  1. So agree with several posters,we have to learn to win again and the more practice the team has to play together the better..how many of our current team have played at Wembley ? that is quite an incentive ,and ... to go there again,... as we move up the leagues with the support of everyone including us . Lets get behind them on Tuesday bring the kids and have a good evening out.
  2. Well done the boys. Just back ,.the first 35 minutes were terrible ,but as if by magic we started to play really well and kept it up for the rest of the match. Great win and in the +++'s..keep it up please
  3. I think it was around a million, but in the long term worth every penny, the best deal in a long time and a huge potential sell on eventually, he has a longish contract. He is beginning to make a difference in a much older squad than last year and is playing some very classy football..when he doesn't play or is substituted you notice the difference and not for the better ,,Morgan is a class act enjoy while you can ....
  4. Could be bad news if the owner pulls out ,they might get someone with real money to back them with Storrie changing sides like the wind to keep his fingers in the honeypot, and it would really spoil our fun if it all went right for them, just look how many log on to enjoy their misery as they enjoyed ours so recently.
  5. Blame the Government , the FA and all the other international busybodies for spoiling your fun, I'm sure the Club is following the rules and will be penalized if they don't.. Oh happy days...or have people complained about behaviour..only asking
  6. All my family sit in different parts of the ground and go to every match, we all have different thoughts on players and discussed the appointment of AP at length, some for some against,my granddaughter is 5th generation,so we have stuck with our Club through thick and thin (a lot of that lately) and will continue to do so, but amazingly we all enjoyed the game last night, although they ran out of steam and panicked in the last 20 minutes, we were sad we lost but did see a vein of hope and will all be there again on Saturday getting behind them and willing them to WIN!
  7. All our loving thoughts and prayers are with you both from all your football family at St. Marys xx
  8. Alot of footballing thoughts go through the mind and a lot of "ifs"..I liked much of what JP did with the young that he was given...if..we had todays defence and Lambert up front last year ,where would we have ended up in your opinions?
  9. Dear Alpine, I'm afraid you don't know much about French football, the managers would crucify a player who drinks, it just isn't in their culture to go out and get drunk . Lads drink coffee together or have a meal with mineral water, not booze. I lived and worked in France and had an auberge where the local lads came after football and never did I see one of them out of line they were polite and didn't need to get tanked up to have a good night, they actually talked to each other....these were not pansies they were tough boys who looked after themselves because they wouldn't get picked for the team if they were not in peak condition. Sadly it is a British thing that nothing can be enjoyed unless you are p****d.
  10. Jake had a very good match and had his strikers been a little more active particularly in the last quarter the score would have been a lot closer. I have always liked him and am sure he will go on to be an excellent player for us . Well done Jake your club is behind you.
  11. My son brought my granddaughter for the first time when she was 7,she sat quietly for about 20 minutes and then turned to him and said "they could have scored 3 goals already" Her second name is Mat..ilda and her mother hasn't a clue! We take her to the more fun games, but will probably let her come to most games next season when she is 9..we thought it best to break her in slowly and for it to be a treat not a penance.
  12. Of course we can, we have time to build a team, with investment for players when needed as we climb the tables, better than a bunch of rich strangers with no particular allegiance to the Club, we may never be in the top 5or6 but I am sure we will see Premier Football at St. Mary's in the not too distant future. I was so pleased to see M.L. in the squad photo as I think it showed a paternal interest in the team and in his new venture, you just get the feeling it is not just about him as we had in the not too distant past,he really cares and seems to really enjoy the games. In M.L. and his team we trust..can't wait for the next game and more improvement which is still much needed.
  13. Very simple one to Quo- Here we go and here we go and here we go Rickies better than Ronaldo, here we go Saints rocking all over the world..........also might not annoy the other 10 as much......
  14. Well I have seen every one bar one of Morgans games since he arrived at the Club,he has had3 managers plus a French Coach telling him what to do in just over a year..that can't be ideal for any young player,he has a finesse on the ball I hav'n't seen for many a year,he will go in and get the ball quite meatily, his long crosses are superb and when he does score the first goal it should be a corker and the first of many..please give the youngsters a break they have had a fairly sh***y start, they now have experienced players around them and a sound manager, they should come on quite quickly now...keep the faith.
  15. He should just have been a bit cleverer and made it look like an "accident" not a full on assault...thought the winding up was awesome..loved it.
  16. and how great is it that the new owner makes a huge effort to come and support the team, home and away even though his investment hasn't seen too much return at the moment.. I think we are so lucky, especially looking at the blue few...onwards and upwards at last for our Saints...COYR..we are starting the climb back to the prem..
  17. Couldn't get to the game today,at least a point, the Solent/Player commentary was very poor, could someone who went today rate the players 1-10 and should Adam be taking the corners ,from what I have seen previously he shouldn't,but goal should give him confidence, also your view on late substitutions today..sounded too late to make a difference. Thanks
  18. On his day he is lethal, but with his height and the damage he does his body, like other fine players he gets injured..he is one of ours, support him.....
  19. Well said J Bizzle..I have long said that Morgan is a real class act and I was worried we wouldn't be able to keep him even before the French coach put his oar in and scared the boy that he couldn't play for his country if he stayed with us. Yesterday was a cameo of what he can do to a game..for the time he was on he changed it immediately for the better,he has amazing vision for one so young and the long cross was pure football poetry, many on here have said he doesn't get stuck in but he actually does and yesterday was another example. I wish I felt the same conviction that Adam is another who is on his way to stardom, but I just don't,too much flash and not enough finish....Next Saturday I have a feeling we will win and that should start us on a feel good run that will see us out of trouble and pulling together as a good workmanlike team....and I know I've never seen pigs fly either..
  20. He was awful, when we were losing he went missing on the touch line and when he was out there he flapped his arms like a penguin and the team took not the slightest notice except his "lovechild" Jermaine. It is said the drinking culture of the team got much worse under him and his interviews were whinging excuses of how hard done by he was with injuries etc.etc every time, much as he does for Scotland now....never darken the doors at St. Mary's again even in a bad dream.
  21. Well done Oscar, he is definately one of our up and coming players, support the boy now or he will be offski to somewhere who appreciates him just when he is coming into his prime. It is also a stick to beat the French under 21 manager with, if Oscar can play for England from this league so can Morgan play for the France.
  22. 2m not nearly enough for Morgan,I am sure he will go on to Arsenal in a couple of years for many millions, the idea was that Southampton would make the profit not Tottenham or Fulham,I think he has 3 years left on his contract and sadly our demise will lose us not only a very promising player but a financial killing as well. If he has to go, to play for his Country ,like Oliver Twist I want more!,
  23. Thank you to the positive posters,it is truly awful to see our Club brought so low(without the e) and the climb back will be painful,we have to build a team again that we can have connection with, not a bunch of individual players that come in to do a job.It was sad watching the highlights from the leagues last night and seeing so many old Saints players still playing well and were loved by us ( or hated ) but they were ours..I long to feel like that again, when we know our personalities, that they stay for the long term and our Club has a heart again..I know it will take time and we have started but we must stay positive and get behind the people who have at least made this possible in the future.

Sadly I have never played football,my father played and I grew up watching him and married someone who did,my son played and I have watched Saints all my life,so,my opinion is female...as both Kenwyne and Simon have come back from long term injuries..are you a bit 'frit' for a time after that and then your confidence comes back..and you get motoring again when the fear subsides? I would welcome the expert opinion on here.
  25. It was great to walk out of the ground with our heads held high,it was a good night ...even though we lost . The boys worked hard against some very dirty play and I really felt the shoots of recovery from our near terminal illness were there ..roll on Saturday COYR
