  1. The thing is though, the ref was clearly a joker so it was a very silly thing to do. As Adkins identified in his interview, coming to terms with the reffing was just as important as handling Colchester.
  2. Exactly. For Saints it's a game against an automatic promotion rival. For Bournemouth it is all sorts of weird and wonderful things. Our record against auto-promoton rivals this season is very good. We have beaten The Cherries twice. We have taken 4 points from Peterborough. We have beaten Huddersfield and lost to Huddersfield. We have draw with Brighton and outplayed them. I think we should all be looking for a win on Saturday, although a draw will also be an ok result.
  3. Richardson does create openings with his pace sometimes. There have been a few instances of him surging forward and slipping a decent ball in. Butterfield on the other hand has a "better right foot" IMO and is a better crosser. Butterfield is better at the basics of defending but doesn't have the recovery speed of Richardson. Both are probably better than any right back we have said since we were in the Premier League and are excellent options for a third tier team to have!
  4. He was very, very good. I think we were very unlucky on Tuesday. The injury to Schneiderlin so early on threw a big spanner in the works. The thing is, Chambo consistently gets assists and plays well yet some people on here don't seem to rate him that much. Very odd IMO. You can see exactly why the top clubs are interested in him. You could see it within about 10 minutes of his first appearance.
  5. I was thinking about this. I think I would prefer to start with Ox, get a couple of goals and then take him off after 60 though. If we start with N'Guesan and he doesn't beat 10 players within the first five minutes the usual synaptically challenged element of the crowd will start getting restless and throw their rusks on the floor and there will be a danger the atmosphere gets nervy. I would bring Martin in for Jaidi but otherwise start with the same team. I would look to bring Ox and Lambert off after 60-70 minutes if we are comfortable.
  6. Meh. It seems you can do pretty much whatever you want nowadays as long as you don't touch the ball.
  7. I agree more or less with your description of the match. We did play decent possession in the second half. BBC gives us 61% possession across the match which is very high. Giving Jaidi a "4" is mental though. He was a rock. It's completely unfair to remember one or two dodgy passes. I expect Lallana or Lambert made just as many. And how can you say Kelvin worried you with his clearances? That just suggests to me that you have conditioned yourself to worry about them regardless of how he actually played. If Bart had been in goal yesterday and played the same you would have people knocking one off on here about how well he commanded his area and how comfortable the defence looked in front of him.
  8. This is right, although they have Leicester away shortly which will be tricky. Leeds and Burnely also have a lot of winnable games coming up. The fact is, that unless Leeds have a really big slump, the Skates would need to produce Championship winning form for the rest of the season to make up 7 or 8 points in 11 games. And this on the back of a 6 game winning run. Can't see it happening; they will have one or two bad results sooner or later and that will be the end of it.
  9. It could be worse, they could've appointed Megson.
  10. I'm not backtracking - it was nonsense, mostly. As for your other point: of course going to the matches makes your opinion more interesting and worthy of being listened to. That's obvious. It's a first hand opinion (this is not a controversial concept). Your opinion is based on selecting various parts of third party reports, twisting them into a funny misanthropic charicature and then spunking them liberally about the place in an emphatic, dogmatic, laughably portentous and highly entertaining manner.
  11. The red card was pretty funny at the time but it's even better on highlights. I thought the player who slid in on Davis should've been in trouble with the ref. He also caught Butterfield. Their other player has a go at Butterfield for some reason(?!) and gets sent off - brilliant! Honestly, that ref was comedy but in the end he did well for us.
  12. I disagree with it. lol@youbeingsanctimonious
  13. I reckon Bournemouth will be ****e on Saturday, completely bottle it and we will win 3-1 or something like that. I honestly don't think they are anything special and reckon they will finish behind us, Peterborough and maybe Huddersfield too. Fair play to them for massively overachieving anyway though.
  14. If they get promoted then it is good news for Chanrai as it will make it easier to convinve some mug to buy him out. Obviously they will remain a club with a lower league infrastructure so yes, unless they spunk loads of cash they will no doubt get relegated again pretty soon. Anyway, there is not a cat in hell's chance of them going up so it doesn't matter.
  15. Exactly. Regardless of what you think of his policies to describe him as a "bellend" cannot be right. He is head and shoulders, as a statesman, above any party leader or PM since Thatcher. The only exception might be Blair but there is someone who truly is an almighty bellend. Cameron or Brown/Prescott/Millibean representing Britain on the world stage? There's a tough choice.
  16. I was at the game and I think he is wrong with nearly everything he says. I think we can all agree that both his and my opinions are more worth listening to than yours, at least.
  17. Can I also take a moment to point out to the "Schneiderlin is the only person in the team who can pass" brigade to point that a carbon copy of the build up to the second goal at Swindon occured yesterday. I can't remember who it was but someone picked the ball up in the left hand third of the pitch and pinged a great long ball right on to Chamberlain's foot. He took it past the defender first time and ended up running into the box.
  18. LOL. A whole list of nonsense points (apart from the Barnard one).
  19. Well, I'm correct, therefore I think the contrary view is rubbish although I probably should have used a less emphatic word for the sake of pleasantness so I would hereby like to apologise to Dr Who and ask him to read "rubbish" as "piffle". The win was comfortable.
  20. Indeed and that's largely due to the first few home games of the seasoning.
  21. Jaidi did far more good than bad today. The whole back 5 were excellent.
  22. Rubbish. We weren't nervous and we weren't terrible. We were playing a team who get it into the box at every opportunity and a ref who was an accident waiting to happen. We were more than a match physically and in attitude and ultimately our players made their class tell. Any side would've looked less than champagne at times out there today.
  23. Good professional performance. The only time Col looked like they might score was from corners. We looked good in attack and created plenty of near misses. Chamberlain was quality. Chaplow had an excellent second half. Ref was awful but luckily it worked out ok for us. You could tell he would be awful before the match. Fat and old.
  24. It's nice to know you will give the gift of laughter as well as life.
  25. Well indeed. We value that more than ensuring that people don't die of preventable diseases. That children have decent sanitation. Awful.
