revolution number 9 or yellow submarine, then that a bonus. There has always been shiete music, even in the great years of '68-'77. I hate modern music , but in a way that's great. My grandparents hated jerry lee Lewis, my dad hated my music. Part of what makes music great and fresh, is that old fossils like me dont get it.

Was more of a peno than the one we got at Villa.

Has anyone on here (adult) got into St Marys with a childs ticket.
Lord Duckhunter replied to bjk's topic in The Saints
The OP doesn't say whether it's a season ticket or a match ticket. Match ticket, the adult knows the score and if he gets refused entry then so be it. Wouldn't try it with a nippers season ticket in case the nipper's ticket got confiscated/deactivated. Pretty poor form if the nipper misses any matches because your mate is too tight to upgrade. -
Hang on, unless I'm missing something the Mayor was wanting the assembly to scrutinise his budget, to ask questions on behalf of Londoners and they voted against it. If he's showing a lack of leadership, what does that say about the people unwilling to question him?

Never thought old cleggys defence that he never knew would fall apart quite so quickly. statement being made tonight, like to see how Clegg gets out of this.

Perhaps Jos is playing better because he's suddenly not an automatic choice to replace Fonte. Sometimes bringing more competition in, brings more out of the existing players.
