Gaston was a 'top flight" signing, perhaps JRod as well; Yoshida looks perfectly comfortable in the top flight now. Trouble is English football in general and the PL in particulier are very different from other leagues. The pace, the physicality and the intensity just don't get mastered in a day. Read the interviews by our foreign lads, they all say the same sort of thing, "you've got to put your foot in otherwise they'll think you're pussy and you'll get bullied" "it's hard to last 90 minutes at this intensity"etc etc etc. No matter who we sign if they're not used to PL football they'll take a while to adapt. If they have the class and maitrise to do just that it won't take too long. Personally I don't think having a manager and coaches without PL experience would have helped much either.

please not lallana, Boruc,Rickie,Morgan,Gaston and JRod

perhaps we could try Forren at LB and if he's that sh*t hoick him off and put Fox on.

4.5 millions € gross in 2011/12 but took a big pay-cut this season because of his injury record. Only on 1.5 millions gross this season apparently, no doubt there are some bonuses though. As per usual for the francophones, look forward to the oft hilarious automatic translations. http://www.foot01.com/foot-europeen/italie/flamini-prolonge-a-milan-mais-baisse-son-salaire,90468

West Ham are the type of bunch of duffers Gaston just might take apart. Hope to see him start for his usual 65 minutes on Saturday.

probably because he had some sort of deluded illusion about keeping them up. Probably didn't count on them losing their first 2 games under his tenancy. Poyet turned them down, others probably did as well, Adkins fancied the job.

they hear what they want to hear I guess. Did you not follow all the bolloaks overheard by Long Shot at the bookies at Doncaster? They make up crap and spread it generously.

still he's right about Adkins and Reading though, shouldn't have given him the job, guess they're preparing for the NPC already. -
people who know people, students etc.

who knows, they may need to get a point to stay up and we'll be on the beach already.

It's football nowadays, if you have ambition and yer man ain't getting the job done you get someone else. Cortese was apparently concerned about Adkins knowledge (or lack of ) the upper spheres of football. It's all in an interview Morgan gave to L'Equipe or one of it's reporters at the end of last month. Not going to put it up here in case some of the contents don't please but he's pretty straightforward when replying about some things. Morgan has become a bit of a media darling in France since he's become the Number 1 rated Frenchy in the PL (on stats...they like stats) and there are a lot of interviews kicking around. Think he's even got his own programme on tele this coming Sunday...L'Equipe de Dimanche.
-
exactly; The Liebherrs are way way way in the background nowadays, not sure that they actually own anything anymore. Everything's been consolidated and liquidated and what's left is run by Cortese and a Swiss administration lawyer. Suspect the Liebherrs got all the money and Cortese got everything else.

err I got it from a Flemish newspaper around the time of Adkins sacking.

Past "links" don't mean much. Why last summer apparently Nige's number 1 target was a bloke called Bram Nuytink or something like that...did he ever get a mention in "links" ?
-
Not sure that you could have Fonte and Essien at the same club.
-
and less than 300 games on the clock to boot.
-
don't see that as a problem myself, Shaw is a fantastic prospect yes but there are better left backs still.
-
If indeed we are looking at Mathieu Flamini, which I very much doubt, just his agent doing his job I expect, then I would be worried about who will be leaving. I still expect Morgan to move to this summer if he doesn't get a call up for the French squad on their summer tour to South America. Any player with serious ambition to be in Brazil in 2014 will want to be part of his country's squad by this summer, after that it's too late. See him at Man U or Arsenal myself. Steve Rowley from the Arse has watched him 5 or 6 times of late and Wenger was extremely evasive when asked about him during the France-Spain game. Just depends on how much Nicola is prepared to refuse for him, if we get a bid of over 15 million he'll be gone.
-
probably just scared of Artur anyway.
-
because Markus's major company ,Mali Internation AG is run by Cortese and a Zurich administrator called Werner. It's public domain stuff, anyone can look it up.
-
why would we consider a failure like Arshavin ? NC has big big plans, he wants international experience now, that's partly why Adkins was evinced in favour of Mauricio, a man with top level experience to take us forward . We will sign 3 or 4 players I think and none of them will resemble Arshavin,Flamini or Phil Neville. Unfortunately I think there will be 1 at least major departure.
-
sounds like a lot of old bolloaks, doubt if "the Liebherrs", whoever that may be these days, actually take any interest in the club. SFC=Cortese. Nearly everything Markus ever owned or created is run by Cortese.

does Bailey look like an impressive acquisition ?
