1. Even though I disagreed when he cruelly dumped Nigel, I felt he had every right to make (what I thought at the time) a wrong decision: as Markus made it clear, he (Markus) would not have even considered buying Saints if it were not for Nicola. Without NC we'd probably be swimming with the skates (well maybe not quite that low, but near enough). When he was considering his future at Saints during the summer, I was pleased to see the poll here gave him over 90% support. What NC has orchestrated so far is incredible.
2. Yes, but if he's in the stands trying to shout encouragement to his team, it's important to gag him to keep him quiet.

4. Fourpast II ?
5. Essex too: they can finish on 16 points with a higher net rr. Groups A and C have teams that could finish second on 16 points or higher. So a loss against Lancs could make the last match (against Derbyshire) a must-win. The bottom line it's ridiculous that England can choose players for a Mickey Mouse friendly from any of the 8 teams having a competitive match the same day. Fortunately today Hants practiced winning without Carberry and Vince batting.
6. http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=508619 "Like I say below, this is his shop window to get out of St Fairies" "He couldnt farkin miss, unmarked free header ffs.." "And then he misses two open goals the s(ummer" Bitter much, skates?

8. Has he ****ing signed yet?
9. Don't particularly like the man, but I think he's spot on here. Meanwhile, Holloway has hit out at the state of the transfer market as he prepares Palace for their return to the Premier League. The former Blackpool boss wrote in his Sunday Mirror column: "The wages being asked when I was last in the top flight were mind-blowing. Now they are just plain crazy. "It's no longer a transfer market. It's a meat market - with vultures that like to call themselves agents picking the game down to its bare bones. "I have lost count of the number of players we have been offered since we hit a £100million jackpot with our play-off win over Watford. Many agents seem to believe that money belongs to them by right. Some approach you, claiming to have a mandate to work on behalf of players and the clubs that are selling them. In reality, most of the time, they have no agreement in place and are just chancing their arm. "A few times, we have been offered players who we are interested in - only for fees and wage demands to double or treble once negotiations begin. It has been very frustrating because we need to give ourselves a fighting chance and are still short of quality and numbers. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/8865681/holloway-hopes-to-help-chamakh
10. Beat Essex today in a low scoring match. Second in their group, with a match in hand. But only 4 teams qualify from the 3 groups, so the game against Lancashire could be vital.

12. If only we had a Summer 2013 HCDAJFU / Transfer thread. Oh wait, we do. It's hard to find I know, but here it is: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?44154-Summer-2013-HCDAJFU-Transfer-thread#.UgezhWQ6WXI
13. Not really Minty. I remember from 2007:

Worcestershire (227–6) v Northamptonshire (222–2)

Actually I lied. I got it from Wiki.
14. Hants win by 1 run. Madness!
15. 4 needed off last ball
16. Hants 202-2 off their 20. Carberry a brilliant 100* (getting there off the last ball!)
17. The Cherries dropped 7 players for tonights gentle work-out. Anyway, congratulations to the plucky Cheats FC for holding the mighty Bournemouth reserve team to only a 1-0 defeat.
18. They'll be focusing on the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. The old yo-yoing from league to non-league strategy.
19. And some said that it was time to close this thread. But as we nutjobs predicted, there are plenty more laughs still to come.
20. I 4-1 think it's a bit unfair to mock the afflicted. Oh, what the hell.
21. Well, his name often comes up if one of our players is up for a new contract: "If he signs, let's hope he doesn't do a Saganowski."
22. Not to mention the minus god knows what point deduction in February if they go into their umpteenth administration. Parachute payments don't last for ever. Or maybe they do, for the Cheats?
