plenty of money about in the EPL but it will all be squandered on potential busts who've had a decent game somewhere or other at the WC. The usual suspects(Sunderland,Birmingham, Wigan etc) will sign a few third world stars for mega £ and then they'll be loaned out next season to Spain and Portugal leaving the good old English fan to foot the bill for those 5 year golden contracts.

Lallana scored 20 goals, does he not play in midfield?, Puncheon scored goals as well; for the umpteenth time, it is not the role of Morgan and Hammond to score goals or be continually floating about in the opponents box, that role is assigned to Puncheon and Lallana and they do it very very well. Ths obsession with a goal scoring central midfielder is becoming tiresome, we have Lallana and Puncheon and that's good enough for me.

sorry Andy you're not right there, that's the Spanish game all over, keep the ball and let the other bastards come and get it if they want it, then they hit them with a mercurial acceleration when they do try to play ball, Spain's front 6 instill fear in defences and midfields, so they hang back so as not to get caught, the Spanish just grind them down and eventually score.

I very much doubt that the friable Dutch defence will last very long faced with the Spanish Steamroller, a red card for Von Bommel and 2-0 to the Spanish at half-time would be my prediction.

what do we need another striker for ? Lambert,Connolly and Barnard is that not good enough for League 1? We must have someone in the reserves who is good enough to play the odd game ,we need to be careful about signing too many players isn't it 25 senior players maximum this season? No point in signing players you can't put on the roster.

I kinda get the impression that Harding will play as left back as usual and that Dickson will play in midfield on the left,with Puncheon on the right and Lallana moving into a box to box role with Morgan doing all the dirty work and water carrying.No need for any more midfielders as that will leave us with Hammond on hand.

Anyway it's not about the manager it's about the players.Many of them are made to look good in their clubs by the exceptional talents around them who aren't available to our national team.Don't forget Inter Milan won the Champions League with very few (if any) Italians in their side.Take away Drogba,Carvalho and Anelka from Chelsea and they'd be pretty crap.Managers don't make teams, players do and ours despite being amongst the best paid aren't all that good because they are so one dimensional.
