Obviously we're comparing RM to the Hughes of Saints (and his record prior to that), not after, and from that he (MH) clearly was a better manager. If you want to compare managers how they are at the present time then RM is currently a better manager than Brian Clough.
-
Hughes definitely was better. Jones and Selles had better PL records than RM (a very low bar admittedly). I would rate Jones, Selles and RM as equally terrible. Coincidentally, all SR hires.
-
It would be hard to find someone as bad, or even worse. Although I'm sure Rasmus will try his best in that regard.
-
Quadruple if you take into account transfer price inflation!
-
We're going to have to agree to disagree on that.

No one is expecting an Emery to propel us up to the top half. Someone experienced to take us up to 17th would be fine, like what Roy did when he rescued Palace a few years ago. Our squad is good enough to compete with the lower half teams with the right manager. RM isn’t that man. We’re almost certainly relegated with him in charge. I agree SR are clueless so there’s a danger we’ll get another of Rasmus’s appalling picks. But maybe they’ve learnt their lesson. At least there’s a chance if we get someone new in now.
-
And then two weeks after that.
-
The title of Rasmus’s next book.
-
He’s not Klopp or Pep. A decent manager with Brighton and sacked by Chelsea. Saying he’s not interested in us is your opinion, not a fact. Unless you heard it from the horse’s mouth.
-
In your opinion.
-
The problem is Dragan is the only one who can realistically get rid of him. And he (Dragan) seems to still be unable to recognise that Rasmus is a complete charlatan and to see through his bullshit.
-
They managed at the top leagues elsewhere though. Also as footballers they played at the highest level (not a guarantee of success by itself, but adds to their potential as managers and garners respect from their players).
-
The pair from hell for us Saints fans.
-
If reports are true some on the Board share those views, but Ankersen is the one that wants to continue with RM.
-
Hi Russ. Most of us aren't buying that crap. Nice try though!
-
Underrated player. His record for England wasn't bad.
-
I like onions so that’s a bit unfair on them!

We were a million miles off against Bournemouth. Maybe only 100 miles off today. When he does get things right (like playing TP up front) it’s usually because he has no choice and exhausted all options. His tactics against Bournemouth was a sackable offense just by itself, even without all the other debacles in previous matches. I think the players have shown that many have the ability to compete against the lower half teams and have a decent chance of finishing 17th or higher. But not with RM.

Depressing but true.
-
8 game tenure when after 4 games it was clear to everyone and their dog he was out of his depth. So yes his sacking was much too late. They also spent tens on millions on players for his style, then sacked him shortly after. They could’ve used the window for a new manager. We lost a number of winnable games because of that. DM is a useless replacement who has a worse record than the aforementioned Jones. And his record prior to his hire has mediocre at best, with all his teams having terrible defensive records. And Wilcox was a major decision maker in that appointment (along with Rasmus I believe, although others disagree on that). So yes, he was clueless too. And how are Utd doing with Wilcox?
-
You’d have thought that after they finally belatedly got rid of Jones. But they promoted another out of his depth replacement in Selles (not to mention his useless replacement we have now). We don’t even have a proper Wilcox replacement (who himself was clueless). Basically we’re f*cked with the current clowns in charge.

There are only 20 managerial jobs available in the richest league on the planet so we should be able to bring in someone solid and experienced. Palace successfully did it with Roy on a rolling contract when they sensibly got rid of de Boer after his short disastrous 4 game start a few years back.
-
I hope not. TP looks ten times the player he is.
