I always loved the Golden Eagle, despite it being in eastleigh. The food was terrific long before the advent of these gruesome gastropubs, they were one of the westmacott inns together with the Hunters in swanmore and the george and falcon in west meon. Think there was one in four marks too. For sheer interest value, I like the coach and horses in soho. All that Jeffrey Bernard stuff on the walls and the private eye/peter cook aura..... Plus where else in london can you get a pub sandwich for a quid?!

Adkins obviously realised that and adapted the game plan to the conditions, and its hard to argue with the result. Well, thats exactly the nub of it. According to most polls on the subject, and I think the last census, the majority of our people are not religious in the sense that they believe in the Christian perception of God, heaven and hell, and the Holy Trinity. In fact, a relatively small percentage of the population ever go to church unless its to attend a wedding/funeral/christening/christmas singsong etc. However, we live by the values embodied by Christianity because most of us agree with those values, myself included. That in itself doesn't make you personally "religious" or "Christian", it just means we as a nation prefer to live according to those ideals. So in that sense, I would agree with the idea that we are a Christian nation.

I think that would count as a nightmare rather than a dream. Does dreaming about Pinder count btw?

You could watch BBC iplayer legally without a tv licence if you live outside the uk. You should be able to access it by using firefox and loading their autoproxy plugin set to the uk. Thats what some american mates of mine do. There are other proxy servers as well, that ones free.

I thought he was terrific yesterday, not only the goal, (which was top drawer,) but his running off the ball. First time I've seen him properly and was well impressed. Particularly liked the way he drifted back out into space before he scored, he'd taken up a great position to receive a pass that got blocked but was back and ready for the follow up pass before thumping the bastard in. Well worked, well taken and well deserved first goal.
