Le Tissier: "Cortese is not a nice human being"
Lord Duckhunter replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Where were we when he took over, compared to where we are now? If he's out of his depth, where on earth do you think we should be? ****ing hell, if we've done that well with a Chairman who is out of his depth, Imagine where we could be. -
Get ready for Bulgarians and Romanians coming
Lord Duckhunter replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Lounge
Perhaps they could employ British people. You cant watch a BBC political programme without someone complaining about lack of jobs. Yet eastern Europeans seem to find them, all very strange......... -
Do people wish Leon Crouch, Lawrie and Matt were running the club, and do they think we'd be in the Premiership if they were?

What a load of shiete. How is his treatment of Adkins any difference than Adkins treatment of Hammond? This is what Guillem Balague said. "Ive seen Pochettino work at Espanyol. His commitment, his style, how he deals with youth, tactics. If I was a Southampton fan Id be excited" Perhaps NC was not satisfied with our performance, perhaps he really does want us to go to another level. Perhaps he knows more about the game than you do.
-
Spot on, 100% agree. Chelsea have won 6 games in a row away from home, home record is awful............
-
Lose his job, why? His record is fantastic.
-
What about the way Hammond and Sharpe were treated, notice the similarity? That's football. Adkins made a judgement call that he could find better than Hammond, NC has done the same thing. Time will tell if he was right. All the people talking about protests and never going again, need to get a grip. I'm sure the same people were moaning about Pards going, that was the right call. Here's a thought today's call could be right as well. Perhaps NC*knows more about football than some people seem to think.

The lino's now been "stood down" by the body that runs ref's . http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jan/15/linesman-manchester-city-arsenal

Very very poor player. I'd rate him alongside Skacel and Surman, all wave and no performance.
-
Spot on. He hasn't been booed, he hasn't become a scapegoat, in fact quite the opposite,he gets more support than most of the other players. But I genuinely don't recongnise the Gaston Ramirez some posters talk about on here, world class, one of the best players in the league, winning games for us. Never in a month of Sundays, he has flattered to deceive and people would not be saying these things about him if he played for Villa, QPR, Sunderland or Reading. Tim Vicory doubted if he would make an impact in English football and I hope he's proved wrong, but from the very short spell he's spent here, you can see his point. Lets not pretend he's been anything other than average so far .Just because he plays for us, does not make him better than he is. Where are the neutrals raving about him and his performances, because I haven't seen or heard any.
-
Shows how bad we've been in nets this season, that we make the keeper MoTM for just doing his job. Gazza is too inexperienced and Kelvin shot to bits, so AB to stay.

Why is it that if anyone dares comment on a player in a negative way, they either don't go to games or are embarrassing? Take your red and white tinted glasses off and ask yourselves if the Villa fans came away saying how wonderful he was yesterday. We won despite of him, not because of him. Had Guly played like he did yesterday, would a thread about it be "embarrassing"" would critics be told that they "didn't go to games" . Benteke, Michu, Sterling have burst upon the scene, having neutrals and pundits raving about them. I've yet to hear one pundit or one neutral speak about Gaston in the same way. The only people who seem to say what a talent is, are Saints supporters, players and staff. There's not one person on here who doesn't want him to succeed, but in answer to the tittle of the thread "has he lived up to the hype" is no or not yet. Personally I believe we would have beaten Villa at home and Newcastle at home with or without him and I'm yet to be convinced he can be the difference in tight games like Taarabt is for QPR , by the way he is 23 compared to Gaston's 22.
-
I'd have rather had Guly, than them, defensively he's had a couple of good games lately. De Ridder was absolutely hopeless at doing the job he was sent on to do yesterday, he didn't seem to have a clue what he was doing and panicked every time he got the ball. He aged me by about 10 years..
-
Did anyone see him leaving the pitch yesterday, he seemed to be having a go at some Villa fans by the tunnel. I presume they were ****ed off with his timewasting, but he was defo pointing and winding them up as he left.
-
That's my point, I dont think he has shown the ability YET. What exactly has he done, one good half against Villa when everybody played well. Ability is not just about pretty touches and skill otherwise we would have signed Mr Woo. Football ability involves tackling, tracking back, and doing a job for the team. He looks totally uninterested in doing any of that. I could accept that ,as Alan Ball did of Matt, if he was producing at the other end, but he's not. He gives the ball away more than anyone else, his set pieces are pretty poor and he goes missing for vast spells of the game.

It was a win-win for the European elite, who really want a superstate. If it works, then great, the project is on track. But if it fails, the reason for failure will be there was no economic union and the remedy for the failure will be closer economic and monetary union, ie another step closer to their dream of a full United States of Europe by the backdoor.

Is it okay for Saints players to dive and cheat?
Lord Duckhunter replied to the stain's topic in The Saints
Firstly, it was a dive, end of. Secondly, there's not a Villa player on the pitch that would not have done the same thing if it meant the difference between 3 points and none. I seriously doubt if one member of the Saints staff mentioned it to Jay Rod, or said "you should have stayed on your feet". The only time clubs will deal with dives is when they start affecting Ref's decisions ie I think Lallana has not got penos because he's been exaggerating contact. Thirdly, Lambert hit the nail on the head and Mick Quinn made the same point this morning on Talksport. Had that gone against us, Lambert & Quinn would not have blamed the striker, but the defender for diving in for the ball like that. Finally, Mike Atherton summed it up when talking about cheating. Said he never walked when he hit the ball, and if given not out stood his ground. He said that plenty of times he hadn't hit the ball and the umpire gave him out, that he felt he should just take the rough with the smooth and leave it up to the umpire. If he's given out, when he's in, so be it and visa versa. Same with us, it's not Paul Lambert's job to give Peno's it's the referee's. Just as it was the referee's job to decide if Gaston's Arsenal "goal" stood or not.One went for us, one against. -
So some of our supporters should calm down and stop bigging him up. He passes the ball to one of our players and their gushing in their praise over him. If he gives it away to the opposition, it's because "they are not on his wavelength". He plays poorly and it's because Adkkins is playing him out of position and finally the gem that he'd be better with better players, well who wouldn't be ? Even Guly would look good in the Barca side. Our supporters are seeing good things and overlooking bad, because they want him to do well, because they were told he was a fantastic talent. There's been no evidence of it where it matters, on the pitch. If he'd been an unknown come in from Africa, they'd be calling for him to be dropped by now.
-
What!!!! He's yet to show he can be one of the best players in our team, let alone the league. He has flattered to deceive and has been very average 95% of the time. Two of the poorest teams in the league were on show yesterday, and he was one of the worst players on the pitch. Far from showing he could be one of the best players in the league, if he hadn't been a big signing, he'd be sat on the bench by now. He may come good, he may not. But I've seen nothing from him I haven't seen from Puncheon or countless other "lesser" stars.

****, I only saw him Oct on last tour, very sad......

I've seen both surviving Beatles and both gave great shows. Saw McCartney twice, once in '79 and once in '91. The '91 time he gave a fantastic performance, really was unbelievable. Really is a shame that his voice appears to have gone, because he really was great live. Ringo, I wasn't expecting a lot, but he had a great band with him, people like Rick Derringer and Edgar Winter and it was a great **** up and enjoyable night. Other great shows, Paul Simon,Chuck Berry, Paul Weller and Johnny Cash at the Albert Hall. Dr Feelgood was also a great live band.

The idea of a single currency without economic union is NOT a good idea, has never been a good idea and will never be a good idea. The mess in Europe was made worse by countries being unable to control the levers needed to weather the economic storm.
-
So that's it then, because you think its stupid to leave, we'll leave it at that shall we? Why don't we just stop having expensive elections and just let you and people you agree with govern us. You've demonstrated exactly the behaviours we've come to expect from the EU supporters. The we know what's best for you attitude. A vote on it?" How dare you ask for a vote, you had one 40 years ago." Vote against us?" how dare you, vote again and again". I bet you thought the euro was a good idea, didn't you? See that's the thing, 15 years ago people against the euro were being insulted. Yet they were right, the euro nuts were wrong.

What i actually said was that lefties are all over the place over Europe, not that lefties alone support it, I'm fully aware or grocer heaths role in taking us into this ridiculous vanity project. My point was that foregin police force can arrest a British citizan on UK soil over a crime that is not a crime in the UK. Lefties are jumping up and down over that sort of thing, until it involves "the project". Like it or not far from from"being isolated" the people calling for withdrawal are on the up. Ukip above labour and lib/dems in last euro elections, opinion polls showing that as majority view. It's your side of the arguement that won't put it to the people not mine.
