The January 2013 HCDAJFU thread...

Because it's Zambia and he's getting a contract that will bring a Zambian club money I suppose. Be different if they tried to involve him for a game I expect. Anyway it's not as if Mayuka is likely to get a game with Saints is it -

I don't know, ART lives down around Montpellier and to "habitués" of French Football the transfer window in England sometimes looks unnecessarily complicated. Here it's much simpler. You do your scouting, you strike a deal and the player signs on the dotted line in the first few days of January. In England most of the transfer rumours are generated by agents to drum up interest and supporters believe nothing is happening when it should be. When in fact nothing was ever happening in the first place. -
2500 dollars for that borefest ?? Where do those people get their money, maybe baseball is a registered charity that you can, knock off your tax or something. Sort of help the down and out and uneducateable sort of thing.

The whole economy of football relies on idiots like Abramovitch being duped into paying huge sums for players he doesn't need. It's money that football doesn't generate , could be considered as a sort of export really. Cork is probably better than both Mikel and Ramires and doesn't get cards in the same way. -

bench Wednesday evening ?

Was 20 on Saturday I think.
-
you can see why none of these young defenders make the first team though.
-
Most keepers seem to fumble and parry a lot more than they ever did before; Shilts,Banks etc caught nearly everything. So either the shots are being hit harder and harder with more and more effects, a distinct possibility, you only have to look at Tennis for that, or the the ball is moving more and more in the air and is harder to catch cleanly. Plenty of keepers seem to be very wary of the ball now and prefer to punch it or slap it away rather than take a chance on trying to catch it and drop it at the feet of an attacker. It's not just our keepers though.

Right I thought he'd been subbed by then, silly me.

There was an incident on Saturday where Gaston might have shown his real worth, after he'd been subbed though I think. When Punch hit the post and JRod and Lambert were too far back to follow in. Think Gaston would have been on that like a flash.

Because they would cost a lot of money and I don't think they have any. Few of our fans seem to appreciate that we have a 10/15 million £ pairing acquired for less than 2 million £ -
We need to dispel this illusion . We have at least 3 players who are better than Gaston at this moment in time. We probably paid too much for him in his present state. Then again so have most teams, looked at both matches yesterday afternoon and 3 of those 4 sides have players who have not reached the potential the clubs paid for them. Allen was diabolical,Henderson, Jones,Kagawa,Diaby,Podolski and even Cazorla weren't worth anywhere near the prices paid on those performances. Cortese wanted a flagship signing, he made one, the player will get better eventually but he may well be struggling with English Football ,it's intensity, it's weather conditions and the number of games he's required to play.

I don't think the player is over keen either, not if he can go to Milan or some other Champion's League side in the summer.

There was a thread started by 1976 Child in his 2nd or 3rd incarnation which got him banned for ever which lasted about 1 post. Didn't see it myself, was it just a great big knob photo or something like that ?

Is it okay for Saints players to dive and cheat?
Window Cleaner replied to the stain's topic in The Saints
As I said yesterday the OS gallery images 9 through 12 clearly show Guzan bringing down Puncheon, that's a foul, it's in the box therefore it's a penalty. I presume those very detailed and clear sequential frames are on the gallery for that purpose. -

In that I could actually see some sort of motivation.

I don't, didn't think he was good enough for the NPC more often than not.

8 million was the figure oft quoted when they bought him from Leeds. -
I've looked at the stills of the Guzman/Puncheon incident again and you can see from 2 successive ones that Guzman has brought his knee up to stop Punch's forward progress. That's a penalty.

No longer top 3 favourites to go down..

17 is also the number of points we probably now need, 4 wins,5 draws will do the trick.
