Anyway, that is really my point; we have been hampered by Lambert's poor form and coincidental failure to convert chances by the likes of Puncheon. It's annoying because it's not something that Pardew or Adkins could really do anything about. I think we need to bring in a serious competitor for Lambert in January though as it's the sole thing jeopardising our season.

This is the point. I have no idea who that poster was or how he got team information. I have no idea if everything he said was accurate or just some of it. What was obvious though is that he was intent on smattering every post with personal attacks. These were, in some cases, nothing more than lame childish name calling but in some cases were potentially seriously detrimental to the reputation of the targets. Now, the people who own this board are potentially liable for consequences of ill-judged personal attacks on here and if they want to protect their asses then that's fine with me. They should be able to do this without facing an inquisition from some of the more obssessive weirdos on here.

Watching Norwich v Ipswich and it's obvious that our current team is easily good enough to finish around the middle of the Championship. Both of them are rubbish at the back and none of them have a player on the pitch with the standard of Lallana or Fonte. So, why aren't we walking the league... IMO it's purely down to missed chances this season. Had we not missed sitters we would have beaten Orien, Rochdale and Brighton at home, for starters. 7 more points, we would be up there and looking like walking it. Right now the only thing threatening our promotion is our failure to convert gilt-edged chances.

We won't miss Holmes and we won't miss Richardson so long as Butterfied is fit. We have good strength in depth at CB so doing without Fonte for one game shouldn't be a disaster either. The Lambert injury could work to our favour in the long run if it forces us to find a successful alternative option. How did Gobern do?
