  1. They need to accept that they just finished bottom of the table with 0 points and require a massive clearout and rethink. And any new leader needs to be squeaky clean and incredibly thick-skinned, because the usual suspect media outlets are out there today, building a stock of stories to attack each candidate. Even though some might suggest that at this stage the healthier approach for a balanced society might be to hold to account those who are actually in power...
  2. Inconsistency is my main annoyance. In Arsenal Leeds there was little, the use of cards was laughable - that inconsistency is spilling into VAR too, which suggests it's the guys implementing it who need to get their act together.
  3. There was a reminder of the alternative at the weekend when some of the games were played without using the offside rule at all. Norwich scored two with clear offsides - it was like a playground kick-about, jumpers as goalposts. Or have officials got used to someone else making the decision and telling them?
  4. 2-0 up - I tell you this for nothing, I'm looking forward to the draw!
  5. I have few issues with VAR. I'd just like some laws of the game tidied up, and most importantly, competent independent people operating the system. Asking a ref to judge whether his mate has made a mistake, is a ridiculous concept. It needs to be sold to refs as an assistant, not a jury. See rugby.
  6. That Prowsie challenge reminded me how my knee ligaments went a few years back.
  7. Other than Delle Ali weeping like a child everytime he falls over, is there a sweeter sight than Toby being dumped on his ar$e as we score?
  8. Ralph mate, I owe you an apology! I started to doubt you after that gutless West Ham debacle. Prove me wrong again on Saturday...
  9. My personal measure, and it may be wrong, is that when kids are going through school bins looking for food, that's poverty.. Either way, it's the season of goodwill to all men, even though who are beyond reasonable debate and would swear that black is white, so Merry Christmas.
  10. I see the Mail has just been found guilty of making up the story about Corbyn coming for our houses - there's a few more of those cases to come. That said, why is he still hanging around? It would be like Poch sitting on the Spurs bench each week, like a spare...coach. Move on, it's over.
  11. Who will be the first cabinet minister to take up a consultancy position with one of the hedge funds that has benefited from the lobbying this year? Though they'll probably all be too busy running food banks for their supporters in Redcar or Darlington.
  12. They told the High Court that the club brings £300m per annum into the local economy - so that charity effort is less than chicken feed.
  13. A special mention for lifelong Pompey fan John Jenkins who has died at the age of 100. There have been times in the last 100 years when the two cities stood together - John was there on Gold Beach. He was a gentleman, a veteran, and a great ambassador for Hampshire.
  14. There were several moments that the BBC still need to explain - the editing of the Boris clip, the removal of the Remembrance Day footage, the retweeting of the fake news story, failing to bag the big interview, twice. It was an odd series of errors for a major news organisation to make.
  15. My favourite comedy moment was when our international right back had the West Ham equivalent of Claus Lundekvam skip past him and bang over a cross. When a central defender runs around you on the outside, perhaps it's time to accept that you are no longer a Premier League defender. This defeat feels different....and not in a good way. Reminds me of those Everton and Villa losses and that Middlesbrough debacle back in 04/5.
  16. The NHS in 2019 - a 4-year-old with suspected pneumonia, lying in a pile of coats on a hospital floor.... If that is Boris playing a blinder, I'm not looking forward to him operating at a level below his best.
  17. Following on from that non-debate last night, anyone fooled by the childish mantra Get Brexit Done deserves what's heading their way. Like The Daily Mail, McBusted and soap operas, it's aimed at the hard of thinking.
  18. There is no doubt about his character, everyone knows exactly what Boris is. The disturbing bit is how some people love his plans to place billionaires before starving kids. It's really not a good time to get old, ill or poor - so be careful out there.
  19. The last person I heard blaming immigrants for the underfunding of the NHS was the respected political analyst and social commentator Chubby Brown.
  20. He can't have run away from the stadium faster than he ran away from that 50:50 challenge that he bottled. Being played out of position or being unhappy with your boss is no excuse for less than 100% effort.
  21. Our best players yesterday were committed, played in a sensible formation, on top of their game - and holding bugles.
  22. Rather than all this draining nonesense and the obsession with swamps, perhaps rats leaving a sinking ship might be more apt, while still offering the giddy thrill of a mild insult to all concerned? Just trying to help.
  23. When a swamp is drained, the water departs, and everything else stays where it was - so this is the complete opposite. People are leaving different parties for different reasons, some by choice, others being forced out. But there are no swamps on either side. Just an empty ditch.
  24. She's a bit shouty. As for Boris with his Cummings-scripted Come Join Us being blurted out as a substitute for intelligent speech, the only time that phrase has worked was when utilised by Rosemary and Fred West.
