  1. When saintsplayer say 'all angles covered', what they actually mean is they have a few shaky cameramen in ridiculous positions getting blurry shots of the goals.
  2. That is embarrassing.
  3. Stock is the new Skacel!
  4. Take them on holiday to Portugal, give them an overdose, then pretend someone has stolen them. Oh.
  5. Also very impressed so far, but as others say the next 3 games are huge. 7 points out of 9 and I'll be happy. RE handling Chamberlain- he's renowned for nurturing young talent.
  6. I don't think the managers should be getting involved. I'm sure Nigel Adkins had nothing to do with the comments on the website as he seems a very respectful man.
  7. I do think he looks like a beast. Don't think having him and Bignall up front together is ever going to work though as he needs someone else up there who can receive the ball from the defence/midfield and hold it up a bit.
  8. This is basically what happened to me, but I never got a free taxi :-(
  9. Did you know that Earle Gray helped abolish slavery?
  10. As most have said, I always hold the door open for anyone. I also say 'don't mention it' if I get no thanks. Leading on from the OP and the risk of being accused of being sexist, agest etc, I always find this problem with giving up my seat on buses and the tube. There are a lot of people who get offended if you offer your seat to them. I'm not sure if there's meant to be some sort of age restriction where you only offer your seat to people over 65, but short of asking their date of birth it's hard to tell!
  11. It would be ridiculous to make all of those changes. And I take it you weren't at Notts on Saturday? If either of the CMs is to be dropped it would be Morgan.
  12. There were a lot of 'casuals' about yesterday and clearly looking for trouble, overheard one group trying to organise where to meet for a fight. Your son got unlucky and I suspect be wasn't the only one. I was walking round for a bit on my own and think had I been wearing colours I may have met some trouble myself.
  13. I actually asked him this and I'm afraid he couldn't remember. He did however say he remembered one of the goals we scored in the game was Terry Paine and it was against an ex-arsenal keeper?! I don't know whether that is accurate or not but he was a genuinely lovely bloke and at 81 and still going to st marys, a true saint.
  14. Will be meeting the following tonight: Jimmy Case (midfileder, 1981-1991) Ruben Agboola (defender, 1980-85) Mel Blyth (defender 1974-77) Jimmy Case (midfielder 1985-91) John Christie (goalkeeper 1950-59) Glenn ****erill (midfielder 1985-93) Norman Dean (forward 1965-66) Mick Earles (defender 1973-75) Hughie Fisher (midfielder 1966-77) Tony Godfrey (goalkeeper 1958-66) Tommy Hare (defender 1965-66) Denis Hollywood (defender 1962-72) David Hughes (midfielder 1991-2000) Wes Maughan (forward, 1958-62) Brian O'Neil (midfielder, 1970-74) And Lawrie McMenemy. Any questions anyone would like me to ask?
  15. 'Lifers' should be in prison for life unless there are clear signs of rehabilitation IMO, in which case they are allowed out after a minimum term. Very hard to judge I know though.
  16. It's only a matter of time until Puncheon cuts inside and curls a beauty into the far post IMO. He's finding his feet and I'd definitely leave him in the team. As said, OC is a brilliant impact sub to bring on. As well as his pace he is a completely different player to Puncheon. Right footed for starters meaning he doesn't need to cut inside and can run straight to the byline and cross. Imagine being a defender being turned inside out by Puncheon for 70 minutes then having to try to keep up with a fresh-legged Chamberlain.
  17. Excellent. He has the potential to become a saints legend IMO.
  18. Good point, although would still rather win in the league than the cup, even if they should both be wins. I thought Chaplow's passing was poor on Saturday. He gets his foot in well but that's not that much good if you give it straight back. FWIW I think if we can stifle County for the first 20 minutes, where they'll undoubtedly come out all guns blazing due to the supposed 'new manager syndrome', we should have more than enough to score a couple of goals and ultimately win the game. People talk about our attack a lot but we also have a very good defence and 'keeper and teams will find it very difficult to break us down when we're playing at our best.
  19. Pulis would grow a pervy moustache
  20. Perhaps rest Morgan and start him on Tuesday so when he picks up his 5th yellow card he'll be suspended for the Shrewsbury game?
  21. Away.
  22. Bump this by adding: There are also some fantastic prizes on offer in the raffle - 1st prize: Table for six people in The Executive Club at a match of your choice. 2nd prize: Luxury day out at a London Health Spa. 3rd prize: £100 cash There will also be some fantastic prizes, including a large framed photograph of the '76 Cup final team, in the slient auction.
  23. If so, we (The London Saints) still have a handful of tickets left for our ex-saints evening, being held at the Counting House pub in Bank at 7.30pm. Ex-Saints are a charitable organisation who regularly play matches and attend functions in order to support their favoured good causes. This year they are raising money and awareness for the following- Peter Osgood Trust - helping disabled and under-privileged children enjoy football Kevin Moore – Saints stalwart who suffers from fronotemporal dementia (an early form of dementia). The Cedar School - local school helping physically disabled children. Basically the night is a chance to meet and chat to numerous ex-saints players, have a drink with other Saints fans in London and raise money for charity at the same time. The night will consist of an informal 'forum' in which you will have the chance to take to the mic to ask a question to one of the players, followed by general 'mingling', where you can chat to them, have your photo with them etc. There will also be a buffet, a raffle and a silent auction. The following players have been confirmed and we are hoping to get a couple more on the day: Jimmy Case (midfileder, 1981-1991) Ruben Agboola (defender, 1980-85) Mel Blyth (defender 1974-77) Jimmy Case (midfielder 1985-91) John Christie (goalkeeper 1950-59) Glenn ****erill (midfielder 1985-93) Norman Dean (forward 1965-66) Mick Earles (defender 1973-75) Hughie Fisher (midfielder 1966-77) Tony Godfrey (goalkeeper 1958-66) Tommy Hare (defender 1965-66) Denis Hollywood (defender 1962-72) David Hughes (midfielder 1991-2000) Wes Maughan (forward, 1958-62) Brian O'Neil (midfielder, 1970-74) And Lawrie McMenemy. Tickets cost £15, with all the proceeds from the night going to the aforementioned charities. We have already raised nearly £3000 and are hoping to get it up to at least the £4000 mark. Please let me know if it is something you may be interested in.
