  1. I have to agree with Alpine and that is a first,we are playing well at the moment because all our top players are sparking and eager, take out 2 injuries over several weeks, a suspension or two and a couple off form and we are looking vulnerable again. If we do not make the automatic places and I really hope we do,at least the powers that be won't have far to look for the reason.
  2. Sorry, I really didn't mean to call you Bradley......
  3. As another poster has said, how he would have enjoyed the recent results, perhaps the addition of a small Swiss flag in our crest or the initials M.L. on the end of the scarf would be appropriate for that modest man rather than a big statement.
  4. Last season he seemed unwilling to play with Jon Osemabor as I remember, sorry can't recall how his name was spelt.I always got the impression that he was chippy and always thought he was better than he was.
  5. There are only three people in my humble opinion that would take us through to the prem and Morgan is one of them. I fear that finesse is not a word in Adkins vocablary and he will encourage cloggers to get him out of this league and keep his job. For a young player, I like the originator of this thread, have enjoyed Morgans vision ,skill and undoubted talent and we will be the poorer if he is sidelined until his spirit is crushed and he goes.
  6. You can buy your own ticket but be quick as mine had already gone by 11.30..not best pleased!
  7. What a fickle lot you are,you would play a loanee and oust one of our best regulars, which obviously would upset him and then be surprised and disappointed if he wanted to leave in a transfer window..come on . .we need him to stay get behind Morgan, if you can't see his undoubted emerging talent then you are not watching closely enough.
  8. Who was he supposed to be with and what are their ages?
  9. I thought they all died at the end of the Lowe-Wilde era, very surprised they are still breathing.
  10. So sorry for your loss, that dreadfrul illness takes so many we love, there are a lot of good people up there to look after her and she will always be watching over you , Remember the good times. Big hug .
  11. What the exact amount is not important,it sends the message that although we are reported to be a rich Club we will not pay through the nose for anything or anyone if we think it can be negotiated down to what we want to pay. Most of us do it every day in a smaller way it's called good housekeeping.
  12. The next manager will be Morgans' 5th-great for his morale and development don't you think in just over 2 years at the club...
  13. None I hope as we don't know the full story and we really don't need to hack off anyone at the moment. Leave diapproval for when we have a real problem and then it might be taken seriously, don't you think the booing already this season has helped events some of you would have prefered not to happen?
  14. After a strange old morning mulling all this over I can only suggest we get behind the team tomorrow and on Saturday no booing of the CEO or overt support for a manager we no longer have and wait and see what this week brings. I agree with many comments on timing etc but at least we now know in whose hands our future lies and on whose shoulders responsability lies also.
  15. Papa was incredibly arrogant just after he joined the Club he told a friend of mine that football was finished in Italy and France and that he was biding his time with us to be called up for the premier league which was where he was going, they spoke the same language so no misunderstanding. I fear he thought he was much much better than he was.
  16. I think we should thank our lucky stars that the Club is being run properly, efficiently and that there will be no fire sale at the end of the day. We may not like aspects of things we hear about but they are nothing in comparison with our past history which nearly lost us our Club. We will not be pandered to I am sure but a respect of the fanbase will come over time judged on gate receipts and merchandising. We will hear soon enough the immediate plans and I for one look forward to our next game because thank God we have one.
  17. There is a very interesting obituary in the Telegraph today which tells much of the history of the the family and that Markus had made plans for the Club during his last illness. Could someone clever out there reproduce it on this sad but uplifting day ?
  18. Just win the league for him and dedicate that to the wonderful man he was. The tributes at St Marys are lovely too.
  19. With our love and deepest gratitude to a wonderful man. Our Saints family hold out their arms to your family and embrace them and thank them for lending him to us for such a short but memorable time. Bless you all.

I dearly miss him pulling on his shirt as he has the best body I have ever seen..made me a very happy female, I really miss him but not for footballing reasons...
  21. As I think all of us would like him to stay as long as possible,we should try and get something going for this Saturday,if he is just back from playing for France tonight , it would make him feel that we do give a damn and value him as a Saint and want him to stay and see us to the Premier League. There will be many coming for him over the coming seasons,we need him to feel Southampton is his spiritual home and to stay with us.
  22. He started shakily but I thought grew in confidence and got better as game progressed also I think the atmosphere was very odd last night and could have affected the less experienced lads.
  23. A friendly to try out players in a big arena who are new to it,so nobody expected a fabulous game,we did some good things, booed Pulis when he came not ideal, chanted for us to get Antonio, who scored against us and got more applause and attention than any of our players, not a peep for Rasiak,Wotten, bless his cottons was woeful, rather an out of body experience I hope someone gained something useful from it because 100 klms was too much effort for what we got today.

  25. I was always worried that their new 'man at the top' knew too many loopholes from his previous employers.
