Hampshire CCC 2018 Season thread.

Hmmm. Adams and Vince gave us a pretty good start but now we're in some difficulty at 164/5 with the Worcs bowlers pinning us down. Still Amla may get a decent score and push us towards 300. -

So McManus has opened with Adams. Gives Amla a bit of time to adjust I suspect. Ah well good plan, McManus out for 2. -
A very premature thread really. We can avoid relegation and should concentrate on doing so. Wins against Bournemouth and Swansea should be well within our grasp and could very well be all we need because I don't see Huddersfield getting many more points.

What does "military grade" actually mean anyway. Just says to me that it wasn't cooked up in a garden shed somewhere. Certainly doesn't seem very efficient, then again neither do a lot of the smart bombs and missiles that get used around the globe these days. I mean look at last April's cruise missile attack in Syria. 59 Tomahawks on an airbase that was functioning again within a couple of days. 59 Tomahawks must cost a packet of dollars for what seems to be a very limited result. One wonders if they weren't "soft" versions really, just for show and effect.

Probably just offside as per usual.

Depends if he has the certified fight pedigree of the conker and the liquorice straw in the sherbet dip.

This year's results in the ECL have shown that anything is possible. I mean who expected Roma to pull back 3 goals against Barcelona. These knockout rounds are one off occasions that start at 50-50. Liverpool were impressive over the 2 legs against City and you just can't write them off. With their front trio they can score at any time against anyone.

Yep, good looking line up...if Adams can still open correctly anyway. Just hope we'll get some play this week-end because the pre-season has been a virtual write off. Couple of bitty days in 2 games against Sussex, two wash outs and a day against the students at Cardiff. -
Perhaps but Lovren had a better game than VvD last night. The two however make a good pair. Anyway City were unwilling to pay the asking price so that's kind of their problem.

Why should we be bitter ? We sold them players with more ambition than SFC for a lot of money (which we have since wasted on dross). In fact the ECL success of Liverpool so far and our current dilema just bears out the players desire to leave us for a bigger club. The only thing to be bitter about just now is the mismanagement of SFC.

Well no, you'd have to factor in Celtic's cut as well. -

Good start to our innings today, even if it is only against Cardiff University. -
St Mary's Football Group – 2016/17 financial results
Window Cleaner replied to Delmary's topic in The Saints
I doubt if we'd even be concerned about any of this if the team wasn't in such an akward position in the League. We appointed a wrong manager after sacking a manager who'd have got better results. That's down to Reed and only Reed. The rest is just no particular concern of the average football fan. Well apart from the investment bankers amongst you that is. -
NO, BEHIND YOU................Bloke obviously hasn't attended too many pantomimes.

There is no Irish race, just as there is no English race, those things are about nationality (and or politics).

Mandy Rice-Davies about summed it up for every situation in the then foreseeable future.

Past glories ? Did we beat City in an ECL quarter final first leg recently then ? They're just a bigger club point. always have been, always will be, probably just because Liverpool is a far bigger city where football is kind of important.
-
Totally unrealistic. We'll be stuck with far more of these high earners than you imagine. Still we might not go down eh. There are still some pretty bad teams in contention for the last drop place with us. I still don't see Palace staying up, nor Stoke and WBA are already gone. We need one decent result that we don't see coming, unfortunately it won't happen whilst the players still have cup ambitions.

Hughes to only play those he can rely on - Any idea's on who?
Window Cleaner replied to striker's topic in The Saints
Premier football is alright if your preferred team can afford 20 or so of the very best players and you can give all of the others a drubbing. If you're down in the also rans fielding Hojbjergs and Stephens then it's not so much fun. Until the PL implements a real spending and salary cap then the PL will just be a series of warm up games for the ECL. -
If they played to their collective ability they wouldn't need to be apologising all of the time now would they. They have been dire all season and that's not the manager's fault. Our season is down to the players and if we're relegated it's down to them as well. Oh and Les Reed.. cos I dislike him intensely.
-
Well of course it's your fault you silly tonkers. You lost against West Ham reserves.
-
If it didn't the Everton debacle against City certainly did. What was BFS thinking, 4 front men (and Rooney)with no defensive abilities against one of the best sides in Europe. I thought Austin was just rubbish yesterday and Gabbiadini just wasn't, well wasn't anywhere to b seen. Hojbjerg ? Just don't get why he's even still here to be honest. Even old man Davies is a better player.

How do you know she wasn't short of cash? It's all always been so opaque that no-one outside the immediate circle can possibly know.

Official..Southampton appoint Mark Hughes.
Window Cleaner replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
Well that will make two from two for him this season then. Did he not get sacked by Stoke because his side was rubbish ? I really don't know what we expected from him.
