  1. Wish him and his family all the luck in the world..really nice people.
  2. He is far too clean and shiny for that rabble,he will stick out like a sore thumb,oh! sorry it's Wotte we are talking about..
  3. Morgan will be a great player, I seem to remember being a lone voice in the wilderness,so am thrilled that detractors can now see what some of us knew a long time ago that this boy is special.......
  4. Wish him well, sorry to see him go,he was here at the wrong time for us and for him,it was a pity he didn't get more outings under that clown Wotte who would only play McGoldrick at the end of last season.
  5. Henry is a nice fella and has been and is one of the great footballers of this generation,I don't suppose anyone will feel worse than him today and I'm sure he would not have wanted to win like this,if the boot had been on the other foot what would Mr Keane be saying this morning I wonder. I think it was because of his good standing in the game that nothing did kick off and his ability to say sorry. There will be consequences for sure but I hope when every thing calms down that this will not ruin a good reputation built over his long career
  6. Morgan didn't have his best game, but if you watched him as I did at the game and later on t.v. he gets on with his job, not much flash but solid harrying ,he prowls and pounces,he sees the game better than most,as Lazlo78 says we get involved in the overall game and if someone stands out we aclaim them but a lot of good work goes unnoticed,no he hasn'y scored yet and hope that doesn't become an issue, I'm sure his team mates would like that for him but there are other players on the pitch whose job it is to score too,I see a player who follows instructions from his Gaffer and is growing, poncing around is not a discription I could pin on him to be fair, just a young man learning his craft from a serious manager that he respects after the horrors of last year.
  7. I just knew Wotte was hanging around for something....dear Scotland ,have another piece of our useless managerial ex's..........
  8. Brighton were better than us on the day, it will happen,we have surprised a few teams lately as well, Yes it was a poor day for us but not a disaster ,we will live to fight another day nobody was injured and we will probably win on Saturday as the wake up call will have sunk in. Yes we have a team, but it still needs tweaking and the manager knows this. Keep the faith and the belief and support our team every inch of the way ,it really matters that we do through poor games as well as the great ones, we were awful yesterday, the minutes silence was only supposed to last for a minute not the whole game, let's hear from you all on Saturday. I love my team but. they still need our help in every way
  9. He had hamstring problems last year, he was pointing to the top of his foot up by the ankle before he went off last night and was obviously in a bit of trouble. It will be bad news if he is not fit for Sunday as midfield fell apart in the second half without him.
  10. Marseillaise every time for me and strangely all their players manage to know the words and sing it with feeling unlike our miserable bunch.
  11. The way the world is going I think Arabic would be most useful ,it is actually a very interesting language and being able to speak it gives you a great advantage both on a social and business level.
  12. Any club that takes on a troublemaker with violence in his genes deserve every problem that comes with them,I could not see in a million years that we would touch cowardly rabble like that...we are building a strong feisty side without " badboys " lets keep it like that.
  13. Absolutely agree with you Saint Tsu..wish him well wherever he is.
  14. Can anyone help, in the very early 50's I remember writing in a school essay about "Glassankles" a name my father gave to some hapless player who didn't measure up, I can't remember who it was but it certainly intrigued my English mistress! I have been lucky enough to have seen all the mentioned players on hereand I think of all of them Mick Channon and George O'Brien were my favourites but Terry dashing up the wing also has a place in my heart...but I am watching the new squad and wondering who will be with us long enough to get on this magic list one day.
  15. I think Saga is a thoroughly nice man I wish things were going better for him and very pleased Oscar had a good match, hoping for a good future for him with us.
  16. We have a TEAM, not just individuals ,it is wonderful to watch and a manager that gets cross on the touchline and the players listen to what he instructs, that hasn't happened in a while,he takes notes so nothing slips past...it's all looking so good I can hardly bear it ......
  17. So agree with many posters loved some of the football played under JP and wish him well by far the worst of the Windmill 2 was Wotte. All behind us now thank goodness, onwards and upwards...COYR
  18. Bless..
  19. It was a source of wonderment for me as a child that the paper was delivered to the house by the time we got back from the Dell ,and if we stopped off at the paper/ sweet shop on the way home a man would stagger in from the Echo van and dump the pile of papers by the counter ,the shopkeeper would whip round and cut the string and they would fly out of the shop in no time, the paper boys waiting to go on their rounds . I now live on the dark side so can't get one over here but my sister keeps them for me, it will be another sad passing of tradition, something we have got used to over the years. It bought back a happy flash of memory of my Dad on this sunny morning , Thank you for raising it on here.
  20. Well nobody else has made a silk purse out of a sows ear that is Portsmouth with all previous investment,a few moments in the sun and no infrastructure..a funny way of doing business if you are serious,we can only wait and see the latest pretender to the Pompey throne.
  21. We have been inured to disappointment. I think we must learn to aspire again...Come on you Reds!

    Surman

Totally agree with Weston also heard through a family member of Drews that he was very happy at Wolves ,but I think rather like a stick of rock he will always have Southampton deep inside him . Where ever he ends upI wish him all the luck in the world, he gave his all ,it didn't always achieve the end result but he tried and thats what I like in any player...effort.
  23. Just a footnote to NP being a good manager and a nice bloke..I sent him a note when he left Southampton to wish him well in the future at Leicester as I thought he had done a good job for us. I was very surprised to get a letter back saying how much he had enjoyed his time at Saints, wishing us well and that he hoped our teams would meet in the Premiership soon. It was nice that he took the trouble to reply at a busy settling in period for him at his new Club.
  24. Not a great game but the kids loved the penalties, good turn out.
  25. So do we think the lumps of land around the ground have been bought now and no longer belong to the former owner ? The new lot must be looking at a much larger development programme as they would appear to have property development credentials. Have they really looked at Portsmouth as a whole,it has always been a dump and a few upmarket flashy executive houses surrounded by dross isn't really going to work and the development of the football club as a jewel in their crown can only mean that Mr come again Rednapp, sniffing carelessly accounted wonga will be back as their saviour, and so much closer to home. Thank our lucky stars daily that we have Markus as ours.
